Superloop SL1: London's NEWEST BUS ROUTE!

- In this video, I headed out to north London to try out London's newest bus route on its first day of service, the SL1 that runs between Walthamstow Central and North Finchley. I discuss the Superloop generally and discuss my thoughts!

Great video. Good to see better connectivity. Sorry to be that chap but the bus is actually just an Alexander Dennis Enviro 400H City - it’s a diesel hybrid. The BYD ones are full electric. These buses were amongst the first of the City design and feature ‘New Routemaster’ themed interiors. Hence the gold hand poles and interior trim. Apparently it was designed with the intention of it being standardised in interiors across all buses but it never happened.

Love it. I would also love to see a loop system that utilised the M25. The links between outer Enfield and Watford are currently dire.
imagine a version of the Arriva 724 that went all around the M25 haha!

'SL4' will be the last one of Superloop on X239, '239' does not carry on TfL somewhere along the line but should be given Sydenham - Blackheath Shooters Hill Road, Sun-in-the-Sands (New Stand) follow by 'SL4' via Westwood Hill, Newlands Park, Lennard Road, Kings Hall Road, Bridge Road, Copers Cope Road, Southend Road, Beckenham Hill Road, Bromley Road, Bellingham Road, Hazelbank Road, Verdant Lane, South Circular Road, Burnt Ash Hill, Lee Road, Royal Parade, Prince of Wales Road and Shooters Hill Road. I see Lawrie Park Gardens bus stands around Sydenham. 239 is the lowest TfL. 🤔

It would be nice have express service from Harrow weald garage to Paddington Green to meet up SL10 and SL9 at Harrow on hill station & Harrow bus station
Why are buses so good in London?
The one i say runs side 182 & 18 Harrow weald garage to Paddington Green?
These aren't new bus routes ;they are the X route buses which were before even that the Tellings Golden Miller 7 prefixed buses.

Absolute waste of resources and shows how the Mayor DOES NOT understand public transport or how to run it. Most long routes in London were taken off or shortened due to traffic congestion. The SL1 is a prime example of this this with average journey times in peaks of over an hour end to end, it is actually quicker to take the normal buses. Any sort of problem on the A406 and this route is no use to anyone, what a waste of 11 buses and tax payers money.
Anyone that knows the 34 and SL1 would know it's not an easy route to run. So to say it's a waste of a resource is not a good take.
@@matthewk9131 A prime reason why it should not exist, the loadings are negligible. Complete waste of public money that could be spent elsewhere improving NHS or Police, Ambulance services... The 34 is easily enough to cope with the loads over these corridors, and unless Khan is going to stop cars in North London the traffic will never be any less.
@paulstevens9746 Firstly I've been on the 34 loads of times in my life and live close to the route, to the point I've endured the hard times when it used to be a single decker back in the 90s. I've also lived through the NCR works when that was taken place. It's not as if the 34 has been truncated. Fair play it's had it's frequency slightly reduced but honestly the SL1 has now created a new link to North Finchley which in turn has opened up more areas. Whilst I get the funding can go to other stuff you do realise Khan is NOT responsible for the NHS. That's the government's remit so you need to direct your anger at them.
@@matthewk9131 I have no anger. I am fully aware that Khan is not in charge of the NHS in London yet, but he does have totalitarian leanings and no doubt would if he could. The SL1 has been running a while now and there are no signs of any increase in patronage from when it started in fact possibly the opposite. My views from experience and observations.
@paulstevens9746 It's only just been around for under two months. That's not enough time to judge the service as a whole. If you said you've been watching it for a year or so then I could say it holds weight. You sound like you want it to fail just so you can say I told you so.
