Adolf was betrayed by his generals who didn't understand the strategic and economic necessity of getting the food of the Ukraine then the oil of the caucasus and instead had a Moscow fetish. This as Germany needed badly those resources which made it attack the USSR in the first place. Once bogged down and when Case Blau failed it was just a war of attrition the teutons were bound to lose against an enemy which had much more OIL and much more tanks and weapons. In the end a small nation attacking the US and USSR which were both producing 90% of the oil in the 1940s. Whatever wonder weapons produced after 1943 would have been unusable due to lack of fuel and lack of men.

@@portalsevil The amount of material and men were more than enough in 1942 and 1943 but by mid 1942 the opportunity to correct the erroneous objectives of Barbarossa was fading away quickly. A movement war needs lotsa oil and gasoline and the Reich had not much of it to begin with even in 1941. Only the Caucasus could have alleviated this situation. After that no matter how much "Stuff" or men Germany had didn't matter as the synthetic oil facilities could only provide at a great cost the means to fight a losing attrition war, much less a movement war.
