- Thanks to citypoison for this !!! A 1999 Channel 4 series in which John Peel visits British towns that spawned musical trends. John Peel goes to Cornwall and meets up with Richard D James (The Aphex Twin) and Luke Vibert. He also visits David Hodge, a Cornish language poet, Helen from In Watermelon Sugar and then meets up with indie band Blew and sculptor David Kemp

His songs are either a roast toward a specific music or his peers (which a lot of musicians do in the IDM community making "diss" tracks or references to one another) or something he cooked up from his modular machines. I think he's a genius for managing to make music from ordinary things rather than musical prowess, but he's still that little bored kid from Cornwall taking a piss

Vibert and Aphex played live together at the 2004 Big Day Out in Australia, they were incredible :/ probably the best live electronic set I've ever heard by anyone, including Aphex alone in 2012.

I used to listen to John Peel on a shortwave radio (i'm from Chile), i did that for many years until his death. I was so, so sad when I heard the news that day...

That language sounds similar to the language that was spoken in Cumbria - the language that was spoken before the Anglo Saxons arrived. You can see it today in some place names such as the mountains Blencathra and, 'Helvellyn'. 'Lynn' is found in a few places too, it means 'pool', like to the Irish 'lin'. There's also a few 'Pen's in Cumbria, such as Penrith, Penruddock and Pendragon (castle). It's a similar language to Welsh and was probably the same language back then.
