    Thank you! my ford cmax got the front right wheel stuck after letting go of the brake pedal. Many mechanics told me that the abs needed to be replaced. I changed only the oil with this procedure by selecting "brake fluid" and my braking system was as good as new. Thanks from Naples, Italy.

    Did an entire Brembo install, plus a couple of fluid flushes by the old manual pedal push method and never knew about this! Also never had a problem with pedal either tbh. I suspect that this method is essential if you let too much fluid drain out of the system.

      Well shoots that's good! When I did my stainless steel lines and Brembos I didn't let it get below min and it was still squishy. I'd still recommend giving it a go at some point and see if your pedal becomes even stiffer!

      It changes the length of how long the master cylinder pumps fluid. If doing the master cylinder it takes a lot longer since it needs to pump all of the air out of the system.

    Do I need to tighten the drain screw in advance to ensure that the brake oil pipe is under positive pressure?

    • @NaviUpgrade
      @NaviUpgrade  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes, but within reason. You could pre-loosen them but I personally wouldn't let it sit for more than a couple seconds before the abs pump is engaged, just to prevent any air getting in the lines from a not-so-great collector tube attachment. You can do this all yourself without a buddy if you use a USB 3.0 extension cable on the adapter so you can take the laptop with you to each caliper.

    What version of FORscan are you running? Mine doesn't"t have all those options. After changing the brake pads and turning rotors I have a thumping noise on the front tires that goes about a thump-by-tire revolution. I manually bleed (and did a fluid flush) and did a FORscan bleed cycle without opening the bleeders. triple checked everything was assembled ok and still have the noise, the harder I press the pedal the harder the thumping. I'm running out of tricks. Any help will be greatly appreciated. No DTCs or light in the dashboard.

    • @NaviUpgrade
      @NaviUpgrade  Před 2 lety +1

      It's the beta version that you have to request access to since it has module update options. Too many folks were using crappy adapters and bricking modules in their vehicle.
      As for thumping... Does the pedal raise back up when it 'thumps'? Did it do the thump before the rotors and pads? I'm wondering if the caliper bolts aren't torqued down to spec. I'm also wondering what it would sound like without load (front end on jack stands). I'd be curious to see if it happens only when there's weight on the hub assembly.

    Why do you use hose bleed and not ABS bleed?
    If I want to change the brake fluid without changing any component I should do both procedures?

    • @NaviUpgrade
      @NaviUpgrade  Před rokem +2

      Because you're not bleeding the master cylinder in this case. If you run the cylinder low or dry you'll need to do that part 🙂 did hose since that tells the system that it needs to pump longer to get more air out of the system for each corner.

    • @NaviUpgrade
