  • Hi Loves,
So, I wanted to share more about my ALOPECIA STORY in one video to wrap up this journey. Thank you to everyone that has supported me through it all. Alopecia Areata is not something I ever expected to deal with, but that's life. So many of us suffer and silence, but I wanted to be open and honest about my ALOPECIA JOURNEY.

Honey! I’m a baldie babe by choice 💅🏾 I’ve been cutting my hair every couple months for the past 5 years!! I love the way tapered hair looks on me. Anyone can slap on a wig and make that work but it takes a certain type of beauty to rock tapered hair.

Thank you for sharing! I also want to applaud your husband for supporting you and continuing to love with or without hair. There are so many woman who are not having those experiences and we also see men constantly defining a woman's beauty based upon the length of her hair. They seem to be more concerned about what others will say rather than loving their spouses for inner and outer beauty.

Hello, I identify with everything you've said! It took me many years to own my alopecia. I went through those shots, pills and many dermatologists. It was not until my 72nd birthday that I stop hiding under wigs. I sometimes will wear a wig, but honestly, I now prefer my bald look and wish I had done it sooner. Thank you for sharing your experience. It will help a lot of people! You look beautiful!!🥰

Hi am from South Africa and I just came across your video and it was so engaging and it really takes so much before you can make that decision. I am struggling for years with alopecia and live in so much fear of what will people think about me with out my hair. But I can't take it anymore and I have so much depression and anxiety that it really took all my joy. I basically give up so to that I am just staying indoors and want to see anyone. But this video is so much encouraging I will definitely follow you. You so beautiful and it make me realize that hair does not define us. I really hope that I will eventually get to the point of making the decision to cut it of or my sides. I salute you brave women 👏👏👏

    Hi
Love your confidence. I too finally stop swimming against the current and have embraced my shaved head. It felt great to just be me and after shaving I found a bigger love for myself. Its empowering. I felt like a Goddess with my long hair for many years but learned that my hair did not defined who I am. Now I love it and wear my skin with pride. God placed that hair on my head and if He choose to take it back I respect His decision. Society can be harsh but my self love overcomes their ignorance and I just teach every one of them as they approach me with knowledge and courage. Be blessed 🙏🙌

Was just diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia. Had locs down to my hips and saw some thinning at the top, cut them a few months ago and have been rocking my loose natural hair. But it was getting worse, so went to the dermatologist and yesterday they confirmed what it was. So about to start a regimen, but I am cutting my hair shorter this weekend either way.
You look absolutely gorgeous. The cut makes your eyes pop. 😍

Don’t know how I missed your videos and channel. I’d been looking for videos when my alopecia took a turn for the worse. I started having alopecia in 2014 but never severe enough where I had to shave my head until 2020/21. I used clippers for a few months then I decided to shave to see what the clean look would look like. Since shaving, it turned into Alopecia Universalis. Since the end of summer last year, I haven’t had a hair on my body. This is so traumatizing. I can relate to the long bouts of depression. I was suicidal for a while. My husband is very supportive as well and shaved my head initially. I would not have made it without his support. Thank you for sharing your journey.

I look at you and automatically see a young woman blessed with an absolutely beautiful face. I am an older woman recently diagnosed with Alopecia Areta. It really is an emotional challenge. There is so much information out there. I like your approach. It is wise to gain as much information as possible. Most importantly a trusted Dermotologist essential to treatment. My patches are on top of scalp and very noticeable. For now, I am more comfortable with a wig. If I had your youthful and flawless face, I would shave my hair. I bet there are many woman who would give up their hair to have your face.

I too am an older woman. My crown has become thin. Alopecia is a part of my family history. I don't like wigs, never have. I am looking for a good barber to cut my hair. I'm not wasting money on a Dermetologist...I'm going with the cards dealt...accept and deal with being beautiful without hair...beauty is within you. I'm Bleessed I am on top the ground and not beneath it.

