  • No man embodies the "American Dream" more than Abraham Lincoln. His vision of the unity of the United States in freedom and the abolition of slavery made him an icon. Lincoln was assassinated in Washington's Ford Theatre on Good Friday 1865 because of his visionary policies.

Indeed, but at 4:31 what kinda bothers me is that here, he’s wearing a night shirt when in fact, his doctors stripped him to see if theyre any other additional wounds. Yep, Lincoln remained unclothed for eight hours before dying at 7:22 am. Still agree with you on Lincoln, though.

This video is so full of historical inaccuracies! Booth and Herold took shelter in a tobacco barn owned by Richard Garrett. Booth survived for several hours after being shot in the neck--which paralyzed him! He was dragged to the Garrett's front porch where he died just as the sun was coming up.
Lincoln's body was placed in a temporary tomb with the remains of his son Willie--which had accompanied him on the train all the way to Springfield, Illinois. Lincoln's coffin would be moved and opened several times for the next 30 years or so! There was even an attempt to steal the body and hold it for ransom!

Also, when he was laid on the bed, Lincoln was undressed when he died as Dr Leale stated that they remove his clothing to re-examine him and remained naked under the covers and sheets.

I think Lincoln was such a good president, he'd even enjoy seeing how Andrew Johnson finished his second term, no matter how everyone else thought of Johnson.
Even James Buchanan, Lincoln's supposed polar opposite, was mourning his assassination, even he knew Lincoln was one of the greatest presidents where *he* himself was the worst.

Wrong fact: The last photo of Abraham Lincoln was NOT days before his assassination. It was a few weeks before his assassination (March 6, 1865). Lincoln was seated while facing in a 3/4 view looking to his left. The photo shown here was taken on February 5, 1865.

4:31 Lincoln was in a full night gown but a verified fact shows that after Lincoln was laid diagonally on the bed, attending physician Dr Charles Leale had strip away the clothing on Lincoln so he and the other doctors can re-examine him for any possible additional wounds and facilitate warm treatments to his unclothed body. And yes, Lincoln was unclothed (with no clothes on) throughout the whole evening until the morning of his death.
Still sad that Lincoln didn’t deserve to be killed, but Grant still did better than Johnson in terms of Reconstruction.

Was a woman, but I think she WAS INVOLVED, of course she didn't shoot President Lincoln, but I think she knew plenty AND gave them a place to meet and store weapons.
