Listen close and comment your choice bellow, but keep in mind this video was really just made for me; to confirm my thoughts and keep ya'll in the loop!
PS. Until further notice I'm a rectangle again :'( Please don't tell anyone else
ASMR, the acronym doesn't matter so let's just relax. Whatever your reason for being here, whether by accident or on purpose, welcome.
If you're wearing headphones, earbuds, or just playing from the speakers on your phone, don't be afraid to experiment with the listening experience. Typically you can find me in three situations when accessing ASMR. To stay focused while blocking out the noise, I'll wear over-ear headphones at a low volume. The carefully constructed ambiance is a welcomed blessing in this busy world and single-handedly helps me get work done. Now listen... come close... if it's the spine tickling, brain buzzing, full-body tingle effect we're after, I'm reaching for the earbuds every time. They're small and fit inside the ear, making it easy to cozy up in bed, blissfully mixing into the sounds now bouncing around my head. Lately, I've come to realize that playing the sounds straight from the phone's built-in speaker works best for sleep. It's a realistic and cozy effect laying in bed with nothing in my ears and just the sound coming from the speakers. From super high-quality assortments or low-fi sounds that bring you into the space, we're glad to have you here and hope you enjoy. - Zábava
Close, breathy and extremely binaural whispering is the only thing i am able to get tingles from. And only on my right ear too! Instant tingles
omg I am the sameeeeee even to the right ear haha! have you tried anticipatory tingles? like from heather feather those are my favorite
i have the same thing try watching tickle asmr by masayoshi
@@Fiona-we8xl i have seen some of heathers unexpected binaural videos but became immune to those unfortunately :(
me too!
Same! Except in the left ear for me lol!
Compressed is peak for my tingles, AI sounded absolutely crazy- felt like you were RIGHT in my ears. Definitely my favorite two, but I can see the AI one being abrasive with louder end sounds
AI can be customized tho
I personally really dig it when the audio is all up in my ears, really close and rich and bassy. That said, literally all of these options sound super good in their own right, and I’m terrible at making decisions
You literally have the best audio quality ever in my opinion. No matter how you do it, it always works perfectly!
Also, hope you fully recover soon! 😄
literally sounds like he’s speaking right in my ears 😭😭
I love it so much and he’s the only asmrtist I know who spent countless of vids trying to get the audio to be the best
Try SensorAdi ASMR
@@abibradford9762there is a french asmrtist AsminotauR that spend 2000€ on microphone best quality with really clear binaural sound
equalized is actually really tingly! the T’s and P’s are extra pop-y (if that’s a word)
Oh its 100% a word, makes sense too. Lots of studios and musicians use something called a "Pop Filter" so u don't pick up the physical feel of those sounds
@@GxWattsactually a pop filter was originally meant for protecting the microphones
"choices were made, moments have been cemented, editing is not a possibility"
Hmmm, I need this poetic line if I may, I'll do my own version of it
1. Compressed - 2. Natural - 3. Equalized - 4. A.I.
But the differences are marginal. They all sound good. Whatever you've been doing, it's been great!
the compressed version was the best for me, it's something about the sensitivity and enunciation.. i have to agree with other commenters, though - every experimental video from you is high quality and pleasant
I like the second.. it's more intimate. Makes me feel like you're on the next pillow. Your voice is the reason why youre my favorite asmr presenter. I do like the equalizer version too.
The second one is my favorite, i find it more relaxing when sound is on the quiet side
surprisingly, natural audio gave me the most tingles, i feel like by deleting all the breathiness, it lets the poppy sounds shine, i like it
The practical upside of having a 'loud' (edited to have high volume) ASMR video and turning down the volume on my end is that any other sounds that might come through don't blow my ears off.
Also I kinda have the opposite volume problem that you described. I like to listen to ASMR videos that are on the louder end, but the way my audio is set up on my PC I don't have much headroom to turn the volume up beyond what I normally listen to other content at. So creators who master their videos to be super-quiet actually upset me a bit lol
So with that in mind I think 3 and 4 are probably my favorites. But #2 and the ending bit still aren't so quiet that they fall into the 'annoying' category I mentioned so if that's your preferred method I'm fine.
I totally did not expect such a drastic change between the compressed and natural audio; that was so cool! I definitely love the natural audio, which sounded almost...fuzzy? Does that make sense? Idk, it was just more tingly lol. Anyways, great vid 😊
I love #2. It sounds like you're right here. The crispness and quiteness is perfection!
2 is where it’s at for me. The punch is usually what gives me tingles. I just turn up the volume on my phone and I’m good to go!
i’m glad you’re choosing for your asmr to continue to be what makes you most happy
#3 was my fave. The emphasis on different sounds and syllables was pleasant. Surprised the brain and kept it hooked like a good song does
I love how much effort you put into your videos and your audio quality!! Ty PJ, hope you’re feeling better soon!!
