this kind of videos motivates me to not buy too much with less quality, buy it once but with a good quality. I was a shopping addict and tryna get over it.
Shopping can be very addicting, especially when you see others showing their massive hauls all the time. It's important to ask yourself a question if it will actually benefit your life and if is worth it. Once I switched to good quality things, I am now not interested in buying all the random things I used to buy :)
Good quality does not mean expensive. It is quite ignorant to think that in 2024 when we are very aware of the inky list of products. Having said that, hope you buy less and affordable!
You have helped me become much more realistic about my makeup collection since your first video showing your collection on your balcony 2 years ago. I'm thankful for a more content attitude towards makeup, which I still love. I've been on a low-buy this year, which will probably pivot into an extremely low-buy next year and hopefully the years to follow. As I age I know what I like more and don't feel the need to try everything.

I'm turning 48yo next december, and I totally agree with you in terms of 'less is more'. In more than 3 decades of using make up every day, I've always kept it minimal. never used foundation or contouring for eg... I love the french style make up. They take good care of the skin health and use few products to enhance their natural beauty, without a thousand layers of all types of products. Honestly, if I'd have to use all the items most influencers do, I'd be exausted. Hello, from a Brazilian fan❤
Hello dear, it's lovely to have you here ❤ Greetings from Germany! I also like French-style makeup, it always looks much better in person. Most makeup tutorials only look good on camera, with lights and editing. Natural beauty is the way to go :)
Love your collection and your perspective on things. One tip about pressed powder eyeshadows - you can spray it down with isopropyl alcohol or pour a few drops into the pans directly to soak through and then wipe off the top layer as it dries. This will sterilize the shadow and make it usable for years.
You should try a tinted lip balm instead of a lip stain. It gives a sheer tint on your lips while hydrating them and not clinging to dry patches. There are plenty of options for a red tinted lip balm out there that I'm sure you will like. My favorite formula is Fresh Sugar Lip Balm, but Summer Fridays, Ilia, and Givenchy also have some great options. You could also try a lip and cheek stick. It might help you to cut out the benetint. I also think that lip stains tend to be super patchy.

It’s sad to find products that work really well only to neglect them for something new. A bad habit that I’m ready to break. A side note, my favorite eyeliners are from Victoria Beckham. They are so easy to apply and last well.

I love this video because I too prefer to have less but higher quality makeup that does the job I need it to do. Some ladies prefer a lot of fun variety and don’t mind but I actually find it overwhelming to have too many choices and prefer makeup that is easier to blend. I definitely have tried lots of makeup of all price points over the years and have definitely been on a strict budget when I was young (wet n wild and elf dollar makeup was all I could afford ) but now I’m glad I can purchase a few tried and true pieces and use them up!

I would say I’m disappointed with 90% of the makeup I try. When I find something I like with in a couple years they change the formula and I have to start the search over again. I fell like this leads to so much unnecessary waste. I now only shop at stores I can try it on and never buy the same day so I can see how it wears.
Mm to combat this, I would sample and look for reviews again during each repurchase. So I can catch any complaints about change in formula or see how the sample behaves.
I too just blindly rebuy my holy grails like most people but your comment highlights a legit concern.
I even have a foundation that I thought was really good, they seem to be phasing phasing the old one out slowly because my shade was called a different name on the store insert display but the bottles had the the old name and packaging, so I bought my shade in store but the other shades were in the new formula, I really liked it, Googled it and the reviews have been brutal for 2+ years 💀
"Never buy on the day you sampled" I go to stores and test for as long as I need to before buying. Also get samples if you can.
The Dior products are going through a reformulation. Most of the eye color ways are not as impressive in the new version. If you buy a new eyeshadow quint, you might want to consider a different brand. They ruined my beloved Dior Soft Cashmere.
