No worries, I was under a rock too…a rock inside a cave. It was only a couple short years ago I discovered the incredible ladies. I was YouTubing and looking for metal cover songs and found Leo Moracchioli’s channel, loving lots of his heavy heavy covers. Then I listen to his covers for a group called black pink??…whatever that is, and listened to his three cover songs. Wow, they were good but I doubted I’d like the original artist or artists, maybe because I saw they were k-pop and I was mostly ignorant of what that really was. The rest is history as I’m still plunging headfirst at 205 mph into the BLΛƆKPIИK rabbit hole! Excellent reaction to this very unique and amazing song 👍🖤💜🖤💜
Good reaction. As many have commented below, Blackpink debuted with 2 songs: Whistle (currently 867 million CZcams views) and Boombayah (currently 1.6 billion CZcams views). Although Boombayah has been much more popular, their early music awards came from Whistle, that is a favorite of the hard core Blink fans. YG management actually tried to persuade their producer against releasing that song as it didn't fit the YG rap focused format.

this was their debut song, Boombayah was released approx. 2 days later. They were not sure what to release first but after confering with Teddy, their producer they wanted to release something different to the kpop scene

Well don't worry about it. You've discovered them now. In 2018 I once saw them on a talkshow in USA and I didn't really like the song Ddu du ddu du (it was a hype then) So I nver looked into them. 2020and I acidently bumped into Kill this love because, yeah CZcams somehow shows me that. So I watched it and it blew me away. Started to look up more like How you like that and that too blew me away. In the beginning I didn't really like all songs but eventually all their songs grew on me and I can say they are the first ever to give songs which I all like. First few months I was looking up every song, guides and reactions of them.
My favorite blackpink song up until this day. And as if it's your last. It just hits different.

This WAS one of their debut songs. I think they hit really hard!!. As also mentioned already, Jisoo apparently does the whistling. She does it, I believe in the Light Up The Sky documentary. She does sort of like scat whistling (which prolly rarely comes in handy). It's a really cool talent. It's also interesting to note that Lisa is maybe 19 doing these things here. The others are barely 20. What an initial reviewer called, "4 skinny girls,.. who dance a little,. and can sing,.. a little" really hit the ground running a hundred miles an hour. They started doing person appearances, college festivals, TV & award show performances,... then haters went after Lisa really bad. Tried to BOO her out of the country,... it backfired eventually. As she became the favorite. In spite of the racist mean comments & yelling at her in public.