I like 1 and 4, because I feel they are the loudest and bring more tingles 🤗
Tingles already within 10 seconds wow
SAME!
my favourite one is the equalizer ! it makes really relaxing sounds with your voice
I always love when you dive into the technicals, puts me right to sleep
Another great video PJ 👏. Natural is my favourite! Really interesting to hear the method behind the audio etc!
Loved the natural and compressed!
Miss your hand sounds with random whispers! Love your work🥰
I got instant tingle with the equalizer filter, but i like the natural style better
The tingles are going crazy, love your content
I've always loved your editing (compression)! As a sound buff myself I appreciate rich, mid eq sound and you've always had that. I usually keep my volume around 15-20% on my phone for asmr but with your editing style I've always been able to lower it to 10% or less for maximum tingles. You do what makes you happy but my preference is compression
15-20%? I must be going deaf. I listen at around 75% most nights.
2 does it for me!
Number 1 was so good, so many tingles. My favorite by far
I personally come to your channel FOR that high gain but warm whisper experience 🧘🏼♀️
We love how much of an efford you put into the sound. I reeeelly tried to choose a favourite, but I just can´t. They are all good in their own unique way. (I know that´s not the answer you would like to hear...but heeey...it´s the truth). So interesting to be able to compare and Im so impressed by all the work that you put into this.
compressed!!!! i got tingles as soon as u started speaking 😍✨
Compression and AI were my faves! Thanks for explaining everything it was really interesting c:
It's number 1 for me 🔥
AI is the clearest as far as understanding your voice.
Natural is the tingliest, the great dynamic range really helps.
Compressed is the nicest sounding to my ear.
Equalised is the worst. It's just sort of... Noisy and a little dull compared to the others!
thank you pj for your videos! and a great commitment. your voice is very much sleepy, which is obviously a good thing.
i hope you are feeling well and rested enough.
if you are reading this, you are worthy, you are enough and you deserve to be there. thank you for making the world a better place. you do enough. you are actually managing your life so well. you can achieve anything you put your mind and effort into. ❤
personally I think #2 was the most relaxing and tingly
Idk any of this and tried to really listen 🤣 but I find it cool how asmr creators get very technical with the craft of learning how to be mini audio engineers. Always cool to see a hobby turn into a full on learning experience 👍🏼 keep up the learning.
It’s #3 for me. Only bc it’s warm on both ears and not as harsh. Compressed was also nice but #3
OMG I'm so happy that you uploaded a new video
I really liked the mix of all the techniques to be honest, it was super relaxing!
natural all the way!! it relaxes me in 0.1 seconds
After watching this multiple times. I think I actually like natural (option 2).
I will admit, all of your videos bring me comfort and put me into what I call my safe space so whichever route you decide for audio. I’ll always enjoy.
#1 & #3 I really enjoyed! I enjoy the breathy whispers versus just calm quiet whispers and these two do a better job of this. All of them though are relaxing 💚✨
Fan of #2 natural
the quiet/natural one is the best definitely!
As a music enthusiast I love the power of mixing and equalizing and I prefer the 3rd version
This was actually really interesting. It's cool to hear how much you think about your audio editing. To me the first three all sounded great and I'm not sure which of them I'd prefer, but the AI definitely sounded less pleasant
I'm kinda curious, when using different triggers, do you treat those differently when looking at the peaks/range, or take the general range of the entire multi-trigger recording?
Hey Luuk, now you're speaking my kind of language! I've tried it all, but being lazy and keeping it simple seems to always be the best bet. Setting the volume of the entire recording, usually until the quietest trigger sounds good, and compressing the whole track just below 0dB (that also seems to sound the most natural). In the past, when I goofed and had no idea what I was doing, banging on a colander and whispered 2 meters from my first mic. I had to lower the volume of the tapping and boost the whispers just to make it sound like ASMR.
Even now, when a loud chunk sticks out after giving it the usual treatment, it gets a different EQ or volume adjustment before anything else. Specifically, some loud tapping above +6dB will get compressed to the -4dB range at a ratio of 4:1, and quiet whispers will get -2dB at 2:1 or until the peaks get just below 0dB.
I've been meaning to make an updated "how I edit my ASMR" video. This is giving me some great ideas! I always want to share a lot of info, but don't want to scare anyone off, showing just how simple it can be
This video was so interesting! Its really fun to compare, I think I got most tingles from the equalizer part
I am happy to listen to all but preferred the natural one!
This was actually so interesting. I am studying Electrical Engineering in University and I'm in a class about signals and communication, so hearing all these things were actually so interesting in how it relates to what I'm studying.
The compressor I find sounds the best, sounds the most consistent throughout while maintaining those sensitivity levels. The natural has that punch you mentioned, but too quiet for my ASMR preference, just don't feel it as much. Definitely sounds the most clean, and it is nice, definitely works for certain ASMR types. The "AI" sounds similar to the compressor but it definitely doesn't cut those peaks as cleanly as the compressor, some harsh s sounds. The equalizer I found left that unsatisfying feel. I could really hear that frequency cut, and it just felt like I was missing something while also hearing too much background.
