- I had some time to explore so I decided to go chase multispecies with my little ultralight float rig. After several hours of snags & hiking through brush, I made my way to this TINY CREEK which ultimately saved the day.
I have only fished this creek one other time. Honestly, I have no idea how fish survive in such tiny little ecosystems. Incredible! This is part of the reason why I really have come to appreciate Creek Chubs so much... They live in the weirdest spots XD

I started thinking "am I really thinking about trudging up and down a creek for a creek chub?" I'm 42... I have congestive heart failure... My icd about gave me a shock out out of afib last weekend!...
But yet I'm still intrigued, right now dude I'm living vicariously through you cause your still young enough to take risks and do funny things like biting into a cattail lol

I'm jealous buddy! I'd love to be out fishing these muddy creeks in late fall. Creek chub are a blast! But I'm trying to hunt deer, squirrels, pheasants and crows this time of year and there just isn't enough time! Looking forward to spring and getting back out on these creeks! 3/19! I'm gonna try and remember that; maybe I'll send you some cattail corndogs 😂 And you ain't no dufus! You're one of the coolest guys I know! This was just a good ole fun fishing trip.

That happened to me once! Cast my line over a tree branch with the jig hanging into the water. When I tried to get it out, a small bass hit the lure and was pulled up in to the tree. I had to wade into the deep pool to get it down.
Haha I have seen others do it for bass but this was a first for me! Pretty wild time out there :)

Upstream to the water fall there are browns and suckers in fall/winter/spring and steelhead run in the spring! Keep the awesome content coming, and thanks for appreciating that creek. Caught another nice brown on my lunch break right where you ended the video on a Joes Spinner Fly. Seems like the Creek Chubs are getting more aggressive the past week or two, maybe feeding up for winter.

@ Do not be hard on yourself, rod tips can break after a time of use. You do fish a lot and parts of a rod can wear out or break apart. Even the cost more rods can break unexpected, besides you are having a great time fishing.
Fortunately it wasn’t broken, just popped the tip piece off! Glad I got it back lol
I once dropped my car keys into the water in a semi-log jam. Unbelievably, and undeservedly, I fished it out about half an hour later.

How come you dont run braid on your UL setup?
Good question that I will answer in an upcoming video ;) for now however, I have simply had far less issues with light monofilament. I don't want to use super overpowered braid on these setups. Ideally, I would try 4-6lb but my experience with these lines has not been great at this point in time. That said, I will be giving it another try :)
