Gaza War: WHO, UN agencies conduct high-risk mission to evacuate patients from Al-Amal hospital

The World Health Organization (WHO), three UN agencies, and the Palestine Red Crescent Society undertook a joint high-risk mission to transfer 24 critical patients from Al-Amal Hospital in Gaza on February 25, 2024. The patients were carried in four ambulances and transported to an operational field hospital in Rafah, Gaza. Between January 22 to February 22, 2024, around 40 missile attacks had damaged the hospital heavily. As a result, the hospital was left without running water and had limited electricity supplied by only two generators.
