Wonderful video! I am pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy the base game. It's a simple game but checks several boxes for me. I already had War or Peace on preorder but now I'm going to order Corruption & Ascension too. Thanks for the content and the representation!!

FYI, you can fit everything (including the Ascension expansion and score tracker whiteboard) in the heritage box. The expansion content comes with a nice box which you add if you remove the foam. There's a great spot to place the whiteboard marker in the hole in the bottom right corner.

Oh yes thank you Qax! We are yet to put it all together... it was a bit confusing at first! I have been too scared to accidentally open something I shouldn't so have barely touched the big box 😆 I'll pack it all together once we finish the second campaign. I'm a huge fan of this game as well! I really enjoy how easy it is to get into, but how satisfying it is through multiple plays. I picked up the retail version in the middle of last year and somehow completely missed the Kickstarter campaign for the expansions and heritage box :(. I'll be trying to get my hands on all the extra goodies as soon as possible. Great review as always!

I have to agree with Maggie, when you play with only 2 player count. Slowing the other players down, it is called protection and defense. I love the expansion comes with a smaller tuck box and can fit into the main box by removing the black sponge, really save some space.

Haha I read this out to Maggie and she feels vindicated in her strategy so thank you Marg 😆 you are right though it is just a key part of the game and given the draft dynamic more important in a two player game. Yes we loved that too about the additional box!

@@ThinkerThemer Yes, I’m 100% support Maggie strategy!! My play style is also more on the theme side, so I back Oathsworn hoping to get a good story out of it, I’m interested to see if you like it. I have to say my backing match 8/10 with you vs 5/10 on Alex for top 10 video. I listen to you and now Maggie for Kickstarter. Alex also convinced me back a lot of game as well, I was not a fan of CMON, now he convinced me they are great and their games will maintain value :)
It is always a joy to see your content, it just makes playing board game so much fun.
In January and February we were really enjoying this game, teaching it to gamers and sort-of-gamers, and it really connected. And then... well.
We've left it alone since then, it doesn't fit Zoom gaming... but only recently we realized it can be played just by the two of us!
Now your experiences have us thinking to go back to it. Plus the expansion arrived recently....
Yes!!! We truly enjoyed it at two players... normally we always (when we can) try it at different player counts before reviewing but here we felt we knew how it would scale (more draft options, more competition for the majority bonus) but also loveeeeed it at 2. Hope you get to play some more of it! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I really like it's a Wonderful World. I picked my copy up at retail, so missed out on all the Kickstarter stuff. Hopefully it will come back to Kickstarter as the campaign in the big box sounds fun.
It is a nice way to keep things fresh and engaging but the base game is so .... well I went to type "wonderful" 🤣... that i think the campaign is just a nice to have. Thanks for watching Andrew and glad you like this one too!

Sold out everywhere and our LFGS doesn’t have it. Wanted to do a trade but finally found pre-enjoyed copy that will be arriving tomorrow hopefully.
Learned game last week and he had the Heritage edition and then I wanted because of the components and storage box but at least found a copy.
Wondered about the expansions but don’t want complex play, so may decide not to get.

Excellent review! I've only played the base game on TTS, and definitely enjoyed it. I also received the latest kickstarter not too long ago. After just one play, I'm not sure how it'll hold up compared to 7 Wonders, but I think there's room for both on my shelves. Hope you two are having a great weekend!

Not sure I should bring it up, but as you know, it's been a rough week in the board game Twitter-sphere. I really didn't appreciate some of the damage that could be done by someone (who I don’t believe had ill intentions) until I saw some of the resulting twitter posts. I have all notifications turned on for a couple of folx because they have a lot of experience in these areas, and I have a lot to learn. After the past few weeks, I almost want to delete twitter and simply wait to meet back up with my two small board game groups comprised of good friends I've known for years. But that’s a selfish take. Learning to improve oneself in this area and supporting diversity improves the community as a whole. Ah well. Take care! :)
Thanks for mentioning Luke. As you know I am a big fan and I was so upset listening to the podcast. It is so exhausting saying 'No' or standing up for yourself in this hobby and the trolls are awful and real. I'm grateful I have Maggie and a lot of years of standing up for myself behind me. So I cried listening and reading the rallycry style comments of support. I cant believe anyone could be so passionate about defending a behaviour that has zero impact on them.
There's been many days when I question opening Twitter too. Or just retreating back to playing games instead of this. But I agree that it is good to feel and learn, and I appreciate so much everyone that has so much to lose but passionately try to make gaming a safer space.
Anyway... sorry for the long message! Hope you are doing ok Luke. A short break from everything to regroup and recharge is always fine... remember to be kind to yourself as well. 💕

