Hi, great video, you can spin the channel selection knob to change letters as well.

If I understand your question correctly, no. The character input is through the touch screen, which works very well.

HEY great job on your video! I have a Yaesu FT-70DR and it is good but rather have the FT-2D like you have in this video :-( Thanks again for the great video from N4TUX Boyd Travis Kingsport TN.

What happens if you press the SPARK-ROOM button on main screen? And next question, does it work with MMDVM hotspots as well?

Hi, appreciate your videos, thank you! General questions about the computer portion of wires-x. 1) Is it better to have a desktop set aside from desk where transceivers are to reduce RF interference, or is a laptop or all in one next to transmitters ok? 2) For same RF interference, is it better to be ethernet cable connected, or use the wifi from router to said computer? Thanks, Glenn

Hi Glenn. I'm operating several Wires X nodes in digital. Most are on laptops. No RF problems whatsoever. Keep your antenna outside your immediate operating area with good coax. I also use ethernet and WiFi. Both work flawlessly, assuming you have good bandwidth for your internet service. Enjoy!

Great video. Is it possible to use an OpenSpot2 with a Yaesu FT70D? if so can you do an instructional video? Many Thanks for all your hard work,.

Thanks for your comments, Larry. I don’t have any experience with the Openspot 2 but I am using a zumspot. The YSF reflectors can be selected by Wires X on the zumspot but not the FCS reflectors. You might find more info from the Openspot forum.

@@mmlanger55 I can access YSF and FCS on the ZumSpot.

@@donh5794 Hi Don. You can access both YSF and FCS reflectors with the Zumspot. But controlling which reflector you are on by WIres X with the FCS reflectors is a bit more tricky. I find I have bring up search results to make the FCS choice. I have not found a means to direct enter the FCS number.

@@mmlanger55 On my ZumSpot and my other Pi-Star based hotspots, after pressing the Wires-X button to connect to the hotspot, I press search on the FT-2DR then press ID and enter the number (without typing FCS or preceding zeros). The correct FCS comes up every time.
The FCS numbers are different than the YSF numbers. The search does not work if connected to a reflector. In that case, I press the Wires-X button to get out of that mode and press it again to go back in. The last reflector flashes indicating it's not connected. The FCS # search will work again as described.

When I hit the x command to start the connection I lose the offset. I have the offset set to - and when I do the x command it does not do the offset and the sub menu resorts back to simplex...no offset. HELP.....

Would your setting for Wires X Freq be set to manual? Look under Disp>Wires-X>1 RPT/WIRES FREQ> (Should be set to manual)
