For real lol, I actually never owned one but always thought that generation looked sick and those 6.0’s screamed so nice. From everything I’ve heard though, that is it.. 😂
@@elijahbyers5960 I’ve made mine reliable for 4 years, from what I’ve seen it’s cheap parts, poor maintenance, and beating tf out of it that kill it. Head gaskets are the last failure that happens and whenever that does happen there was 3 other things that they ignored to get to that point and it’s basically the truck screaming “you’re fucking retarded”
I would check up pipes behind turbo for cracks, exhaust manifold gaskets for leaks. Those are biggest symptoms of boost leaks. Had to do both those on my old 07 I had. Love the truck.
Yes I just put new inter cooler pipes on mine last night the driver side inter cooler pipe (the plastic) it had a crack 3 inches or more down the stock tube
You’d be able to hear if the manifolds were leaking but up pipes for sure gotta be checked, a good listen and smell around the engine bay will tell you a lot
Few ideas on the lack of boost if you don’t find any loose or cracked boots, starting with the simplest first. Definitely replace that air filter. Go back with a paper one if you plan on dirt/gravel roads, like a Napa 6637 and a prefilter. Other than that I would suggest checking out the air-to-air(intercooler), maybe pressure testing it for leaks. The plastic sides tend to be an issue on them. That’s the intake side, as far as exhaust leaks causing low boost, check for soot on/around your up-pipes to the turbo. All is assuming turbo is functioning properly o course.
I feel you Kenny, my ex would get mad and literally punch me and call me a pussy and when I got would hold her back or push her away she would scream “get your hands off me” and make me feel like a person I know I wasn’t, stay strong keep your head up
I’ve got a 6.0 as well… my favorite truck so far. Best word of advance from a 6.0 owner change fuel filters often… don’t let them go a long time before changing them. Katskin are the best seat covers for those trucks as well.
Check the first 2 or so feet of your exhaust right behind your turbo, sometimes they can get hit and crack and chip, also could be in the manifold or like you said all the boots
I stuffed a piece of wood under my box corner to level it out. Drove it like that for 3 years till I scrapped it. Best of luck with life and the new truck bud!
Kenny, Both ends of the stock intercooler are plastic. Over time they tend to get brittle and crack or the little aluminum feet peel up causing a leak. The best way to check (this goes for any location boost leak) is to take the CAC boot off the cold side and pump in smoke. Alternatively if you don't have a smoke machine you can visually inspect the whole system but it will be hard to see some spots, espically if it is an intercooler problem. Let me know if you have questions.
6.0 owner here, my best assumption is that your boost leak is coming from the up-pipe behind the turbo. You will be able to tell if there is soot on the firewall. Another place on the stock trucks (not yours) is the plastic charge pipe they use (black one on yours) tends to crack and lose boost. Hope I helped!
You picked a great first diesel to learn to work on 6.0s are one of the easier diesel engines to work on and yours being a 05 should be easy since the cab change from 04 makes the turbo easier to get out and all that jazz but aye keep the fluids and filters maintained and maybe a blue spring kit and you’ll be good and watch your temps
Damn😂 I got the exact same truck just a different color about 2 years ago.. I'm embarrassed to even say we spent 17k on it.. engine light turned on on our way home.. found out that they SPRAY painted the damn thing so it didn't look rusted 😂😂it was so rusted the bed almost fell off.. now our credit is fckd up and we are still makin payments on that thing even tho the breaks are shot and it don't run no more haha.. you lucked out for sure! Yours looks a lot healthier
You trucks are way better than my 01 ford ranger 3.slow 2wd but it gets me to where I need to go but I would love to have the 6.0 keep up the great work
At the rate ur peeling there won't be anybody left for next time. You have traps now! Domestic stuff is better left unsaid except where it is really necessary. You are wise and mature to take the route you did. Beware the wrath of a woman scorned said someone to me once. The haircut and shiny truck bodes you well. Good video. Pax.
Getting into the warmer months now, but once it gets consistently below 50 degrees, plug it in over night, and idc about you other people saying “oh well “then just replace your glow plugs” or “your truck just a pos if you gotta plug it in” it’s a simple thing to do that makes it way easier on the motor and internals
Kenny.....thank you so much for making another Video. LOVE the new truck. Hope you have fun with it !!! Probably a good thing that you took the high road with all the drama. Break ups are hard enough without all that. When that right person comes along you will know it.
had a 01 duramax do the same thing, if your coolant bottle is sooty and your slowly losing coolant its probably headgaskets. squeeze the upper rad hose while the truck is off, if its rock solid you got headgasket issues. hope this helps
kenny ik you're probably going through a lot and man i've watched your videos for a WHILE me and my friends always loved your videos and thought you're hilarious now it's just me bud, i know you and i know you wouldn't do anything like that just keep your head up man ❤