It's strange. I've casually watched board game videos for a few years now, but I definitely consumed a lot more content both on youtube and social media during this past year. So I feel more connected to the community even though I've just been a passive observer. From a selfish and childish standpoint, I just want everyone to get along. Realistically, that's never going to happen. But like you said, I can try to do my part and make the table I sit down at a safer space.

It's a website like Board Game Arena or Yucata, where the rules are enforced (rather than the free format of tabletopia and TTS). It's not as modern an interface as BGA. It is most similar to Yucata. Being a French site, some of the forums are in French, but English is all you need to play the games. It has some games you can't find anywhere else and does a good job with most implementations. One game I just thought of that's on there is Myrmes. That would be an interesting one for you guys to review, because the theme is strong, but it's very much a thinky euro.
I love this game and got base game and then heard about campaign. Was it only available through KS? If you got the 2 expansions out, is that the same as campaign?

Hi Susan! I think (not 100% sure) that if you buy the Heritage edition of the game it comes with the campaigns. I'm not sure how easy or difficult that is to find. Otherwise you can buy them to add to the base game (for example "It's a wonderful world: war or peace" is available on Amazon). I hope that helps and thanks for watching ❤
I did almost buy the base game this week when it was a deal of the day but hesitated long enough to miss it. I really know I will enjoy it but wasn't sure it did too much different than other games I have. I have a feeling if I play it first it will hook me.
Yes interesting! I had the exact same thought - being worried it wasn't different enough... and there's not too much new new here but it just so slick and clever in how it is implemented. Gameplay is smooth yet challenging and it is a pleasure to play. Keep an eye out for a sale! ☺

I don't understand why more games doesn't come with cardboard boxes like this. Glen More II and Alien Frontiers are two that I know do it, and it works really well

As you may know, Jamey of Stonemaier Games has designed a new game based on a trilogy called Red Rising.
Have you read these books or read reviews of these books, particularly reviews by women?
I am only about forty pages in and just can't get past a few things.

I did also reach out to Monique and Naveen and Monique has read the trilogy. She was incredibly helpful as I really wanted some womens views on this book written by a white guy of very clear privilege and obvious means.
It was a big help to hear from Monique.
I respect yours and Maggie's view points and that you don't shy away from truths ( like racist comments by a certain Italian designer and racist themed games).

4 rounds feels too tight! Although 7 Wonders isn't much more...and seems more complicated too. I don't know that I'd need both in my collection, they seem to fill the same niche. I'm also really confused by the campaign aspect? Not the kind of game I'd associate with legacy mechanics. I hope this isn't the start of designers trying to force legacy mechanics into everything!
Mmm funny I always felt more hamstrung by 7 wonders... like it ends right when I am starting to enjoy myself. This one 4 rounds is perfect I think. Creates tension but the engine builds super quickly so you can get a lot done. I wasn't sure on the campaign either but it did mean that we played it soooo many times instead of just maybe 4 or 5 times together before getting distracted by something else. It kept it fresh which was nice. 😊 thanks for watching as always!!
Played the base game more than a year ago, enjoyed it and my friend just got the expansion last week. But I brought my copy of Rurik on our Thursday night gaming so the four of us played that instead of Wonderful World with the new expansion.Maybe we'll play it next week. @@ThinkerThemer It's a 'dudes-on-a-map' area control game but the unique action selection mechanic gives it a very euro feel to the whole thing.
