- I've trained for the 1-5-9 for so many years, and suddenly in the middle of a huge training cycle I tried it again, finally with success. Psyched about this goal!

I don’t understand how impressive that is because I’ve only been climbing a few times, but 220# weighted finger pull up is just mind blowing
That's actually not a finger pull up because the grip is very good, but 100kg is crazy.
It’s equivalent to running a 4 1/2 minute mile imo. Very impressive, takes years of work or insane genetics plus natural talent. It’s not the end of the journey, buts a major stepping stone
How do u know it's 225? idk how to read crossfit plates
I know the text says that below.. but like the world record is 230 lbs, I doubt a random climber is only 10 lbs away so I don't believe it but can't confirm it myself
@@facebookreal he ain't exactly a "random climber" he is one of the strongest there is proportionally, and right near the top for total strength
Fucking hell that pull up at the end is insane
Still not consider a count when you chin not above.
@@cathdan worrthless comment from something beyond impossible by 99% of the population
@@cathdan it doesn't matter what you think "counts" it's still an insane feat of strength regardless of what you think
I compete in street lifting and know many guys that can pull up more than 80kg and only one of them is not on gear, the others take anavar and tren. They are also way more muscular than him, it’s still impressive but he’s clearly on gear
@@redditfm4578 he's not on gear lol. Just admit that climbers are some of the strongest athletes. I know people close to me climbing v14's that can do a 100kg pull up. It's hard but it can be done naturally
100kg weighted pull up is absolutely nuts. Literally adding more than his bodyweight and it was even on a bar. The level of back, forearm and hand strength is unreal.
A half rep of 220lb finger pull up is insane
@Fung Dark the only half reps I'd accept. I wouldn't even be able to hang my fingers with that weight
@ben duggan my body would fold like a sheet of paper with that weight
Agreed.
@@fungdark8270 its not finger pull up, these are jugs ...
To put it in perspective, Magnus Midtbo has long wanted to do a 1-5-9 (even including his years competing) and is yet to do it. This is incredible.
My first thought was "I wonder if Magnus could do this 🤔"
@@crossjadam he actually did do it in tokyo ("Trying the Worst rated Climbing Gym in Tokyo") one and double handed
Comparison doesn't really work given the likely difference in wingspans
Height is definitely a factor lol
Intresting
Bro.. holy moly, you are crazy strong. Big grats!
And even bigger lats
@@mihail0431 hahahahha
That weighted finger pull up is beyond comprehension. AMAZING dude. Well done!
it was on the jug portion of the hangboard. even though it was on jugs and wasn't a full rep, it was still absurdly impressive. i dont think it would be possible for any human to do a 220 lb pullup on a crimp ever
It's not a finger pull up its just a regular pull up but still very impressive
Not a finger pull but those hangboard jugs are no joke slippery wood sloper with 100kg on is mind boggling
I wish I could find this type of passion for literally anything
try bouldering! i started a few months ago and its very fun
It's all in you all this time mate
Youre obsessed with something, do that

congrats :D
I'll add that to my life goals
Already started? Still alive?
@@hansbloch3239
still alive, probably takes at least 5 more years if I'll ever get there ^^
@@josefanon8504 I'll come back in 5 year's. Good luck ✌🏽

thanks, see ya :)
Good luck
I’ll be honest, I didn’t know how impressed to be at first, but that pull-up😱😱
Then you step back and realize that that pullup was part of his training to get 1-5-9.
Holy shit dude. As a piss-ant guitarist who worries about a node in one of his fingers, this both terrifies me, and makes me feel like an idiot. Very motivating.
Dude trained to be like main character from difficult game about climbing
I have never seen someone do a +100 kg pullup before, you are absolutely crazy. Might be some kind of national or world record, too.
I'm 38 and I started rock climbing 4 months ago because I can't skateboard anymore. Climbed my first v2 this week and I'm chuffed.
Anyway well done buddy with the 1.5.9
I tried that and don't understand how you guys can even hold onto the first one.
Big respect dude well done
Suddenly ... overnight success in 8 years! RESPECT.
Congrats bro. Insane to see stuff like this. 8 years of hard work. Keep going my G!
Insane upper body strength
I compete in street lifting and know many guys that can pull up more than 80kg and only one of them is not on gear, the others take anavar and tren. They are also way more muscular than him, it’s still impressive but he’s clearly on gear
@@redditfm4578 There are well done studies that show what your AVERAGE climber should be able to pull based on what grade they can climb. And these are measured on hang boards, not on an actual pull up bar where you have better grip and doesn't require any finger strength.
The AVERAGE climber in the highest grades amongst men average at being able to pull 170%+ of their body weight. And that is kind of the baseline requirment strength wise to be able to do it. Emil is just among the most elite climbers physically in the world.
@@redditfm4578 lol no.
Congratulations!!!
8 years! What dedication! Until today I've never seen anything like this stuff except for what you see in the movies. This is truly inspirational. I don't do rock climbing and I'm probably too old and banged up to start learning now, but thanks for the videos cuz I think I could transfer and adapt some of the character traits you guys Express in two different areas of my personal life. Self-control commitment. Patience and endurance. Having vision and seeing it through to full completion.
Never realised 1-5-9 is exactly my height before. Nice one Emil! 💪😎
All 5'7" say they are 5'9"
@@forefatherofmankind3305 All 5'3'' point this out so they won't feel even smaller because others are credited as taller than in reality.
Congrats! Been a silent fan of you and your content for many years and I’ve always been stunned by your power. Seriously well done
Congrats ! That’s incredible

nope.
It''s just practice.
Probably can't even do 50 pushups
@@MasterYoda389 yeah they can do 50 pull ups on 20mm edges doe
Amazing work! The 100kg plates looked like you could get a nasty pinch in a sensitive area 😅
I’m impressed you even got to the second hold bc I can barely hold onto it atm and even then without the feet, I can’t get to the second hold. Very impressed!
The best thing about a pro is how easy they make it look, absolutely fluid, confident, and sticking it!
Du är så jäääävla stark 💪 hoppas du klarat det.