Regardless this was a really cool experiment, and my experience for sure will be different from others!
First setting was my favorite 🤩
I think I’ve listened to this every night since you posted it.
On headphones natural is the best but EQ is the best on phone. And i usually watch your videos without headphones. Mostly because i love the POP in your voice. Specifically i love the way you pronounce constants.
Also PJ idk what you did in 2017 (audio wise) was fantastic.
#2 sounds the most ‘natural’ to me, like as we as the listener were really in the room with you. Plus with the overall volume lower it gives us a chance to listen at whatever loudness we want. Love your videos!
#2 is just so relaxing to me 💕
A.I. is the bestt!! Super tingly, I feel you more close and clear
I think compressed and natural feel the most calming and tingly to me
Natural for sure!
I like the natural one best
Yea same
I prefer #2 natural. All of your videos are great.
#2 is very relaxing and makes me feel cozy.
#1 sounds like it would sound amazing for sounds with objects. Makes it sound really crisp.
#3 GET OUT OF MY HEAD. Jk jk but you are right in my ears, and I like this one for the whispers.
#4 is very loud and kind of harsh for whispers. Not the fave for how I experience asmr.
So that's my order: 2, 1, 3, and 4.
Thanks for your videos! They mean a lot to me for my sleeping needs :) I hope you're well.
This was sooooo tingly
I like them all pj. You always sound great.
Natural is by far the one that sounds most organic and authentic to me. ❤
I love compressed SO MUCH!
It sounds hard to do, but oh my it sounds amazing.
If you do any more videos with it, I swear I will worship you like a god :D
The first version for sure ❤️
Honestly they all sound great in their own way, I would love to see you just try them out for various videos and triggers.
Your whispering is the best 🤤🤤
So the answer all along was to just lower the volume! Hahah great research video thank you PJ love learning while listening to ASMR
PS. I personally like the 1st method the most
This is now my go to asmr vid lol
Compressed is my favourite! 😴
Naturals the best for me!
As a musician, I always wondered if asmr videos used any sorts of audio editing and this video was really insightful
i love the way you say words 😃
sick video bro ✌🏻
2 natural the best!
my preference is the natural! i too prefer quiet asmr :)
Compressed and equilized are both AMAZING
quiet and natural the most tingly for meee!
Hey! Sorry if I bother you. I've recently made an asmr video of hair brushing super relaxing in no talking. Would you like to check it and let me know your feedback? Thank you so much for your time. See you soon and have a nice life! 🧡
Compressed gives me the "brush on the mic" effect, equalizer has crispy sounds, AI does not work on me at all as it seems. Nothing in AI just...stands out.
I definitely like the last one the best. I've been noticing the louder and sharper editing recently, and to be honest it's not something im personally a fan of. I like the quiet and less "sharp" or "crisp" sounds :))
Personally I did not like 2 (natural) because I felt like someone put sound deadener over my speaker. As someone on here said, "fuzzy". I like to hear all the ambient sounds clearly. My favorite was 1,4,3. Dead last was #2. That all said, PJ you do all your ASMR videos very well. Thank you and please continue to post!!
compressed is my favourite!
out of all of them i personally prefer the natural audio, to me it's just much more relaxing. love the vid tho!
I like natural and then compressed. Thank you for asking and the education.
I liked the natural one more! Since it's not your usual style of editing maybe you could do one video some day with that type of editing? I love all your videos anyway
Natural sounds best to me on my phone speakers. Sounds buttery smoooth fr
Loved A.I. and compressed the most
for me it went 2-1-4-3. fun video, i’m fond of whispers so it was a win for me :)
Welcome back. ^^
This is awesome and very interesting
Nice video and sound, personally i prefer the natural sound over the compressed, is more soft than the others, also equalized sounds quite similar to the natural one at least in soft speaking! Greetings from Chile!
So far I liked the first one way better than the second
wow the second one was perfect
Hope you feel better soon pj! Rest up💞
I liked the second one best! The last was good, too.
Whoooaaahoahoaahh. The AI editing is super incredible. The #4 section was totally transfixing. I know it's not your preference, but I think I'm so distractible that the extra volume gives me more room to work with, especially because I often watch multiple videos at the same time. (Watching any video of myself also makes me cringe out of my skull, btw. I don't know what's up with that. It's why I can't make videos. I just cannot edit them.)
equalizer made me shiver and i wasn't even paying attention... :o (maybe it's just because it felt louder and better after the natural? who knows...)
When you went from compressed to natural, my instinct was to increase my volume. Also, A.I kind of makes your S's too strong, but I like it because it sounds realistic. I like compressed.
You look so cute and cuddly while being a bit sick😍😍
