Thank you for sharing your experiences and adventures in your new home. I recognized a lot from my own life. Especially the part about the wife and the 58mm model 😉 Greetings from Germany 👋
I carry a Super Tinker everyday as part of my EDC and have for years now, it works well for my needs. Congrats on your new home and I'm glad to see you back making videos. Thanks very much for sharing and Cheers!
Thanks for a great video and congratulations on the new house! Our son is going through the same moving-in-to-a-new-house process and there is no end to the work that must be done. The other day I dropped by and was able to help him with something, but I had to use a Leatherman Wave with it's strong pliers, and not an SAK. (That's probably a little blasphemous for this channel! 😀)
I hope the move went as well as it could go and I'm sure glad to see you back on CZcams! I have such mixed feelings about the Explorer - it was my first SAK and got me through Boy Scouts. At the same time, the Phillips is kind of redundant with the can opener right there! Sure, there are some times where the full in-line Phillips on the Explorer is the exact tool for the job but... it's not that often, at least not for me. The Phillips on the Rambler, on the other hand, I'm not sure if I could make it without that little Phillips. I use that thing almost every day for something. So, I often end up carrying a Spartan/Recruit/Sportsman/Tinker and the Rambler, very similar to what you seem to prefer most of the time. I will carry the Camper though, when I think I might need a saw. The saw is great and doesn't add much bulk to the traditional 2-layer SAK form factor!
The Sportsman is so underrated. It’s crazy lightweight and super useful. I have a Deluxe tinker and while the toolset is cool, it’s too thick for an EDC if you plan to put in your front pocket. Curious how a 3 layer would feel (e.g., Climber).
I love your new style! Your new place looks great. You've really got me thinking. If you carry a 58 mm for the scissors, and also nail file and maybe a pen If you had a signature, and then add a tourist you really have everything in a very easy to carry combination. Way easier to carry those tools than a . . . well, what WOULD get you that combination in the smallest package? Some 85mm Delemont... but no pen, then. Somehow I think in writing this that you have talked me into buying a signature light. Thanks for the awesome video!! Edit - I forgot I also was gonna say I love how you can hear the snap of a SAK at times in the video!! ❤❤❤
Not matter which Swiss Army knife fits your bill their is nothing handier in a compact size. Love modern knives and traditional knives, but I always have a SAK in my pocket.
I'd say either Victorinox Rambler, Victorinox Midnight Manager. Both are essentially the same tool but anyone could use those tools. Great scissors, handy screwdrivers and easy to put on a key. Easy to have other things complement if you need to.
Hey dan, i have an interesting sak id like to look at if you're up for it. I think its a sample from in between the one with the pat symbol and the one with the key ring
I love to watch knife videos. I've been watching reviews of Benchmade, Spyderco, and knives like that, but they are not as functional as a good old SAK. Victorinox costs only a fraction of what those other brands cost while offering a lot more tools. I try to buy other brands but the competitors aren't helping.
Did I miss it? Did you find the explorer? Waited until the end to find out if you found it in the same type of obvious place that makes me smack my own head at least once a week.
I still only carry around my compact, I've used every tool on it (even the toothpick 😁) and it's never let me down. I'm not someone that intentionally makes it hard for myself by not using the correct tool for the job just to use my SAK's. They have helped me out of some unexpected problems though 👍
Hey Dan I need your help. I've found a vintage knife and there's nothing about it online and I was wondering if you could let me know anything about it
If you have some patience and around 50 bucks, you can definitely find one. I found an old cross on the bay for and a very nice person gave me a newer red one. Red is swell 👍
My EDC is the Hunstman. Suggestion when capturing video, always orientate the camera horizontally (landscape). Every TV screen, monitor screen, computer screen, movie theater screen, are orientated horizontally. In videos where the camera is vertical (portrait orientation), then played back on the aforementioned devices the left one-third, and right one-third of the screen is cut off, causing the video to appear as a stick video, tall and narrow. We humans, maybe all lifeforms, view our surroundings considerably more horizontally than vertically. Holding a cellphone or camera vertically the video produced is similar to looking through a tight vertical keyhole or wearing horse blinders. In addition, when held vertically then to view the entire scene the camera person must pan more left and right which creates much camera movement; not good. Also, because of our way of viewing our world more horizontally, a video captured vertically becomes spatially disorientating.
Now you can get a 2017 White Christmas Explorer. Plenty of them on EBay. I got one about a month ago for $50. Where are your SwissBuck knives? Never see them on your channel. EBay has good prices on them. Just got an Odyssey for $24.50 and a Trekker for $34 and both are like unused condition. Not a Wenger fan but I like the clip point blades on these and the black scales
@swissarmydan9354 I hope they make that new Companion knife with regular scales. Not having scale tools really let me down. Otherwise, it's perfect for me.
Boo, cheater lol. Nah I get it. I'll never not carry my Pioneer now. I always have an Explorer with plus scales near by in an EDC bag but pocket carry is a Pioneer and an Alox SD on my key ring. Sweet kid and a beautiful house btw. You must be proud. It's always a great day when Swiss Army Dan drops a vid and and edited vid at that!!
Start reviewing high end bourbon with the SAK’s and you will get more views from the bourbon crowd that is huge on CZcams. Just got some Maker’s Mark Cask Strength from January 2015 half bottles for $13.99 each and I bought 5 of them. Better than current cask strength stuff and this is from when it first became public and not distillery only bottles.
If you anticipate needing rhe magnifying glass on occasion, nothing beats the Explorer for edc. If you don't, there are probably over a dozen better SAK options. The Explorer is all about the magnifying glass.
Thank you for sharing your experiences and adventures in your new home. I recognized a lot from my own life. Especially the part about the wife and the 58mm model 😉
Greetings from Germany 👋
2:19 love the decor. Looks great! Very Georgian.
Looking forward to your next video, great content as always.

