Surprised you don’t add trim to make it easier to hold elevation.

I find most students don't get the trim out fast enough after they roll out, resulting in them ballooning too much.

I don't trim during steeps. The heavy nose is a signal that the airplane is in an abnormal condition and needs correction. If you trim out hands free, you don't get that feedback.
