I’ve been playing legend a little bit this season and because of that I have a new found respect for you. I don’t say a word for the whole game I’m so locked in and you’re here making jokes and winning by huge leads😂😂
They have to add a good bunch of legends, significantly reduce foul balls, add two more online 1v1 modes at least, better the online rewards, add 4-5 more hitting types and more quirks so it is more unique for each player. Also superdives should be an ultra rare quirk. Pinpoint should have levels to it so it rewards the pitcher because of the user input. Last thing, make Mini seasons half of it, and give us the choice to take cutscenes off
Not asking to be a dick, but I’m genuinely curious what other 1v1 online modes could be added? Off the top of my head, I could see moonshot could become a permanent mode but I’m struggling to figure out what else.
@pjsullivan1979 if TA will still be a thing, they could add an online mode specifically to play with TA cards and make progress. Also, a full hall of fame mode, as well as a 6 inning game mode. They could add a "king of the hill" type of game mode, 6 innings, a group of random players in a little tourney, one loss and you're out type of thing

@bwilly930 I agree but for this to have balance it has to be more difficult to hit a perfect perfect so when one does it goes. It can be balance and also with more different hitter types this could be a big change if for every hitter type, the perfect perfect requires a different input or every hitter type would get a different outcome when it does occurs

Back door is if a lefty pitcher spots a slider low and away to a righty hitter. Front door is if a lefty pitcher spots a slider low and in to a lefty hitter.
As far as the repeat players I think it wasn’t the worst thing to have repeat players in different sets especially for certain players that were chase cards or like WS rewards. Like yes for content creators or the competitive player they weren’t happy that there was a WS rewards Juan Soto in set 3 just to turn around and give us a set 4 Lighting Soto but for the player who would otherwise never reach World Series but wants a good Soto card, now then can have one which is cool.
Same could be said for like the cycle Elly and then the Finest elly.
Same could be potentially said for the more casual player when it comes to set cards. If you didn’t collect 200+ set 3 cards you wouldn’t have been able to have the all star Adley and Ronald . For most people they picked adley cause he is the best catcher in the game. Maybe never got the chance to use both but then they turn around in set 4 and give us millstone Ronald which was better than the set 3 card. Again really cool.
Yes some duplicates were sucky especially when it’s like you get a “Big Unit” Randy set 2 and then a set 4 97 affinity Randy and then a chase pack Randy, when they are all 2-3 attributes apart and having more legends would prevent that. But some duplicates if they keep this set set-up wouldn’t be bad.
Yea I agree I don't think repeat players in itself is a big problem. If they are actually improvements on previous cards and you are also getting a bunch of other non-repeat cards to play with it won't bother anyone.

The game drastically needs more legends. While 2k MyTeam has absolutely horrendous game modes that no one wants to play, they nail the card content. They had nearly every player you can think of in 2k23 including college stars that didn't even do well in the NBA. Repeat player cards were also only a problem really because of the sets. The new cards were only marginal improvements (or actually worse for some reason) over their already 99 versions unlike in 2k where they have drastically better versions throughout the year. They also juice random players later on in the lifecycle which I think is good because it gives you players to use for theme teams or if you are just a fan of them even if they aren't actually that good in real life. The captain idea was ruined by sets because, obviously, you couldn't use all the cards that they apply to because they expire (and they just didn't design them very well). Honestly just a terrible idea to combine the two things.
I really hope they nix the set idea and if not at least cut the 99's all year idea. This was the first year I played any of the card base team build modes in a sports game because before my impression was that they were basically predatory garbage. I found out two of my good friends play Diamond Dynasty and I watched some videos from 22 and it looked like a lot of fun. I hadn't bought The Show for about 5 years, and I was pretty excited to try it out and build my team up. Both of my friends, who said they normally play all year and one of which I know is a completely compulsive grinder, had already quit during set 2. I kept playing but it didn't feel like you were building your team anymore and I really wanted to use some of my old cards. I think they shot themselves in the foot with how good set 1 was with the WBC program and everything as well. Nothing else after even compared because you already had a good team.
As far as gameplay, as you said the foul balls are completely obnoxious. It genuinely seems like they are bugged or something. If the ball is not in the outer PCI you should miss the ball completely every time. The way it works now it seems like if you put the ball in the outer PCI you get a terrible hit for an out and the people who are just completely whiffing are being rewarded with nonstop foul balls. It is infuriating. I also think everything basically needs toned down. It is way too easy to crush home runs on pitches on the edge of or even out of the strike zone even if you don't hit it that well. If a pitch is outside the zone, you really should have to get at least a good/good for it to be a hit, I think. On the flip side the nonstop absolutely insane diving plays should be toned down as well and the 110 mph perfect/perfect lineouts should really not happen as often as they do. A lot of this could be alleviated by just not having 99's all year too though.