The newest a difficult game about climbing update looks sick
So I'm guessing you're Swedish, or maybe Norwegian? The "kom igen" felt very motivating 😂
Yeah swedish!
Yeah, definitely got to to pay attention to his accent

Great job brother, proud of ya!
Congratulations man. Fraction of that success would move me over the moon 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
respect. I've been chasing a goal for 8 years as well. kept coming up 3, 2 or even 1 point short. a month ago started off poorly but kept with it ... cracked the score by 3 points so feeling your achievement!
This man is the real life Tarzan
Congrats ! Particularly for your persistance, the average person would have given up. Particularly because we live in world where having something “now” is of such high value
This shows that you never give up
Nark my words, this man WILL save lives out on the 'rock.
gj bro, you're in peak shape
That's really nice man 👍 you have inspired me to work harder on my muscles and explosiveness.
My strength and endurance is normally lacking, so this really helps.
Dang that end was crazy cool!
This is a super difficult task ! Good for you for staying with it. What a feeling when you are finally able to achieve your goal 🎉
Gave me tear of happiness for you.
So cool congrats man!
Amazing. Love the videos. I’m happy getting 1-4 and then just going 4-5 lol. Couldn’t imagine doing 1-5-9 massive congrats lad🎉
Those back muscles are crazy awesome 💪🏻!!
A Difficult Game About Climbing
Weighted workouts are actually crazy. Dragonball or jet lee are onto something
Wow so awesome!!! I really love that 8 year pursuit and you got it! So well deserved!
Insane! Nice 1 5 9 and insane 100kg pullup on the handboard is also impressive.
The best way to make something easy is to make it stupid hard first. Well done. My upper body strength got embarrassed and left the room. 😂 I gotta go get it….
Mate, I fully thought I could do that, before you did that pull up. that was madness
Congrats brother! What an achievement.
That pull up tho
I can't even hold on to a campus board yet lmao
In less than a year i went from not being able to hold to doing 1-4. Not really an amazing accomplishment compared to the video, but still you will be surprised how much you can progress if you take small steps.
@@levone8958 I hope I get that speed of development. Just to know, how old were you when you did that? I'm 20 now, were you a kid when you managed that or are old same age/older?
@@caimanaraujo479 i am 23. I also started at weight of 100kg and dropped to 85 lol

Dude! Incredible work! Congratulations on sticking to working on that goal and achieving it, quite comfortably at that!💪🏽💯👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
To clarify, those weights were attached to his balls...
Du är galen den sista med vikterna var insane du har försärnat det där😊
Congrats Emil, incredible feat of strength. Its a big goal of mine and I can totally relate to the training required needed to progress to this. I'm currently hitting 1-5-8 on both arms but a 1-5-9 feels impossible! Buzzing for you 💪
We only see the results, not the work it took somebody to get there. Well done!
I think a pull up with 100kgs is close to a world record dude 😂
why’s it called a 1-5-9 if you go from the 1st-9th-17th rungs? (i’m uneducated)
ye idk
wait i think it's because he counts the rungs on the left not the right?
In the first clip there’s more rungs. 1-5-9 is on regular campus board with the spaces he described
it's because there's 1,1.5,2,2.5,3 and so on
Bc your numbers are 1,5,9 right? But he did 1 9 and 17.
So you start on one of course so there’s that but then you have the other two numbers. So you take the five and add it to itself minus the one that we started on and what do you get? Nine. So we can do the same with the other one so nine plus itself minus the one we started with and you get seventeen 👍
(I really have no idea but this makes the most sense)
Congratulations on your dedication twords climbing, you built yourself very well.
Holy moly that finger strength is just ridiculously strong I can't but admire when I see this climbers
who all search difficult game about climbing and got this😂
Sick! V Grade?
Haha funny you should ask, I made a video where I included it here: (czcams.com/video/V3IZsyJFFAw/video.html , a bunch of exercises graded) but personally I gave this V13! Atleast for me :-)
Awesome job. I love to see the dedication to achieving a huge goal. You are a great example to follow
You're absolutely insane 🔥💪
Both sides? ;)
You got me. Really should’ve tried left arm 😅
@@EmilAbrahamssonyou can do it! ;) interesting how the explosiveness of the move relates to sticking it! You clearly see the difference in explosiveness between the old try’s and the send.
Eight years? Isn't that how old Sean and Drewwere when they first did it?
J/K Great achievement. What do you think got you over the top (literally)?
Hhahaha top tier comment I’m sure that’s right.
Not sure what specifically made the difference, but lots of power training (Kilterboard+some weighted pull-ups+campus training) and creatine
1-5-9 is absolutely insane. You are hella strong
