  • Hello everyone, in this video we will talk about Wingbits! New interesting flight tracking DePIN project, free to join (you just have to buy the equipment) and in addition to the installation we will also see how to install the Automatic Gain and the Heatmap! Very comfortable to have a passive experience and analyze your coverage, and finally we will see Crankk Multimining! If you already have a Gateway like Sensecap or Rak or etc I highly recommend using Crankk because it allows you to join WingBits and mining up to 12 different projects with just a few clicks!

    Wingbits Installation command:
    docs.wingbits.com/get-started...
Now let's the other commands! Guide on how to setup Automatic Gain and Heatmap. Let's see Heatmap first, run this command:
    sudo mkdir /var/globe_history
    sudo chown readsb /var/globe_history
    sudo nano /etc/default/readsb
    sudo systemctl restart readsb.service
Once this is done, nano edit screen will appear and you need to manually edit JSON_OPTIONS.
So delete the string you have and add this below:
    JSON_OPTIONS="--json-location-accuracy 2 --range-outline-hours 24 --write-json=/run/readsb/ --heatmap-dir /var/globe_history --heatmap 30"
Once this is done you now need to press CRTL+X
Press Y to save and then Enter to confirm writing the file.
Done, you've set up the heatmap! The nano edit screen will disappear and you will be returned to the first SSH page.
Now let's set Automatic Gain, very convenient because it is not manual and personally I found an improvement in aircraft #reception.
    First run this command:
    sudo bash -c "$(curl -L -o - github.com/wiedehopf/adsb-scr...)"
    hash -r
    and after this:
    for i in {0..30}; do sudo autogain1090; sleep 120; done &
Done! You can also close Windows Commands access because it will do it automatically.
To see the first results of heatmap just wait a few hours (or in extreme cases even a day) and then (in your browser) go to:
    yourip/tar1090/?heatmap
    For Performance Graphs go to:
    yourip/graphs1090
And very important! Make sure you do these configurations during busy flight times and not late at night or early am, for your region.
For more details I recommend seeing the excellent github of wiedehopf github.com/wiedehopf
I hope my guide was helpful and have a good flight!✈️
