Recently I learned that those training chutes auto-open at a certain height.
I know on static line parachutes they have a back up parachute which opens if you are dropping to quickly, normally at 1000 feet. I would assume free fall parachutes have the same sort of thing but probably higher than 1k.

They have their pros and cons, but most benefit of them being mandatory.
Gordon, 1000 feet is a bit high for my taste.
You don't want them to open the reserve while your main is still deploying.
That will make the main and reserve entangle. So generally the AAD (auto open thing) is set low enough that it's really your last chance and if main and reserve do entangle they won't entangle enough to loose all drag.

I’m thinking that’s just a regular hiking path that’s been taken over by mountain bikers. There’s a set of steps at the bottom of the footbridge.
@@randygreen007 yes, the mountain bikers are selfish, thoughtless for using it, could easily hurt innocent walkers....mtb courses should be marked as such and be segregated, this was a footpath, foot being the operative word

What I find funny or sad is that EVERYONE has to record EVERYTHING .
Documentation bias. We only see the things that people _did_ record, because there's no record of the times that _weren't_ caught on camera. It's the same reason it seems like only people with cameras noclip into the Backrooms, because people that didn't fall in with a camera have no proof they ended up there.

@@fp9623 in USA school buses have stop sign on the side when parked. I guess that when kids are going in and out you cannot pass the bus for safety reasons but some American can correct me :)

Yes in that clip, you see a school bus stopped with its lights on (looking in the mirror). Passing a stopped school bus with its lights on/sign out is one of the worst things you can do behind the wheel. In some states you can lose your license for up to a year if a cop witnesses it and pulls you over. Lesser offenses are points on your license (which increases your monthly insurance rates) and with enough accrued points from other offenses can also lead to revocation of your license. If a cop is not present and a bus camera picks it up, the driver can incur a heavy fine.@@fp9623
