These aren’t just kids. This is the spirit and passion of YES being carried from generations and to the end of mankind. You guys are more than awesome. Simply amazing. Please, keep playing.
Hell, their parents were kids when this came out in late '72! Great job! However... you gotta sing at a higher pitch (I think that's right, or is it octave...?) to match Jon Anderson...

Probably one of the most complex songs by one of the most musically talented bands I listen to. I cannot imagine being told I would learn and perform this 17+ minute song in, what, a couple weeks? I bet most of them never heard this song before hearing that news. That's what's blowing my mind.
@George Robartes Great comment, thanks for sharing this history! I will add as a happy footnote that I did see ABWH play the entire track in 1989 when I was precisely these kids' ages. Needless to say my life was never the same.
@George Robartes I'm still pissed at Rick lol. I covered the Six Wives excerpts twice at school shows while in high school in the late 70s, and my band performed Close to the Edge in 79. So needless to say, I was a major Rick fan. Then in 84, Rick did a gig in Windsor, Ontario the same year my band won the WRIF Detroit battle of the bands. The whole band went to see Rick at this venue with an audience of only 400 people. All the staffers promised we'd have a chance to meet Rick after the show, but he boogied out of there the instant he left the stage. Arrgh! The closest thing I got to revenge was when Keith Emerson's engineer opined that I was a better keyboard player than Rick. I'm not, but it sure felt good to hear lol.
@@greatsajby9266 I've seen yes play close to the edge live in Detroit back sometime around the late 70s early 80s. Don't remember for sure which time though.

My comment lands some 8 years after the posting but better late than never. I am utterly amazed and blown away, having since 1975 seen various Yes line-ups play this. How these youngsters can learn this and deliver it to such perfection is unbelievable. I was in local bands for many years as a guitarist (now retired) but that guitarist here is stunning - he plays the whole song with such ease. Credit to every other performer too. I watched right to the end and was only disappointed that they didn't get a standing ovation instead of being rushed off the stage by the next band. Once again, utterly brilliant.
WHAT? They are absolutely insane. So tight, so well performed. You need to be so brave to take the challenge of this song, let alone killing it. I can't believe it, great job.
Wow! I hope Jon, Steve, Bill and Rick have seen this. And Chris smiling on from some cosmically inspired Roger Dean worldscape. I actually had tears in my eyes watching and listening .
Again, So Tired of people on this site dissing this young kids vocals. I'm a vocalist and musician myself. My question to those I speak about is this?? Where has this young man ever go flat on his vocals??? Not only that, do you people realize how young he is??? To do such a complex piece of musical art vocally At His Age gains my utmost respect!! You need to stop it cause you want to be critical when you don't know what you're talking about. Let me ask you all a question. Where were you musically at that age???
Mike Brennan, I agree with you. The lead vocalist has been a little bit unfairly criticized - though I will say that Jon Anderson and Chris Squire are a vocally very hard act to follow (especially on this song). Having said that, this young man, along with all those kids, did a very very admirable job of recreating a moment in time and music that was truly life changing - for me and many other musicians. Bravo!!
I don't see anything wrong with his singing. I think maybe he needs to work on his breathing technique. He seems to have some trouble holding some of the longer notes out. But that will probably come with more experience.
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I'm in tears!! AMAZING!!! I wish Chris Squire could have heard this before he passed. Guys and gals, you did well and as a huge Yes fan, you play this, there is nothing you cannot achieve. Best wishes.
Mitch Aunger You know what?? I turned my kids onto great music. Even got my 2nd born son an acoustic guitar but he ignored it. I gave him his space yet continued to expose him to music. Had to let my children have their own path. Now, that same child is a multi instrumentalist in a band called Sherry Drive. They released an album called Fly where he plays keys and does the scream parts vocally. They also do a cover of a song called Starboy and do it better (in my opinion) than the original. He the one playing bass with the ball cap on backward doing the background vocals. It didn't matter to me what path or interest he chose but surprised the hell out of me and first chose the military, then chose music.
To add to it, each child is gifted in their own way. Never expected this child to choose music but it happened. I had to allow him his space to choose his own destiny. If he chose something different, as long as it was productive, I would have supported him anyways.

Great job.
DAMN ! The DRUMMER is really nailing Bruford's parts note for note.
Such complicated music played with such fervor by some so young. The talent is mind-boggling.
I LOVE seeing the kids discover Yes!
steve howe should seek this kid out and give him one of his gibson 335s sign it, it would change his life
Steve predominantly used 345s
Brilliant! Love you guys!
I've suddenly gained new hope in the youth of tomorrow.

I think Yes would really enjoy listening to you.
the music from the Yessongs time are solid pieces of music. Your playing was /is super. I was 19 when it was released. Where are you all now??????????? Thank you.
totally into the sound! thank you so much!there is still hope!!! music!
I now have faith in todays youth, lost it there for awhile.
YES fan for 50 years. These kids are PHENOMENAL!!! Sign on the dotted line!
At the end (probably they must have to) it was such a shame that they couldn't enjoy the applauding of the audience a bit longer because another band had to come up stage immediately. :(
What an astonishing performance this was! Goosebumps all over my body, truly! I wonder where they are now and still performing Yes together! :o
Well done! Excellent job! I am amazed
