- Okay I know it sounds silly, but weirder things have happened right?
I truly believe Rudniks story is one that has the power to shock a lot of people.
* we’ve included this video in our series ‘Rudniks story’ so you can look back and see just how far this boy has come!
So many follow our channels and see where he is now: the lovable lap-horse that he is today.
But once they learn his story and see where he’s come from and what he’s been through, it gives a whole new appreciation for the boy he has become.
Rudniks story will hopefully help to shed light on the otherwise well-kept secret that is livestock auctions.
So many never realize the danger that many horses face at these auctions - so many that end up lost to the slaughter pipeline. And it’s happening right in our own backyards - and we don’t even realize it!
Rudnik was 9 months old when he was nearly scooped up by a k!llbuyer. If it hadn’t been for a horse rescue stepping in to outbid the KB, he could have been lost for good. At only 9 months old.
So many don’t realize the risks that even young, healthy horses face in these situations and by sharing Rudniks story I’m hoping we can help more ‘unwanted’ horses find their forever homes.
Imagine all the horses who could have had the potential to love a little girl/boy but never had the chance because they went unnoticed and ended up being shipped for slaughter.
All the ‘old’ retired horses that would have made beautiful first horses for the beginner rider. Or all the pregnant mares who never had the chance to bring their babies into the world because someone gave up on them too quickly.
There are thousands of stories of these souls being lost and given up on - horses who just wanted the chance to love someone of their own.
This was a chance Rudnik almost didn’t get.
But because of an amazing rescue stepping in, his life was spared - along with countless others saved by the same rescue.
But it’s not enough. So many people turn a blind eye to these ‘rescue’ horses because they assume they’re ‘old’ and ‘sick’ when in reality - they’re just broken souls looking for someone of their own to love.
Rudnik is living proof of how much a broken soul can flourish when they’re just given a chance and the love they need to heal.

@@rudniktheroanjust a quick question not judging not turned you with that just a quick question why does his tail look like that like why some of it looks all clumped up and other of it is flowy? He is a gorgeous horse absolutely adorable I was just curious as to what the reasoning was behind to why the tail looks like that.
It’s French braided at the top so it just looks a bit off from afar now that he’s rolled and messed it up so many times 😂

Just brought my new horse Catfish home this week. After two years of being horseless for the first time in 47 years,. I've helped my vet with a couple orphan foals during the 2 years, but with the knowledge they were not mine and would be leaving soon. It's nice to enjoy coffee out on the deck again in the mornings, watching MY horse eating his breakfast. God Bless you and our two special boys.

I wish I had my own horse, I love the freedom horses give you as you start your riding journey. Is Rudnik, the first horse you have rescued?
Actually no, he’s not! I have had 3 rescue mares prior to Rudnik. One was an old 23yo retired ex-racer TB, the other was a feral mare that surprised me with a filly about 9 months after I adopted her. Rudnik is my first boy though! I’d always had a special soft spot for mares and honestly never really had an interest in geldings - but this boy had something special I couldn’t ignore ♥️
As I was reading and watching him, I heard my grandmother say, “Well, isn’t he full of piss ‘n vinegar”. Guess who’s farm I fell in love with horses! There is something regal bout this boy. His backstory was heartbreaking 💔 but as I said, he knew you were his, I’m now positive you knew he was yours. I think spiritually our animals actually choose us, before we even know we will choose them! Happy to be here with fellow horse lovers 😊

Who could not enjoy watching such a beautiful animal obviously having fun? I’ve had various beloved pets who followed me around, but the largest were dogs. I would love a horse like Rudnik, but it’s not possible. Instead, I live the experience through your videos.

Random comment about me: I used to ride junior jumpers. I helped rehab an OTTB(off track Thoroughbred) and had him for several years. That was years ago. Now, I live in a place where having a horse at home isn't possible unless I move and not likely even then. Boarding a horse here costs about 700.00 a month if they feed. I am stuck here for now because of my health insurance. So, I feed my horse craving by watching others do what I'd like to be doing again. Sometimes, my memory provides the smell of manure, dust and horse sweat, perfume to me.
Aww I’m so sorry to hear that. It really is unfortunate how expensive horse boarding can be! It’s the same here, nearly impossible unless you can really luck out with a good spot. It’s definitely a good reminder to enjoy them as much as we can, while we can because life isn’t always accommodating to our dreams unfortunately. I hope someday you’ll be able to get back into horses in some way!🥰

😁Rudniks runs with his tail way up in the air like an Arabian. Perhaps he does have some Arabian in him. Either way, he's absolutely STUNNING! So glad he was rescued. The 'kill' industry should not exist.
He’s a full papered American Quarter Horse but he saw one colt do the tail thing ONCE when he was younger and has done it every since😂 a QH with an identity crisis 😂😍

I do actually have a video explaining the full story in detail - but I’m more than happy to tell you! So his registered name is Cash Tivios Gold. But I love giving my animals names with meaning. And so I did a lot of research and found that ‘Rudnik’ in Croatian means ‘mine’. I had a mare who I named Mina years ago, I lost her due to life circumstances but I wanted Rudnik to be a bit of a namesake for Mina. However, I misunderstood the translation as it means ‘mine’ more like a ‘coal mine’ not as in ‘he’s mine’ so while I do love his name - it isn’t quite what I thought it was 😂 however due to his colouring I believe it still fits him perfectly! And it’s a funny little story to tell people 😂🥰
