My husband and I live in an apartment complex that I also property manage that was slightly messed up due to a hurricane plus my style has DRASTICALLY changed but we don't want to dump a whole bunch of money into this place bc we don't own it, it's not our forever home. The accurate way of work from Kylie will always look good and I assume: hold up fine. Maybe with a little epoxy on top...

Loving your channel and videos,, I have stained concrete on the lower level of our home and sooo nice to have with kids and pets, and when we had a small leak with our washer it didn’t cause any damage, like it would have upstairs on the wood.. thanks for sharing your DIY experience

what is the additive that makes it less lsick?
do you need to do the sealer?
Have you checked with your insurance company regarding a painted floor? My sisters insurance company told her the house was “incomplete” without flooring installed. She had a half basement that would often leak, so they ended up putting 18” tiles down, to satisfy the insurance company. Also, if you sell your home later, will you have to provide a flooring allowance since you painted the floors? I ALWAYS consider resell when making renovations & updates. What works for you at the time, May have to be changed or corrected to sell. 🤷🏼♀️
You never HAVE to provide any type of allowance on anything when you sell your house. Everything is negotiable. In my opinion if a house has carpet you should get a flooring allowance. 😊
You said it was slippery have you done any floors with the texture? I'm wondering how that texture is? Thanks for your video.
I am wondering why you did nott use the texture especially with dogs. My dogs have a hard time walking on my vinyl floor and guessing would have a hard time with painted floors.
Do you find yourself cleaning the floors a lot with the light color? I would love to do a light color in our livingroom but it's high traffic with 3 kids and 2 dogs and worried i would be obsessed with keeping it clean.therefore i've been considering a dark grey. I would love your thoughts? thanks :)
Hi Jen!! My schedule to keep them clean has been vacuuming a few times a week and mopping once per week! It’s not as bad as I expected it to be!! 👍🏻 I actually think that dark floors might show more (foot prints, dog hair). I think the happy medium would be to go with a medium/light grey! Something closer to the color of fresh concrete! The stenciling that I did in our entry way is grey and it hides everything there the most!! 👍🏻
We have that problem right now of having had 1980s carpet down, ripped up, huge tack holes and craters in our concrete. Do you have any videos on how to fix your concrete before painting and ceiling?
Hi Leah! Thanks for watching!! Unfortunately I don’t. Here’s what we did - We purchased some premixed concrete patch and filled the holes with that! Once it dried, we used our orbital sander with 60grit sand paper to smooth them and remove any excess product. We found this method on CZcams as well and it worked great! Messy since it’s inside your house, but really changed the look of the floors!

I just got a quote for almost $8000 for a new concrete floor. Another 1 said 2000 jut for labor. We're considering doing this ourselves
We are getting ready to rip our carpet and vinyl out. You have been such an inspiration. I am curious... How many jugs of the low lustre sealer did you use for your 2000sqft home?
Hi!! Thanks for watching!! I think we used 2 or 3 containers! The sealer should be applied non very thin coats! We did two coats of sealer, but looking back I would recommend 3 coats! Have fun and good luck with your project!!!!
@@BuildingandBeauty Have yall's painted concrete floors stained? We went out of town for 2 days and came back to cat throw up! (weve only done the bathroom so far) I cleaned up the cat throw up and it left a bright highlighter yellow stain. now im contemplating doing the whole house :( we put three coats of sealer.

@@BuildingandBeauty I would definitely etch the garage floor with Muratic acid, before sealing/painting. I have painted/sealed our garage floor before & it made a HUGE difference on the cement dust! ☺️
