This has been great, have had my SE for 18 years and have found very little about balancing the deck except for one in Italian which didn’t help a Glaswegian, also noted that the company are giving better packed information and cartridge guide so I may request one from them.👍

Once you have the required gap between the felt pads and the chassis and the top of the towers have the required 5mm of exposed thread, you then level the platter by adjusting the feet and not by tweeting the springs. This is clearly stated in the Michell Engineering (or is it Audio now) assembly instructions. I would have thought Jonathan would have known that, unless that is, Michell have revised their instructions. I've had my Gyrodec for 20 years now and doubt I'll ever change it.
P.S when I bought mine it was not pre assembled like the one in this video. It was completely in bits and the packaging was different.

Check my comments from when I was on holiday, attempted today and when it came to centralising the spring I turned the first one and it came right out of the part that is located in the hole under the frame, I got it back in and I am now a bit suspect about the video.

@@stuart3744 I've ditched the springs and fitted Solidair Dark Star pylons. They are so much better, no bounce, speed stability has improved and the sound is so much more dynamic while still isolating the chassis.
