Learn one new thing every day. In a year you will progress sooooo much. A new vault, new swing, new spin. Look up parkour tutorials to find new things to try or literally just pick an object and play around until you discover something new!
What I did is just walked around and found some cool/weird spots, and just pieced together what I could. Thinking outside the norm will often help you find cool new tricks you've never seen or heard of before!
One time in school, for PE we were challenged to vault over a tall bench by using a springboard. It took me a few tries, but eventually I got a vault which was a combination of a dash vault and kong vault. Throughout the entire thing my legs went through my hands and my hands never left the bench. I just realised how easy it would be if I just did ONE of those vaults.
Do you have good tips to improve parkour for a semi beginner who has no equipment or spotter or access to any gyms? all I have is my back yard and I really want to get good at parkour please let me know what I need to do to get better. Thanks
Bob, I have a question, is there a difference between a lazy vault and a thief vault? And is there a difference between a safety vault and a speed step?
They’re pretty much the same. Some people differentiate the two by looking at the foot placement on the take off. But honestly it doesn’t matter. I usually just say safety vault and lazy vault and just don’t say the other two names 😅
Do you have any tips on how to improve in parkour as a beginner? I want to improve but I'm not quite sure how to start.

You can practice landings and rolling in the yard to build up fundamentals. Can never practice these too much
I can do a backflip and a backhand spring trying to teach myself how to do a kip up and can do a backflip into a push up formation
Thanks for the advice.

I think people usually say speed step when they're doing it out of a jump, but it may just be the UK name?