Don’t know if the Fords are the same, but GM truck stuck dinger can usually be fixed by taking ignition lock out and slathering some super lube on all the parts. The grease in there is usually petrified from age and has the key in ignition switch stuck on
Bro I just bought a 6.0 today and then seen this vid of ol kendawg goin at it too. The same reason. Sounds badass and wanting to expand my mechanical knowledge
boost leak could be a number of things, mine currently is a cracked up pipe- first thing i’d check is the top and bottom boots on the CAC pipe “boost tube” or turbo pipe. those often crack and the silicone ones are shit, but all oem parts or you’ll have more issues later on down.
Love the truck, love the sound, but hate the 6.blow life. Three head gaskets later made me a new duramax owner. I haven't looked back ever since. Good luck, bro. Maybe yours will be a different story
For the boost problem, check how much psi its reading. Stock shouldn’t be anything about 22psi, and for the chime, sometimes lifting the steering wheel helps.
I saw it on snap when you first bought it, that’s my old truck I’m the one that did all the motor work to it if you have any questions. The car lot that posted it didn’t know what all was done to it but I can tell ya a lot. That’s not an after market turbo btw i pulled it off of an 03. It’s a 10 blade instead of the 12 that came stock that’s why it’s got a louder whistle
love the truck bro i jus got my first diesel truck i got a 01 dodge 2500. like you said they sound so good with the turbo sounds. keep yo the work love the videos
You can get kits to test boost leaks or just make one you’ll seal the intake housing of the turbo and pressurize it then go over all intake boots and what not with soapy water if it’s only making 10psi that’s insanely low
Man I love a 6.0 just recently got a 2003 6.0 after havin a 1999 dodge 3500 with a 24v she all stock but got it for 3k put 6k worth of work and she mint stock I outran some sorta camara and kept up with an older jaguar gonna get a tuner full exhaust injectors and a bigger turbo when I can afford it
Nothing wrong with the 6.0. I have a 2007 that’s all original, well maintained, tows heavy loads daily. Good truck. You won’t blow a head gasket unless you heavily tune it or the EGR cooler starts leaking.
I have a 05, about the door chime, remove the steering wheel plastic to get to the ignition and pull the wire going to the ignition, now when you open the door the alarm don’t go off at all
I own an 05 f350 6oh and it’s 234k miles and it’s been really good for me so far and all stock except it’s deleted and straight piped but other than that all stock and she’s a fixer upper but she’s fun and been really good for me
I’m not a ford diesel fan in most areas but I can definitely say 6.0’s when they are done right are tremendous diesels! And also you saying that it may be harder to work on bc it’s diesel not necessarily my duramax is honestly way easier to work on then my gas trucks because everything is very very straight forward on diesels unlike gasoline engines where you need 75 different things to run it in todays world 😂
We put aftermarket fuel systems(always used air dog) but they both helped save the motor and other fuel components. That’s my opinion but still love the videos
Check map sensor hose that runs from intake to the map sensor they can crack and Map sensor won’t read right so it won’t build full boost, make sure you can blow through the hose that the nipple on the intake isn’t clogged,
Might not be a boost leak. The variable veins in the turbo might be all dirty and sticking. Causes low boost at lower rpms. It’s pretty common. You can take the turbo out and pull the exhaust housing off the turbo to replace it.
Let that shit all go Bro!! Don't ever even stress 1 more day, ever. We are nothing alike but we're exactly the same. Enjoy the moments and I'll enjoy your vids for hopefully moments to come!!
Might check the vgt wires and sh!t. My buddy had a problem with that and it wouldn’t build and boost because the turbo veins weren’t doing what they where suppose to
Good thing is 6.0s are ungodly easy to work on, and they’re pretty cheap to fix in comparison to other diesels, that’s the best diesel to start out on, unlike that Lb7 you bought years ago lol
I wouldn’t stress about the head gasket that’s the easy stuff that is a fairly permanent fix once you put some good heads, studs, and gaskets. I would worry about the shit that’s just going to keep going out like injectors and oil leaks on the high pressure oil side. Oil cooler can be fixed same with the ficm plus if you have a monitor and know what your looking for you’ll be good. It’ll save you
I found your video. I feel your joy. I also bought a 7.3 diesel last month and I feel exactly the same. It's old, rusty and eats fuel like mf, but I still like it more than anything else. Small video of my grandpa on my channel.
I have a 6.0 and after I did my egr delete I didn’t tighten my charge pipe all the way down and got nearly no boost so make sure it ain’t blown off or loose
Y pipe probably cracked. Check around for black soot around band clamps for the turbo and boots. If not that , your vgt solenoid could be not actuating the vanes in the turbo, to open fully to allow more air(more boost) you should be making 26-30 lbs of boost when you Matt it to the floor, especially if you have it chipped/tuned
Bro Kenny keep doing what your doing and don’t let that girl affect u, your 100% right the courts do favor woman she probably dropped the charges cause she knew she was in the wrong. Hope your doing well man keep up the great content!
Only real OGs remember when Kenny had that Dmax for like a month

