    i enjoy your videos both ways. I think it is nice to show both styles to keep things random! Love that he thought the butter was cheese and even tried to get his prayers in ... maybe hoping to snag a chunk? I am so impressed with your biscuits! Wow, mine never are flaky like that! Oh no.... strep, darn... glad you're doing better though! So sweet to have your helpers, I keep my coconut in the freezer, but didn't put it in a vacuum seal, and it has gotten a bit dry, any tips? Good trick with the beeswax, looks for easy transfer! Great idea with moving the hutch! Pst, Mark is silly, I like the screen too! I agree, I am a "clean as I go" type of cook! OH WOW, the foil/pan trick is pure GENIUS!!!!!!

      Thanks for watching friend! Thanks for your helpful comments too. 😁 He did grab a stick of butter the other day and took a bite before we could react. He didn’t mind it! 🤦‍♀️
      I am all well now and am so glad to be! Thanks for stopping by! ❤️

    Hi Penny, sorry that Mark then god sick but I know your pantry looked after him, too! I love having rice in the fridge for whenever. (I'm binge watching your videos as I light fires, have my lunch and fold clothes.) Sorry, what was the seasoning you put in the soup? Ooh yummy looking biscuits and the soup looks great. Well done to your little helpers!

    • @OpenHandFarm
      @OpenHandFarm  Před 7 měsíci +1

      We are all better now, and doing great! If you’re talking about the rice soup, it is called creole seasoning. I use a brand called Tony Chachere’s. I’m not sure if you can get that in Whales. Maybe you can find something that will work. 😁 I hope you get lots of work done as you continue to watch! 😜

    bless you. Im a single mom so the three times I had cv, it changed nothing for me. I order my food and have it delivered, i dont drive so-nothing changed. Quarantine means nothing to me. I am the only one that is here to care for and feed my three special needs kiddos. REST as MUCH as you can and take it easy as much as you can. My daughter loves those stackers but she will eat the entire box.

      Oh my goodness! That is a lot for a single mom of three special-needs kiddos. You must be an amazing mom. That is the one side of Covid that I do experience. The getting tired really easy real fast. And strep does the same to me. But I think I’m good to go for this coming week. Thank you so much for watching and for commenting! Blessings to you and your sweet little family. ❤️

    She is so cute as are the other two!I enjoyed watching them today and I also enjoyed the voice-over version. This version lets me know how are you work to produce videos for us as we sit and watch you work! I appreciate you so much!!!!! Either version is fine with me, both are great and I vote for which ever one you feel like doing. Is one easier? Probably today's version as you don't have to edit so much. I've never seen a baked oatmeal with eggs and milk and will try that asap. I finished my fresh yogurt today, I buy 7-8 large cartons when I can find it. So now it's time to dig into the oatmeal. I also never knew to add starter to my overnight soaked oats. I wish I had know before I threw by sweet yogurt out after over 3 years. I just didn't like sour dough but loved the starter. Not enough to begin again, but if I ever do, I will certainly use it in baked oatmeal. Glad Mark is over his turn at covid - so sweet of you both to share it-but space it out so one can help the other. You two are genius! LOL I just saw that rice absorbs things from under the ground while growing. USA and Europe has way more toxins in the soil than Asia so the rice contains twice as much arsenic grown here rather than China. They don't worry so much about the cancer since they cook rice like pasta, then scoop it out in drainer spoon to eat. That reduces the amount of toxin by 50%. SO, they eat out 90% less toxin in their rice as we do here, letting it absorb the water as it cooks instead of straining it. California has less amounts of toxin than other parts of US and if you buy it grown in CA, you will have less. I will certainly be rinsing and then boiling it and straining it from now on. Who would guess that a cooking method could provide protection like that!

      Thanks so much for all of your input, Mary! Both types of videos include about the same amount of work. Believe it or not I did edit probably more doing this video. There was nonstop “Baba” questions going on. He is always right by my side, wanting to help! I had to cut a lot of it out.
      As far as the oatmeal goes, you don’t have to use sourdough starter, you can use whey from yogurt as well. If you look at the recipe, I believe there was another option but I can’t remember what it is right now. I just always use sourdough.
      Wow! As always, you just raise my level of knowledge with the things that you learn and share with me. I never knew that about rice! I will definitely be rinsing for sure!
      As always, it was so great to hear from you, sweet friend! I hope you enjoy the overnight oats! Talk to you soon! ❤️

    So while you were sick, did your hubby cook? I'm wondering because right now my hubby is sick with covid.

      @OpenHandFarm  Před 7 měsíci

      🤣🤣😜 No. I put a mask on, washed my hands, and came out when no one was around and left by spraying disinfectant behind me. He took care of his food though. I am sorry your husband is sick. Blessings on your health!

    I'm an oddball so too much background noise irritates me. You probably have all the other comments say they love the little ones in your video. I tolerated this one pretty well though. Again I'm a bit weird with noises, but you asked 🤷‍♀️

      @OpenHandFarm  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Andrea, thank you so much for being real with me. I can imagine that it is a lot! Sometimes it’s a lot for me too. 🤣 if no one else comments, then I will definitely go back to the voiceover ones because you requested it. Or, I might just do a little of both. And try to keep the background noise to minimum. Thanks so much for watching, and for making it through! You are a blessing! ❤️
