    Man, I wish they still made the combow. I’ve been on a quest to find a blaster that would make a good base for a gunblade and this would be perfect, but they’re like $130 now…

    Mount the axe on bottom, if possible add a pistol grip if you so chose, this also allows you to have a "Spear" or long sword and a closer range axe, or you can have a scope, its really your choice. I think its a good idea because you can be EVEN more modular with it, but it would be more of an axe gun, but you can mount any sword you like.

    I kinda want to see someone integrate a hammershot into this shell/or for the stock-grip-thingy to be grafted onto a hammershot... AND then integrate a real final fantasy like blade onto it.
    Btw I LOVE the X-Colorscheme for this blaster, it looks so neat.

    I would suggest an inverted V-shape blade with a top-fin like blade (built around a rail mount) and two bottom blades like that of a Brute Spiker from Halo. That would create a slashing, stabbing, shielding, shooting weapon.

    Captain Xavier I've said it before, and I am 100% certain I'll say it again...
    You, sir, are a madman, and we love you for it.
    Hmm... other gunblade ideas... Perhaps creating a blade mount that is angled to run in line with the pistol grip? Then you wouldn't need to change your hold to comfortably fence, the blade would already be in the position you're accustomed to having with a sword. Or perhaps add a second mount on the stock, facing the rear, so you can use it with two blades- Nerf Jedi beware, Dart Xavier has taken the field!

    • @CaptainXavier
      @CaptainXavier  Před 6 lety +4

      +Nathan Talisien the current katana and light saber blades allows for that technically.
      I will deffinitely be trying the Energy Sword idea to allow better melee without switching the grip.

      Captain Xavier i have a strikefire/crossword. It was my first blaster. However, after years of use, it broke, the prime hook.

    I know you like modularity, but I have found that cutting off the handle of most nerf guns will allow you to access the catch mechanism. For instance, on the recon, part of the stock attachment point can be drilled out allowing for a sort of pvc handle to be attached. By doing this, you will essentially have sort of a guard and handle. In addition, the placement of the handle allows for quick access to the catch mechanism which a person adapted to this unusual design can easily press while still having the gun able to be used for melee. I sincerely hope you see this comment because I would love to see how you take it.

    So, now I want to see some sort of combination of the grip on this with the break action feature of the new Mega Tri-Break, because then you could build a blade over the break action portion and use it as a sword, then drop it and fire, flip it back up and have a sword again.

    Hmm.....take the pool noodle/zip tie lightsaber attachment, secure a piece of CPVC inside of it, should still be fairly light, PLUS you could turn it into a blowgun AND have the added benefit of the plastic keeping the noodle from wearing out and drooping into the gun's line of fire. Double modularity.

  • @joshuahummel918

  • @SeanConneZombie
    @SeanConneZombie Před 6 lety

    You could go for an axe that goes from the tip of the barrel (top) to the end of the stock (bottom) would use the blade as a hand guard, and "shouldn't" get in the way when using it as a blaster to much. In this way though it'll give you more points of contact with the blaster for stability, so a bigger blade could last longer

  • @Dizaster1995
    @Dizaster1995 Před 5 lety

    a gunblade out of a pool noodle XD your a madman... i approve X3 you know, come to think of it, the way you were holding that, and how the handle is shaped, in theory it shouldnt be too hard to make something like a drawstring trigger to fire the blaster while you use it like a blade. its probably been done already but i felt like sharing cause i thought it was neat

  • @Nevtronics
    @Nevtronics Před 6 lety

    You could make a breeched barrel like a Sledgefire and custom make a blade or axe around it with camp mat like more traditional larp weapons. The only down side is a core big enough to not impact the darts would be heavy and very solid so it would need to be well padded. It may make it bigger than you want for a pistol. Although if you think about it as a big axe with pistol capabilities it would be reasonable but I think that would suit something else better. Like say a big axe that fires demolisher rockets out the end...hint, hint, please, please

Just a thought and I've only recently started watching your videos, unfortunately over here in the UK we don't have as much selection of Nerf guns as you do in the US, and same with the idea of Nerf Wars. Out of curiosity, have you played Final Fantasy 8? I know that Gun/Sword combos did historically exist during the transition phases because every time new technology comes out, there's gonna be that guy who's just like "but what if I run out of the thing needed to make this work" but a lot of people in the modern day were introduced to the idea of a Gunblade, specifically in the "handgun with a sword on top" variety due to FF8 (even if the two Gunblade wielding characters in the game feel like they never bloody use their Gunblade as a gun and almost always for the blade part...)
    Edit: Also, the Regulator barrel you can attach things to with rail I will always feel like part of the point was so that kids who might go online and see these crazy integrations and masterkeys and whatnot can safely imitate that without risking hurting themselves on the power tools rather than for silly but awesome uses like Gunblades.

  • @OculiCorvus
    @OculiCorvus Před 6 lety

    It's a really cool idea; it's just that none of those options are cosmetically pleasing. You should totally look into finding the time to make an attachment that actually melds with the weapon rather than looking like something that was just thrown on. That would be really awesome. As far as nerf goes, I must admit I'm a bit of a snob. I know form follows function, but for the RP element of wars, I really just can't bring myself to use equipment that doesn't look good or fitting to the character. But hey, as long as you have fun, that's the whole game, right?

    • @CaptainXavier
      @CaptainXavier  Před 6 lety

      @OculiCorvus Před 6 lety

      That's fair. Still a very cool concept. If I ever get my hands on this segment of the combow, I might take a whack at turning it into a gunblade. The energy-sword esq. two-bladed design sounds like it'd turn out pretty gnarly. I think something like Stryfe's gunblade would be interesting too. Although, one thing is for sure; whatever I go for, it probably won't be modular haha. That's one love you and I don't share, but it's still pretty cool to see how you employ modularity in your projects :P

    It totaly needs an axe head!!! The entire build screams boarding axe! You could take of the back of the last axe you showed 😉

    Try and concoct a blade that uses the actual barrel. No gun but after 4 shots you load it up, voila a less unwieldy melee weapon that has all the sick aesthetics of the gun blade.

    You should 100% try adding that foam mace to this, maybe attach it on the underside of the blaster? idk Lmao

    Base it on Squall's gunblade from Final Fantasy 8.
