I love the irony of this episode ending with Jack and Ashley becoming friends.
Jack literally did most of the work even if she didn’t want to at first.
Plus Rachel liking the real Ashley less than she did the fake one.
I feel bad for Rachel though, the real Ashley and Jack have way more in common. She's kind of alone again, even Ashley Too is too extreme for her.
@Jack K I think HM fans grew up and probably had their taste change alongside Miley Cyrus's image changing too. It wasn't like Miley suddenly got into Metal in the late '00s.

This episode will forever be underrated. There's a lot more going on than just it being a "Disney" version of Black Mirror. Too many people seem to be against Cyrus just because she's primarily a singer, but she stole the show in this episode.
drlee2 I actually love Miley Cyrus but the episode really disappointed me. I really wanted to love it, just like the whole season but I just didn’t. There wasn’t anything special about it. It didn’t dig deep enough.

The episode was essentially Miley's feelings toward working for Disney, and likely how she feels about the company now.
Not to mention I love that Rachel is still standing by Ashley even through this dramatic change. It was a nice wholesome ending, which honestly the episode couldve made the ending become WAY Darker

I think that was suppose to be a small tell that there was more inside Ashley Too than meets the eye. It's like when stars get asked ridiculous questions during interviews and sometimes they cleverly retaliate by being smartasses. Ashley Too WAS Ashley, just limited to only the part of her brain that knew how to deal with the press. As far as Jack goes, she listened to her mother's music as a way to greive and cope with her loss. Where her father put his life into his work and Rachel put hers into Ashley O's music.

At that point I thought the episode would go deeper into either 1.) Companies being creepy collecting as much information about their customers via unsuspecting tech like AshleyToo or 2.) Smart self learning tech like AshleyToo learning so much about the kids who bought them that they emotionally/psychologically controlling them to only have AshleyToo as their only friend and buy more of their products. but then it didn't really get darker than that dark joke/sassy remark

I think Miley related to the concept on a personal level so she decided to do the episode, like when she was doing Hannah Montana everyone perceived her as a perfect child actor. When really she was growing up and found the stuff she actual likes. And for that I respect her and her music so much more. Always loved Hannah Montana but I think I’d rather love someone living their truth than a lie.

Yeah I just read an interview with her yesterday, and she accepted the role because of how close it felt to her real experiences.
She's wonderful. I actually prefer this to "On a Roll," which she also sings very well, but this has grit. I was very impressed by her acting in the episode as well. Very talented young woman.
