- Yeeeeah surprise, i'm not dead everybody, i'm still here ;)
Just had a really busy and exhausting summer/autumn so yeah, there was not much motivation for editing either. At least not enough to get any further with my projects. I did start a few earlier this year, but oh look, we have december already. I was eager to finish this one tho since the Blake siblings and their dysfunctional relationship is like my favorite thing on the show. So i'm thrilled to finally be done with this tribute, not only cause of them also cause i had to let go of this project for my own sake.
This one is not about sraight forward storytelling, cause i felt like we've seen a lot of these around. I focused more on their feelings for each other and the constant back and forth. I know it's damn long, too long probably. But i couldn't help it, there's just A LOT of them.
I hope some of you will enjoy it tho. And yeah, can't wait to get back into vidding with new - less exhausting - projects :D

I wish I had the words to describe the genius of this video, the perfection of it. There are literally no words. Like in all your other videos, you once again captured the essence of the characters' stories, the core of who they are, and what pushes them forward and down. This time though, you manage to capture in perhaps the most perfect essence, one of most complicated and deeply flawed sibling relationships I have ever seen. Octavia and Bellamy, while products of the same environment, are different as the moon and the sun. Yet throughout the series, they are undeniably mirrors of each other, in the best and worst ways. And you managed to show all that in 5:18 seconds. Amazing, just amazing...

Anja...i'm...speechless. First of all, I can't believe it's here?!!??! And 5:18?!?! This has become one of my all time favourites of yours. It was just so seamless and all the parallels & voice-overs worked so amazingly. But the most incredible thing is how you managed to capture their relationship so beautifully. There were so many parts that gave me literal chills. The intro 0:00-0:30... oh GOD bye my heart already stopped w/ the radio. 1:08-1:24 ajksdasjdlk, 3:34-3:47 was so beautiful- there's something about this little section that hit me really hard, 3:57-4:19 (and this part especially killed me). AHHH i'm just so happy you finished this masterpiece and wow just WOW

Anja, I don't even know what to say! My heart aches so bad after watching this, but in a good way, I promise! You've set such an incredible tone throughout this entire video. The radio back in forth at the beginning broke my poor little heart. The amount of amazing parallels in this blows my mind. Apart of me felt like while watching this, I was watching them all over again for the very first time, and every word they said to each other hurt as much as it did while watching the show. Another thing, I can't believe i just watched a 5 minute long video... it felt so short, and I felt so captured by every second. I can't even imagine how long this one must've taken you to make, and I know how much you doubted yourself about it on Twitter, but it's impossible for you to ever fail us. You're a true artist! That was my goal tbh. No matter who you like or not, i wanted the viewers to focus just on them as siblings. And make them see that they're so similar and yet so different. And they do have this beautiful deep love for each other, despite how unhealthy and dysfuntional the rest of it is. So i guess i succeeded :') thank you so much for your kind words ♥

So I haven't watched this show in ages but oh my goodness did you make me feel all the pain and love between these siblings. Forgetting your perfection in editing skills, the way you showed how these two may fight and, at times, even hate each other, after everything is said and done, they love each other and would do anything to protect the other (especially Bellamy with Octavia). This is just so good and your editing and voiceovers and parallels GOD, i have no words!!!!

I knew this was going to be something else, not only cause your editing is so on point always but because I know how much you love them. You portrayed their relationship in a way I've never seen before, no storytelling, just messy feelings, with such a complex structure but still you managed to make it so crystal clear **bows down**

"i lost her" well, I'm dead! thank you :'); 1:53.... you know the drill... our secret xD; 1:56- 1:58 those looks!!; 1:58 the change of the music and the change of the video itself is so fitting, I love those cute sof moments + the "I'm sorry" parallels; 2:08 "are you ok?" no, I'm not; 2:11 that clip with Octavia is so damn cute, is everything!; 2:22- 2-32.... yup, is all so calm and the BAM! right on the feels, that clip at 2:25

How do you keep doing this, time after time? How do you create such perfect character studies or tributes with every single video you make? These two have one of the most complex dynamics I've ever seen on tv and film, and you captured it perfectly. I love how you started with the dysfunctional side of their relationship and how they both contribute to it. The parallels were so well placed and as always this video had an incredible build-up towards the other sides of their relationship. I love how it ended with how much they love each other, because in the end that's what their relationship comes down to. I don't think any other video I've seen managed to capture the real relationship between these two, but you did. Thank you so much for this beautiful study of the Blake siblings!

This is so beautiful! I'm speechless! I don't like Octavia, but her relationship with her brother is really interesting and hard to watch sometimes. It's amazing how horrible we can be to the people we love. And this video shows exactly that. The pain they have cost each other, and how they even hated each other sometimes, but they share a bond that can't be broken. Amazing! Bravo! I really hated how octavia NEVER appreciated her brother who saved her zillions of times she was litterally only alive bec of him and its not just on the ark or the first seasons but it was up to when she became bloodreina and he was desperate as she was just continuously pushing his limits.... She never had his back or felt his pain, always ready to make him her punch bag and make no excuse for any mistake he does when he was by so far the one who kept them all alive in the first 4 seasons,,, its frustrating how noone felt what he felt so he had to look for a bigger figure Ex:Pike, Cadogan... So that he has someone to look up to and take some burden off him.. But unfortunately they were not good people they just took advantage of him and messed him up even more... Poor Bell 😢💔

your editing + olafur arnalds? could i ask for anything better? i'm sort of late to the party here, but i can't help the fact that every time you upload a vid it feels as though i need some time to properly recover and process what it is i've watched before i can even attempt to compose my thoughts and emotions into a coherent comment.
what i love about this video is that it feels more like a stream of consciousness than anything. it's more about moments, feelings, responses to actions (without really focusing on those actions themselves, only the repercussions). you've expertly captured the push and pull between these two characters - their clashing ideologies, the toxic cycle of action leading to consequence leading to redemption and back again, like a wound resisting to heal. but in between all that, and at the heart of this video - the devotion they will always have to each another; to protect and stand up for one another no matter what. on a larger scale, what you've truly captured here is the complexity with which love manifests itself, especially when it comes to familial relationships.
unfortunately as i don't watch this series anymore, my interpretation can only go as far as what you've given me in this video. but i have little doubt that this video hasn't done these two characters justice, for you just have such a talent for revealing the complexities behind characters that i feel like, by the end of the video, i know and understand them even if i've never seen the show. and that's not an easy feat.
it's because of this that i continue to look forward to your videos no matter what it is you might be vidding. familiarity with the content, while it may certainly enhance the experience, has never been a requirement to enjoy and appreciate what you make. no matter what or who it is, i'll be here, waiting for the next emotional rollercoaster you'll be sure to hit me with.

Like honestly, as i already said on twitter, idk how to deal with it :'D You are able to put down in words what i'd have never could, and not only cause i'm missing vocabulary cause english is not my mothertongue. (Guess that's also why i chose this kind of hobby to let out my feels and thoughts ^^) But you literally describe what i have in my mind, my vision, for these projects. And you're so good at that, you don't even fail even tho you don't follow the show like in this particular case. Like this is the biggest compliment i could possibly get, like that's all i wanna achieve. To at least reach one person. I get that these kind of videos are hard to "consum" for the majority since it requires a lot of interest to attentively watch and feel "yourself into it". The only sad part is that the only really liked each other for one season, and then the rest of the season Octavia hated Bellamy, and then the next Bellamy hated Octavia and then for the last season, it was just like they were strangers😢
