    Hi Subha
    Nice video really appreciate your efforts. A tip given by a gujarati friend to make soft chapati - after adding salt and mixing with flour add a little oil and mix before adding water - no need to add hot water or milk. Finally add a little oil. Do try and let other viewers know about this. God bless you and family.

    If it is thick, just put a cardboard piece cutout to roti size on top of the baking sheets and press. It makes rotis thinner

    Actually this is suitable for only poori…..for fast pressing during poori making this will help u a lot….Yaa for chapathi it ll come thicker which few people like it in north village sides not our south indians 😊

    hand made chapathi is very good and you put it on thava then turn it back put it on the thava then once again turn it then add oil
    after that put it in hot pack and close it this will give soft chapathi

    You can try using plastic or just powder flour as paper also can make it hard to spread well. More over we South Indians can use it for rice roti

    Do not usevoil at all, but knead it for at least 20 minutes by keeping on stretching so it will release gluten.. if you use the machine take less dough it will be thin.

      This is for chapathi,it's big in size...for poori it will be small...I have 2,thinking 1st one was not good quality...bought in india other bought in dubai...both performed same way..poori also was thick..I heard people using it for nippat n rice pathiri

    I have also got one chapathy maker. We r not using that paper down znd up chappaty mavu. Why do u use that nice paper? We directly press the wheat mavu firectly.

    Genuine feed back. I have tried puri press and roti maker. I feel the same way like you. If you take it hot it is ok. In roti maker I make stuffed parathas. I use this for rolling and cook on tawa.

    No need warm water and milk. Ordinary water is ok. As you said the consistency of the dough should be loose.

    Do u still have it or returned,it's usually pressed thrice centre,move a little to left n press then move to right n press,then big chapathi is formed...n ur dough is right for poori, for chapathi even more softer dough is needed..either rest the dough or add little more water n knead..plain water is enough,for next day storage,incase u store..if u have kept the press,how's it now

    Hi Suba
    I suggest you to knead the flour little more soft and loose dough that will work fine and hope u will get it thinner bcos that's what I follow while using Roti maker. Just try before opting for return policy. Hope this helps.

      The eletric roti maker works because it is hot. In case of the press the roti shrinks before it roasts which makes it thick and chewy.

    My opinion_ Do not use gingelly oil to make chappatis. Combination wheat+ gingelly oil is causes eye defect.

    It needs some more practice... But very good solution for Pooris for a family of 4. I do have it and use it to make Pooris. Very rarely for small rotis.

    Hi Mam 25 years back I have purchased Tortilla electric chapathi maker for Rs
    2100/-. But it is a waste of money only. Please anyone don't go for manual press or electric chapathi maker. It is my sincere advice.

    This is not chappati maker. This is puri maker. We are using more than 30yrs. Please use oil in both side before pressing the atta.
