Great to see you work mate. I used to do this in a similar manner but I wasnt happy with the results all the time so I bit the bullet and bought a 3D scanner. Best thing I ever did.
Cheers mate, I’ve just picked up a phone recently with LiDAR & have been playing with the “Magicplan” app. It’s pretty cool what you can do with a phone now. I might make a video on it soon. But I’d be keen to hear about your workflow. What scanner you bought & the software you import the point cloud into + how do you extrapolate it into a useable model.
@@archguide I ended up buying a Leica BLK360 a few years ago. I can create a point cloud in about 2.5 hours for a house the size you drew in your video. I process it in a Leica app on my computer and then slice it in Archicad and model on top while referencing and confirming dimensions with the first app. It is a very handy tool but also a major investments to make. It is a game changer and is very accurate to the point where you can see walls and floors sagging or sunning out of square lol

it would be really good to see this but with an actual survey for an exisiting dwelling - i struggle to find the best way to apporach this because the surveys always come back with wonky walls. Even overally wall widths differ in width from one end to the other
