That is... plausible, and you're the first person to actually point that out. I figured both would explode if within the same vicinity of one another. I ain't a smart man, but if there's evidence to back that up; that would make sense.

@@ArrogantNinjaStudios You need either extremely high pressure on a very specific area, or a ridiculous amount of heat... A little rocket fuel isn't going to do it.
The reason why fusion isn't easy is because you need even more ridiculous levels of pressure or heat, compared to fission, to trigger a nuclear reaction.

Man, thank you for your explanation. I am from Brazil, 30 years old, and i played it when i was a kid, just as you did. I am from Brazil, in the time, i didnt understand english and just loved the game. Few years ago i tried to search for new informations about the end game, but got even more confused. Now i am still here looking for answers. Maybe you're right, they made it to make us confuse and to keep looking for explanations. Now my english is way better and i could listen to you for 37 minutes.

Hey man! Great Video! First of all, lets put in context: First: The outliner of this game is Kenichi Iwao and the Writer is Noboru Sugimura. The first one is responsible to create the High Concept of games for Capcom and Square at the time, being in his Belt RE and PE1. And Noboru is RE2 and PE2. DC2 was to be a PS2 title, but it was rushed to be a PS1 title for lack of knowledge about PS2 engine, because make game on PS2 was very hard and unknown on that Era.
So in a period of just one year, they invested on gameplay as you say, motion capture (this is one of the first game ever put to use) and fun replay status, that it is the best part of this game! The Story neve gather much materials, because Iwao and even Sugimura was getting out of Capcom and going to Square. So i think they just got, the Beginning and the End of a Concept idea, without really having no middle or any explanation (and im not kidding). And do to pressure they just go for it!
The most logical answer to the Eternal question is How in the Hell is this make senses? I dunno, but in my theory is that the 3RD Energy is like a Mega Laser Cannon that when shot its split time and space, and at the end of each point, its swap the places and objects between the trace. That was the whole objective of the project. How it works, apparently even Kirk knows haha, because how in heavens can you miscalculate 65 million years for a data of transport. DUNNO!
1 - But i think that, the first incident swap things to the 65 million yrs ago, that will explain the paradox of were humans came from, or whatever. Thats how you destroy live, with humans killing all species to compose the Fauna from the world (almost like Sound of thunder book)
2 - I think that they go for 3 million in the future because it was a safe date that nothing was existent in that time, life was no more. But what they swap from 3 million years back we dont know. Perhaps, it is the present date of the Characters of the Boat!
3 - Its a mistery that Doctor Kirk is not in this game too, was he in the 3 millions in the future? Not a memo hinting.
4 - Unfortunately we never know. But i the best guess is that Dylan never dies in the accident and sgot injury and Paula got to the Pod without legs, but it makes no sense too. I think it was all an atempt to create a franchise that never be.
Personally if i was to make a continuation, i will put Old Regina, 30 yrs late with some white hair mix with red, rinckles, scars, trying to still Rescuing Dylan from the DC2 timeline. She robbed the Data, after the Government Refuse to accept a rescuing from the Rescuing mission.
If someone read this so far! I apreciate your time, thanks!