My stock 6.0 makes 22
its always great to see a youtuber I have been watching for a long time achieve something they have always wanted to. Congrats on the truck ken dog!!
I feel you Kenny, my ex would get mad and literally punch me and call me a pussy and when I got would hold her back or push her away she would scream “get your hands off me” and make me feel like a person I know I wasn’t, stay strong keep your head up
Man congratulations on getting away from it though
I feel that
Sounds exactly like my girlfriends mom and dad lmao
I was in the same situation senior year of high school.
You sound soft. All of you do. Shame.

I love this truck already!! He got a steal on the price and the grin on my face when he rolled coal!!😂
It sounds good awesome too me too I love it so
Put in a new torber on it
Always a good day when Kenny posts love your content bro always brings me joy
New truck looking dope. Keep your head up Kenny, can’t be loosing your mind over someone who don’t mind loosing you.
Check your vacuum lines, and check the butterfly valve on the turbo pedestal. If both is good check to make sure the turbo doesn’t have a lot of slop.
New trucks looking good, good thing this one doesn’t need new injectors right after you bought it! 😂
Check the first 2 or so feet of your exhaust right behind your turbo, sometimes they can get hit and crack and chip, also could be in the manifold or like you said all the boots
Least you keeping it real 😂😂 I love diesels too for the sound even though they're trying to get rid of em all
I’m glad too see you happy man and all the success you have gotten 🤙🏽
😂 the 6.0 sound. Lmao
I stuffed a piece of wood under my box corner to level it out. Drove it like that for 3 years till I scrapped it. Best of luck with life and the new truck bud!
I was so excited too when I got my first diesel 2 years ago but I got a 7.3. My favorite diesel sound is a 12v cummins 👍

You should put a 9 blade turbo on it instead of the stock 12, takes a little longer to spool but it makes more boost and give you a better top end
That is going to be fun to and so very much forever always now on my friend that's sounds good awesome too me and yes good idea to
that’s definitely not a stock turbo or 12 blade. that’s either a KC stage 1 10 blade or another brand 10 blade.
Fuck a 9 blade. Go T4 or smeding makes a drop in non vgt 362 for less than 900 bucks out the door
@@FadelStepzZ it’s a 10 blade came off an 03 I got it for free so figured I’d slap it on there

Sweet frisking truck bro! Speaking of fishin’, idk if you still have that pond by your house but it’d be cool to see ya fish it
Very nice truck reminds me of my old days of owning a diesel
For the low boost could just need a fresh fuel filter, when they get old it really lags diesels
The hitch on the red truck 🤣🤣
I have a 2004 ford excursion 6.0 that i have had for 2 years I absolutely love it
Hell yah brothaa

Let that shit all go Bro!! Don't ever even stress 1 more day, ever.

Learning Kenny had nothing on his record yet"reeeeeeeally?" 😂
Might check the vgt wires and sh!t. My buddy had a problem with that and it wouldn’t build and boost because the turbo veins weren’t doing what they where suppose to
Hood Stack that mug,Nice truck.
Blue 6.0’s are goated 🐐
Kenny you never fail to impress me you’re a good man!
Second gen swap 6.7 Cummins is the best sounding diesel
Good thing you dropped her crazy ass, she was a solid 4 anyways. Now you can step it up with your new 6.0

It’ll save you
Hey they make a rubber boot u can put over your turbo with a air chuck on it to check for boost leaks
welcome to 6.0 life I've had mine for a year love it even if it's spent more time in my garage then the road.
You gotta get archoil fuel and oil additives for it. It is so worth it for a 6.0
Archoil oil additives is one of the only products for anything I will ever stand by, that stuff is legit magic
I found your video. I feel your joy. I also bought a 7.3 diesel last month and I feel exactly the same. It's old, rusty and eats fuel like mf, but I still like it more than anything else. Small video of my grandpa on my channel.
I also have a 05 6.0 I love mine congratulations man you deserve great things
I have a 6.0 and after I did my egr delete I didn’t tighten my charge pipe all the way down and got nearly no boost so make sure it ain’t blown off or loose
Y pipe probably cracked. Check around for black soot around band clamps for the turbo and boots. If not that , your vgt solenoid could be not actuating the vanes in the turbo, to open fully to allow more air(more boost) you should be making 26-30 lbs of boost when you Matt it to the floor, especially if you have it chipped/tuned
Changed the back ground music love it😎
Love the video brother keep up the good work, definitely loving the new truck I can’t wait to get my own 6.0
To stop the dinging just take the ignition out there’s a metal ground tab take that off and it’ll stop
Bro Kenny keep doing what your doing and don’t let that girl affect u, your 100% right the courts do favor woman she probably dropped the charges cause she knew she was in the wrong. Hope your doing well man keep up the great content!
Hell yeah, that’s awesome. Probably has a tear in an intercooler boot. Should be an easy fix.
Boost like could be from your intercooler piping, up pipes to the collector on the turbo. Mainly any airflow to or out of the turbo
