      - Long Trip: Africa Twin AS ES
      - Commute: Vespa Primavera 150
      - Off Road: CRF 250L (In my country because of taxation we get 250 version)
      - Show off: BMW RnineT Scrambler (I customizing the bike like adding tail tidy, Plate holder is different, mirrors etc...)
      - The one coming back to life is 1995 Vespa PX200 the one that gears on the left hand and it is also a 2 stroke engine machine

    I've regreted selling every bike I've ever sold. That's why I currently have 3. I said I would never sell another bike. However, space in budget and garage is limited. Each bike I own now serves different needs. The Goldwing destroys miles like its nothing. The Trail125 is the short-distance runabout and serves as CZcams click-bait. There's nothing quite like a sidecar and my Ural saved my bacon when we got snowed in and it was the only vehicle that could get me out of my house.
    That said, I am looking at adding a bike or two. I don't have a sportbike nor a more serious dualsport. We'll see what happens when I test ride a Damon.

    I currently own my dream bike, a 2014 Softail Deluxe with 14” apes, dual exhaust and lots of chrome and brass accents. The content on your Sportster assisted me in deciding to get one for myself. So I’ll own two motorcycles now.

    3 bikes would be perfect for myself. I currently have 2. The 3rd one I want is a bagger for long trips. I've got my softail slim for day trips and around town. I'm also very close to finishing up my 1200 chopper, and that one is for picking up the ladies 😅.

    This is also my daily mental strugle. I currently have 2 bikes My Yamaha Exciter 155 which is my daily commuter, a bike I truly love, it has everything about an underbone bike that I fell in love with when I first moved to Asia but just turned up to 11. and my Honda Grom which is a project bike atm. I have looked hard at the CRF300 Rally as well as the CL500, both of which I really like But I have a difficult time to justify adding another bike to my garage when I basically ride one bike the vast majority of the time.

    Interesting video. I’m not sure about the 4-bike rule. I currently have 4 bikes: Indian Chieftain, BMW Grand America, 1250 GS & Ducati xDiavel. Chieftain is my sportster for you. It got me into the MC riding. I also ride with the local Indian rider group. I sold it to a friend of mine and it came back to me all smashed up. It took me two years but I fixed her up to her old glory. I will not get rid of it again. BMW GA is for long distance riding. I also let my friend ride it when he visits me from England. (ie, CO trip). BMW GS is for my off-road riding like BDRs and T.W.A.T.s. The xDiavel is for easy local cruising I can go with my son. Now its 2024, I am looking for another bike. I never had a Triumph so I may pick up either the Rocket or the SpeedMaster. Before I get the new bike, however, I have to convince my wife why I need another bike. 🤔😂

    I currently have 2, but think that 4 will be the goal! I've got an adventure and cruiser currently, but the dealership put me on a sports bike recently and it's been giving me an itch... 4th bike would be a project bike, probably an 80s Goldwing project because I'm poor but still want another bike 😂

    I own two bikes, both Triumphs. Bonneville t120 and Tiger 850 sport. I ride 8000 per year pretty much split evenly between the two. I do have other hobbies though, cycling, fishing and shooting. While there are other motorcycles I'd love to own there's only so many hours in the day.

    The Sportster is on my short list for buying an around town cruiser, probably a forty eight. Can’t understand Harley doing away with that old sportster formula. The 300 Rally is a great looking dirt bike! If I did any kind of dirt riding (I don’t) or if one ever pops up cheap (they don’t) I would have one. Both of those bike will hold their value while you enjoy them!

    The most registered bikes I've had are 4, but that was 35 years ago, and 1 was for my partner and 1 was going to be sold, although you could say I had 7 because I had a wornout 80cc trainbike, a classic 1974 DT400 trailbike stripped for motocross, and a 1971 DT360 (a restoration project that I never got too, ended up selling it to some who wanted to restore it). Then for 30 years I went to 1 registered bike and the two DT's. These days I have a hotted up 1988 Lowrider with a sidecar, 2022 Pan Am (army green version), 1971 CB500 (bored out to 600cc and stripped for classic track racing), and the 1974 Yamaha DT400. Would I have more? Maybe, I would like to modify a Royal Enfield 500 into a old looking trail bike. I am giving the CB500 to a friend who helped build it, he is still doing classic racing and has 2 for racing at present. If I get a RE 500, then we have the magic number for four again.

    Oh! So I'm not alone with the idea of multi bike use /ownership. The subject you have just touched on occupies my mind very often and especially when new models pop up. I have gone from owning 5 bikes to 2 bikes and even 1 bike, but not for long. 3 bikes has mostly been a happy medium, 1 Harley 1200 Sportster, 1 BMW 1200GS and a little 250 TVS for milk and bread runs. I don't do much off road stuff so no need for a dedicated off roader.

    • @GreatEgret
      @GreatEgret  Před 9 měsíci

      oh, defiently not alone, my friend! That's a good triad of bikes.

  • @jasonshortphd
    @jasonshortphd Před 9 měsíci

    For more the current answer is 3-4. I have an adventure bike when I get that itch, and I have a cruiser for going the distance. Then I have a naked bike, but I want to get rid of it. And then in my mind I always want a project bike. Something to fill my winter non riding time. Wrenching on the bike is a great way to keep my mental health solid in the winter months.
    I have been thinking about replacing that naked bike with an electric bike for just around town fair weather riding. But then I look at the Road King and think that would be a good around town and could pull on and off a shield for it. IDK where I will end up next year. :)

    • @GreatEgret
      @GreatEgret  Před 9 měsíci +1

      You’ve purchased salvaged title bikes and brought them back, right? I was on the Copart site the other day and thought of you. This is something I think I might want to do this winter.

    • @jasonshortphd
      @jasonshortphd Před 9 měsíci

      @@GreatEgret Yes I have done two so far. Check your local laws on getting a salvage title back to being road worthy. In WA state it is a PAIN in the rear. The second bike they still won’t do the inspection. My local state patrol office only allows ONE of those types of inspections per week, and people without a dealer license at the bottom of the list. And a dealer license requires a commercial space (thought about it).
      But overall I loved doing it. You have to be super strict in bidding. Know the value, and the rough idea of the repair costs. Don’t get emotional on bidding things up. But if you find a bike you really like it is a great way to get it and then know it inside and out because you will go through everything just to make sure it is good.

    My wallet is the only thing that keeps me from getting another bike. Lol. 20K miles on my sportster and it is still the bike I always wanted. BUT, I DO have the desire for dirt, and I am looking at several bikes as my +1. I think 2 bikes is the magic number for me, and if there is ever a number three, it will be as a toy, whether that be a from or a ninja 400. :D