In my head, it went a little something like this (assuming that all the events occur in the same timeline). The 2009 accident brought Dinosaurs to the present time, the 2010 accident took the lab, the surrounding area and its people to another time, and left a jungle in its place, with ONLY flora in it. They did not however knew from which time the vegetation belonged to. Then, assuming it belonged to the past, the government send the TRAT team and Regina to rescue the people that were engulfed in the accident, while continuing to do research on the 3rd Energy. Along the years they experience some consequences regarding the accident in 2009 (let's indulge in the ripple effect), maybe diseases, some people or cultures evaporating in thin air, fossil fuel disappearing etc. Fast forward a bit to 2055, they finally discover what was wrong. The 1st accident is causing the ruin of the human race. Knowing their impending doom, WAPP created another "accident", on purpose, sending all the dinos let loose on Kirk's facility to the future, where they could grow and reproduce (maybe current weather conditions frail them, causing them to perish slowly or shrink in size, or prevented them from mating, making them infertile of smth) and then send them back where they came from HOPING it would stabilize the present and prevent human extintion. Of course, the gate they created engulfed the facility they were in and all its people, as it did in 2010. There, 3 mil. years into the future, the researches are treating the dinos and helping them grow in test tubes, while also making sure that the current weather/atmosphere is ideal to the dinos' survival AND, still, studying the 3rd Energy. The computer somehow fails and dinos are set loose. A bunch of people die, but the remaining people, knowing that they failed to save 2055's humans, in the last hope of saving humankind, conduct an experiment on their own children, trying to create bio-engineered humans that can co-exist with dinos. The experiment requires an incubation period, and they set it so that the children would wake up when the process is complete. First, three kids, using them as a ground base for the project, them the rest of them. The last reseacher dies making sure those kids would live in a new tomorrow. Meanwhile dinos thrive and mate, populating the future earth. Then the 2010 people (and buildings) arrive, the dinos come, kill most of them and few remain trying to survive. It is by this time that the 1st three kids from the experiment wake up. However, one unforeseeable consequence of the experiment, aside from losing their speech, is that they now see dinos as a thing to protect and they defend the dinos from the people that arrived at their world. Some time later, TRAT members and Regina arrived too. As it turns out, they didn't have a clue what time these people ended up, nor did they know that they're on the future, instead of the past. Everything happens and Regina and Dylan end up at the facility. The last researcher (in this case, it wasn't Dylan and the girl wasn't his daughter) left a message explaining what happened and what they did to whoever found it and that, if, somehow a time traveler were to end up at the facility (maybe someone from 2055) , that there was enough energy left for one more trip through the time gate and that he would save all the data from the Noah's Ark project, the 3rd Energy and the bio-engineered humans project just in case it was useful or, in case it didn't work, they could perfect it and bring hope to the present people (maybe the past people as well). Regina takes it, goes through the gate, Dylan dies trying to protect the girl. The end. I personally think that what the plot fails to deliver is WHEN stuff actually happens, and if it all happens in the same timeline or not. If they didn't put Dylan as the hologram, the story could've been more cohesive. Anyways, that's my two cents. ✌🏻

This is about as coherent an explanation as could be expected. Love the game play, hate the story as its a disjointed, completely jumbled mess. The only way I think it could make reasonable sense is if future Dylan were trying to save an alternate timeline where the temporal, bullshit plot device, disturbances took place...even then that's a stretch because why would you risk everything in your life to save another timeline? I get the feeling they had a good grasp on an ok story up until the end, and then just threw a bunch of time loop type disaster elements together, hoping it would work out. I don't really know man, regardless thanks for putting thus video together. This games story still keeps me up at night lol. My personal theory is that it is a unique timeline: as far as i am concerned,in the Dino Stalker game there are hints about Regina being able to save Dylan. So when Dylan comes back to his time,he manages to create the Noa's Ark plan. Probably the effects of the first incident are not immediate and the crisis expands even in the decades after so there is still need to fix the timeline of the universe. Probably Dylan thought to be able to fix things now that he has knowledge, but actually as also the film Tenet shows, even with time travel destiny can't be changed. The gate disappears and this happens beyond their control and the Noa's Ark plan is a failure. If you think about it this makes sense: if the first incident created a problem in the fabric of space-time,it created it in the whole space-time,present and future, and this makes impossible to human to predict what happens. That's the actual Time Crisis.
So the Noa's Ark plan fails and Dylan sets the message to his past self hoping he can fix things. In a unique timeline/universe the events end here, since Dylan is now dead 3 million years in the future. Nothing will ever change at this point.
From 2055 no one came back from the Noa's ark plan project so humanity should be f*cked up at this point, but this is beyond me since i have never played DC3 and probably never will.
PS (SPOILER ALERT FOR TENET): in the film Tenet the protagonist almost lives the exact same thing: he lives thing in his time only to acquire the knowledge needed to go back in time and guide his former self into the exact mission he has just done and is easy to belueve why: because he was successful thanks to the help from himself from the future. The loops isn't actually a loop because the protagonist just lives in a linear way anyway, once he has concluded his help towards his past self, the timelines keep proceeding in a linear way. Tenet is,to be honest, very similar to DC but with a twist: future humanity wants to fk up past humanity to save their time,so the produce damages in the past to improve their future but well is a bit more complicated than this and is almost beyond my comprension too at some points

