  • We went to WOW Porto to see what it's all about. WOW stands for 'World of Wine', but SUPPOSEDLY it's about a lot more than just wine. So we decided to explore all the museums (and 2 of the restaurants) to find out for ourselves!

The Cork and Wine are at the top of the list
I’ll abstain from commenting on the Fabric factory

Would you visit this cultural district? Which museums do you think you would check out?

I suggest, Fundação de Serralves, Museu Soares dos Reis, Palácio da Bolsa, Igreja de S. Francisco, Museu do carro Eléctrico (no edifício da Alfândega antiga), Museu Romântico, Palácio de Cristal, ...
Don't miss the "Noite de S. João" (June 23-24), that seems to be back, be careful about COVID-19!!!

Adrian Bridge is the CEO of Taylor's Port and it's his collection in the Bridge Collection.

Just a note: You may not want to refer the Century 21 agent. I was forced to hire a lawyer to deal with issues that he did not want to address. He informed me that I did not need to conduct an inspection upon move-in, it could be done later. Also, he wanted to give deliver my keys to my friend from the U.S. Too crazy!

Thx for laying it out there as it is. I liked your critiques about the unintended deceptive names eg the bridge museum and the name WOW itself which doesn’t encompass all that it shows and contains. Maybe they’ll take heed of what you guys say and change those names.

Hi, thank you for this video!! It's possible to visit all the museums during the morning?

To visit all the museums you would probably want 2 days.

I would be most interested in the wine one I think. I personally think wine is disgusting - maybe all the kinds I’ve tried were just cheap garbage?? But I think the process and lifestyle surrounding it is fascinating. I am also very concerned about the feet juice contamination.
Also, remember that news lady who fell and got injured while stomping grapes and went viral ? I feel so bad for her because that is literally the first thing I will ever think about when I see grape stomping.

Watched that video too. Keep giving the critiques they make sense and hopefully the owners will listen and make those improvements. I agree that the name would not draw people not interested in wine such as myself but I have a history degree and am a history nut so would definitely go there did that reason.

We live just north of Porto and I did WOW when my mom and aunt were in town. We did the chocolate story and the pink palace one. It was pretty fun. I'm actually not a huge chocolate fan but found the chocolate story very interesting to learn about. The palace was just fun photo ops and tastings. I need to go back and do the cork one, definitely.

@@HoneymoonAlways we did, but I don't remember which restaurant it was lol. It was outdoors (we didn't have our EU covid pass at the time and it was back when they were required for indoor dining), it had a great view and it was just up the hallway from the pink palace and the little store that you walk through at the end lol. It was good, but I wasn't super hungry so I had a Caesar salad and tomato basil soup.

Thanks for your detailed review. Yes, only yesterday talking about a visit so very timely for us. Probably would visit the wine experience (being of Italian descent 🇮🇹 -wine is more important than water 😁), cork, and pink exhibit since my better half enjoys rose more than I do. Would probably pass on the chocolate since we visited a chocolate farm in Kona, HI 🏄‍♀️ just before the pandemic hit us. Recommend you both sign up for the ‘naming committee.’ How about the “R. J. Bridges Exhibit”? Appreciate the fun video. 👍🏻

As a Portuguese native raised in the US I feel disappointed that everything in that cultural center seems to be geared towards the English speaking tourists mainly Brits) by the use of English names for the center itself and other expositions inside, restaurant name etc. I think the names should be Portuguese with English as a secondary language. To me it looks like pandering and thus not authentic for that reason.