Awesome! Thank you!
New house looks really nice mate. Best wishes.

Well done and congrats on the new house. I agree the best set up for EDC is a 58 mm and a 2-3 layer knife
Great to have you back! I wonder who inspired the background hint hint😉👍…. Wonderful to see you getting some use out of that knife!

I've always enjoyed your challenge as an avid Victorinox collector. Love the Sportsman and the Tinker small.
Awesome, thank you!
Hope you're doing well! Miss watching your videos :)
Not matter which Swiss Army knife fits your bill their is nothing handier in a compact size. Love modern knives and traditional knives, but I always have a SAK in my pocket.
I always carry a Pioneer X on a dangler, but it only get used when I don’t have a more appropriate tool in reach.
Hi Dan
Just a quick question!
Where are you?
The clan, tribe and followers all.miss you!
Take care
Graham

Thanks Dan. Totally noticed the improved sound quality from the first seconds btw.
Loyal carrier of either:
1. Compact
2. Sportsman
3. Rambler or Midnight Manager on the keys
Rock on Dan!!!
Nice key rack dude. Enjoy your new place!
Thanks! Finally found a use for that neck. It came from the factory with a stripped truss rod.
Super Tinker has been my EDC for over 20 years now.
Hey dan, i have an interesting sak id like to look at if you're up for it. I think its a sample from in between the one with the pat symbol and the one with the key ring
My daily carry is the Rambler!

next time you're peeling an orange try the can opener works like a dream.

That's a good point. Thanks for watching!
4:38 no fava beans?😱
Have a handful of knives benchmade, spyderco, buck. but my most carried is a cadet...
Hey Dan I need your help. I've found a vintage knife and there's nothing about it online and I was wondering if you could let me know anything about it
I feel like this is the third move since I started watching Swiss Army Dan
😂 it’s # 4!!!!
RE: the Pioneer - I want to buy one. But man, I wish I could get a red one!

@@swissarmydan9354 Good to know!
60’s Alox Soldiers are my favorite or 60’s Alox Electricians. Heavier duty than today’s models
Mine favorite Swiss Army knife will probably shock you all but my edc Swiss Army knife is the swiss champ
I carry a cadet alot , but in my bag is the mighty super champ 😊
My EDC is the Hunstman.

I go back and forth between the Pioneer X and the Sportsman. I refuse to carry a Swiss Army Knife that doesn't have an awl. I use it all the time.
Awl the time!!!