Omg, thank you for letting me know I’m not alone. Everything you’ve said is what I’m dealing with right now today. Had locs for 10+ years middle started thinning and spreading. Up style all the time my sides started thinning and middle was spreading. So I did the big chop. Did the clue add on pieces but that’s not who I am. So to the dermatologist I went. He looked at my head for all of a second and recommended soap and topical drops and supplements. My hair is doing exactly what you said. It growing and falling at the same time. I was scared to do the boy cut me being lesbian I didn’t want ppl to think I’m cutting my hair on some man kick but as I’m expressing my reasons my lover and real friends assured me that who I think ppl may see is not who I am. Since my appt I’ve been wearing turbans. They are getting the job done for work and outings however I still don’t feel my confident self. So I’m ready to shave it all off and be my free loving self. My follow up appointment is next week and I feel a shave coming. Again thank you for this video.

I have just shaved my head after suffering with AA for over 10yrs....I am tired of ''hiding' underneath these wigs. The moment I stepped into the Cuttery i threw my wig into my handbag. I stepped out to my car feeling like a 20yr old model, at 64yrs old.
You see, been wanting to shave my head from I noticed that I was getting bald in the crown and frontal of my scalp, but I couldn't muster up the inner strength to do it ( shave)
So I was more than ready in my 60s I even bought my own sheer along with some large hoop and dangling earrings. NB. My grown daughters gave me the inspiration seeing that I was struggling AND suffering with Alopecia A.

I was diagnosed with Alopecia in 2000. I went natural and my hair grew back so thick and lively and full. I enjoyed my locs for almost 20 yrs. Then it came back during the onset of multiple illnesses (including but not limited to anemia and hbp) a specialist told me it was ccca (scarring alopecia)- I did the injections, creams, ointments and we suffered a miscarriage shortly thereafter. We lost a pregnancy that we spent almost 18 yrs praying for. They told me the treatments were the safest option. She told me the hairloss was likely genetic. But I am the ONLY onesin my family experiencing hairloss and baldness. Dr told me it wasn’t anything I did. Ppl are popping up w ccca that never wore braids, never had perms, never straightened their hair. Bc it’s an auto-immune disease that targets the hair follicles (on your head or in some cases all over your body). But she told me what my heart needed. Bc other professionals , friends, acquaintances would suggest otherwise . However Dr Amy told me that African Americans have the most fragile hair and we have less hair on our heads than any other ethnicity. Our hair is also the most “under-studied” yet we make companies RICH with wealth from purchasing their products. I’ve lost almost 60% of my hair and it’s taking a toil on me. Bc so much of who we ate as women is wrapped up in our hair. Look into our pantries for the evidence. I’ve decided I’m not losing anymore sleep (or peace) over it. I am contemplating cutting it all off but refrain bc i don’t know How’s to handle the regrowth… I’ve never been a hands in my hair sister. But I’ve decided to learn my lesson during this season to embrace my peace and healing, to TRUST God and to love MYself. With or without hair. It’s a new page in this sweet journey ~#my testimony
You are simply beautiful 💕 thank you for your bravery and for sharing your journey. Blessings and love ❤️

@@Booksandarts it’s growing back in stages… the balding then places are still very thin but I do have some fuzzies.. I tried cleaning up my diet a bit. Less dairy, less starchy foods and more fresh, more water. I wash my hair weekly and keep scalp moisturized. I also found I was anemic so started a vitamin again and iron infusions. It’s hard sometimes but I remind myself true beauty shines from within and I am not my hair. May you find peace sis 🤍

It appears you have tattoos. Please DO NOT get tattoos. Your skin is your largest organ and part of the lymphatic system. When you get tattoos, that ink permanently goes into your organ and affects your lymphatic system, compromising (i.e. clogging) it from being able to adequately rid your system of toxins. The role of the lymphatic system is to eliminate toxins from the body. Because you have impaired your lymphatic systems by getting tattoos, this may result in auto-immune disease such as the one you are now experiencing or lupus, etc.