I just beat this again today. -I haven’t watched this video yet.
I've tried to make sense of the story since I first played this in 2000, so I’ll list my understanding here before watching.
I think its best to think of time travel here as like the one in Marvel, and not BTTF.
Essentially, the version I believe is:
Edward City is transported to a different time (as we know), where there are no dinosaurs. We know this because the jungle which trades places with 2010 EC has no dinosaurs in it (recorded as an in-game documented entry). - I believe in the original sequence of events, Regina, Dylan AND the survivors return, with the 2010 Third Energy Disk included (and David, lol) - events which are later identified as being 3 million years ahead of their own.
By 2055, Third Energy has been further developed and “perfected”. During that year, a time skew is identified, requiring immediate attention. Dylan, now a senior officer, leads the “Noah’s Ark Project” using his knowledge from the events of 2010. He knows the future environment (3 million years ahead) is suitable and free of “dangers” (having recovered the survivors of 2010) to temporarily re-home the dinosaurs of the Cretaceous until the time skew resolves.
The Noah’s Ark Plan begins, travelling forward to “that” time, approximately 3 years after EC’s arrival and 7 years before TRAT - TRAT arriving 10 years after EC’s displacement.
The NAP also goes equipped with a weaponised satellite and the means to launch it into space (evidenced by the wall plaque which states the country at some point successfully weaponises third energy), presumably to destroy the facility after they’ve completed the mission, or as a fail safe.
The 2010 survivors are (at first) unaware of the 2055 team’s arrival. The “future” couldn’t interfere and save the “past” so as not to alter the events of 2010, however, this is where things go wrong…
The NAP project almost immediately fails; the transported dinosaurs break containment and the facility falls. Everyone perishes except Dylan and the children, who survive for a few years thanks to the converted dinosaur-rehabilitation pods (Dylan sacrifices himself but not before recording his last message to his younger self knowing his failure there will definitely interfere with the 2009 survivors and his former self).
The dinosaurs having escaped containment now spread out and invade Edward City - people who have been established, alone, in this time for some time.
Shortly after and with no one to guide them, the children, too, venture out. They’re in pursuit of protecting the dinosaurs and inadvertently discover Edward City, as well. The helmet-wearing “children” attack the 2010 survivors who are defending themselves against this new wave of dinosaur threat, believing the 2010 humans to be the danger and not the dinosaurs. - this is due to dino-pod rehabilitation programme which alters the mindset of the injured children. Both the dinosaurs and children are now documented in diary entries, confused as to why for years there was no signs of life, but now there’s dinosaurs AND humans from a “different time”. - this is confirmation their time line has now been altered.
Edward City managing “fine” for years is now thinning out fast and are running out of supplies, ammo and defences. Their last intended act is to fire up the nuclear warhead, but not before loading it up with the Third Energy data disc, which I assume was a way of destroying the information to prevent any other accidents from occurring. However, this final act never comes to fruition.
Fast forward seven years, TRAT & Regina now arrive to an altered timeline, different to Dylan’s lived experience and the events which will now unfold are the ones we play. - this is where typical BTTF time travel theory can’t apply, but you could argue parts do based on the fact there are never two of one person at the same time; older Dylan dies before younger Dylan arrives, etc.
The outcome for the 2010 event has now changed and only Regina escapes. However, in this version, Regina theoretically escapes with the 2010> & 2055> Third Energy Data, which she can use to fix the time skew in her original time. Sadly, mind, I believe Dylan and Paula do die. Not because of poor writing, but I think bringing Paula back would create another skew. Dylan wouldn’t leave Paula, Regina would know this, so doesn’t attempt to save him, despite having the 2055 data & gate schematics.
Thats as far as I’ve got, so far…
    The End.

I really like the story they tells us, but the two biggest problems I see in the story are, as you say, the Dylan of the future should have warned the Dylan of the present of what was going to happen. and the one from the present should have been smarter and left with Regina and then returned to save the survivors and the other biggest problem the Ark project would have been a good idea only if they had sent them to the past it would have stopped the paradoxes they were experiencing

Awesome video! Just wanted to point out one thing. 23:44 It was actually “May 10th, 2010”, as Dylan states when we first see him on the boat. That being said, thank you for explaining the timeline and everything. I love this game, and played it a lot growing up, but the plot was very confusing, and still is in some areas lol.
But yeah, why wouldn’t Future Dylan warn Present Dylan what was going to happen? Unless, like you said, his situation went down differently than Present Dylan’s did. This leads me to several other questions. Did Future Dylan also have to fight the Giganotosaurus when he was younger? If so, was the Anti-Satellite System still there? Who set that up? And if it wasn’t there, how did he escape from the Giga? Did he have a Future Dylan of his own? If so…. wouldn’t he have known ahead of time that the Noah’s Ark Plan wasn’t going to work, and that he’d be trapped in the same time period as before?
