Today I'm recreating the "outfits i'll wear when i'm skinny" pinterest board...in a size 16! This trend makes me really sad, but I also feel that the more we give ourselves full permission to have ALL of the good things we want in life in the exact body we currently reside in, the better we will be. ❤️ Whether you're a size 6, a size 16, a size 26 - you are wonderful the way you are and PLEASE wear whatever the hell you want. I love you xoxoxo

I think the reason many plus size people stay away from oversized things is because when you are plus size, there's a very fine line between 'frumpy' and 'stylish'. Most of these outfits are pretty casual and a skinny body is why it's called 'fashionable'. If plus size people do wear that, it won't be pinned on Instagram or Pinterest as fashion inspiration, because the skinny body is the accessory of the outfit. Just shows how deep rooted fatphobia really is.

Actually your comment is what shows how deeply rooted fatphobia is. You're the one saying that Carrie isn't as fashionable. Non skinny people are the ones making these pinterest boards basically ssaying these outfits are great ONLY on a skinny body.
In reality all we know is: skinny has been what most people like and show on social media. Cute casual is what most people like this days

The crazy/saddest thing about these videos is that most of the outfits are basic and simple, the main part of the outfits is the “flat stomach” so when people make these boards it’s not “ I can’t wear this Because I’m plus size/it’s not made in my size” it’s “ I don’t have the flat stomach to show off in this outfit”

I show my arms, I show my legs, I where crop tops and I'm a size 18/20 after being a size 8/10/12 for most of my life. But I LOVE myself so much more now than when I was much smaller. i feel like as a teen i REALLY tried not to develop an unhealthy body image, but i was skeptical that it was all just perception, and i didnt just look "gross". i am so floored now, looking at pics of me then and realizing how distorted my body image was. we REALLY do internalise what we see glorified around us, so thanks for celebrating all bodies Carrie, we need to see it more than we might realise 💖

I think the thing I love about this (a part from the whole video and how amazing you look) is that you take photos of outfits that people with small busts wear. I have a bigger bust and find it difficult to wear clothing like sweater vests - and you saying you are allowed to wear whatever you want really hit home and inspired me and made me realise I can

Thank you for going out of your comfort zone and making this uplifting video. I didn’t realise I was a part of that trend too, I have a board called cute outfits where I subconsciously saved outfits thinking “maybe some day when I’m skinnier” and after watching this I feel different, I don’t have to be a certain size to wear something I want to wear. Thanks for this and you looked super pretty in the outfits, I mean it : )

I wasn't expecting to feel this way from the video, but I'm so grateful. The talk at 5:44 really affected me and made me feel so sad and happy at the same time lol. I really hope I can recover.
