This is absolutely stunning spread! What a wonderful artist. We started our children listening to classical music at an early age. After we had loud neighbors move in. We played it loud enough to muffle other noise. At first we raised the volume a lil at a time so they would sleep soundly. It worked like a charm. Stay crafty.❤xo💜xo💙xo💛xo💖xo💚

taking a book and painting over the pages to turn it into an art journal is such a great idea!
Beautifully done, I love the way the yelIow flowers and the vintage pics just flow smoothly together to give it a vintage look. I also love using watercolor pencils and watercolor crayons, it sometimes makes it easier to use then watercolor paints. I use Caran D'ache which is a little pricy but the pencils and crayons are very smooth and the pigmentation is absolutely beautiful. You mentioned your baby is 30 months old, Wow!!! Time flies!!! I remember when you mentioned you were pregnant! God Bless you and your family.
I have the Inktense pencils and haven't used them for a while. This was a great idea, especially since they set when dry. Love listening to you talk about your family and the baby while you work. Thank you for your inspiration.

The use of the pencils gave the piece a more finished aged look. Just the right detail.
Love you and anything you need to do is fine! You are real and human and whatever you need to do is all right with me! You are worth it, I learn something every time I watch! I even find myself saying "what would Marta do?"
I agree totally. I find myself watching things I never thought I would do just to hear her chatter and then before I know it, I’m trying it lol. I always say, “It’s up to yourself.” And “Use your pretty things, don’t hoard them.” Like Marta says lol.

I love the way you have some of those “happy ideas” while you’re crafting as you did with the pencil. It’s a super idea and a lot less mess then using watercolors. We all love your videos, but it’s hard to believe Hannah is 13 months. Time sure seem to fly by.

It was such a pleasure to watch this piece evolve as you chose your images and placed them. But, the best part, by far, was watching you tease the shadows out with those pencils! They brought so much depth and dimension - I must learn to do this.
It's hard to find an artist who knows when to stop. So many collage artists pile layer upon layer in such a haphazard manner that it seems more like therapy than art. Because you exercised restraint, your piece has room to breathe. It is gorgeous.
You have a beautiful speaking voice and are a pleasure to watch. I think the word you were looking for when you were describing the effect of the shadows is "definition." They provide definition. Liked, subscribed, and will share. I'm so happy I found you. ~ Lisa

Beautiful. I love how you recycled a book. I have always wanted to try art journaling but felt intimidated to buy a quality art journal because I’m a beginner. Don’t feel worthy but now I’m going to get me a thrift store book and create a page! Thank you for your inspiration!

Marta. Loved watching your journal page come together. Love the water pencils for your shadowing it makes such a big difference in your final out come. I have to find my materials and unpack them I feel the need to be creative.
Wow, that is awesome. I love the rice papers and the way you shaded everything. Very pretty. When you were talking about the dog barking and maybe waking Hannah, I remembered when my son was a baby. He could have a nice long nap, but after changing him, I had to bring him downstairs and sit him down until he was ready to come to me. If I talked to him before he was ready, he would be in a bad mood the rest of the day. LOL

When it comes to babies it's always like that. As soon as the baby is down for a nap someone or something makes noise. I hope Hannah was able to nap well and wake up happy 🥰

I always love your videos and I learn so much. I am discovering that because your voice is so soothing I cannot finish the video if I am sleepy. It’s like you are a lullaby. Haha.
Stunning page!! I remember when my children were young and there was a lot of “noise” outside. We would turn a small fan on ( just for the noise it makes ) as a distraction from the outside noise. It would be loud enough to muffle the unwanted noises. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of this...but it helps. The children do not hear any other noise but the humming of the fan...just an idea for you and sweet Hannah ♥️

It's called white noise and it really works. In the summer when it's so hot here, we put our floor fan on and it cuts out all the noise (it's like a dog kennel here in the summer!), as well as cooling us down in the night because we don't have aircon in our bedrooms. It's well worth trying Marta, means you can go about your noise a bit better too without having to tiptoe around. As long as the fan doesn't blow on a child directly, it'll work.

Mixed media art like this is such a blessing for people like me who simply can NOT ever make up their mind what media they want to work in. Who knew there would ever be a art form where you could throw anything and everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink if that's what you're feeling at the moment at a "canvass" and people would love it.? In this art world if it makes color or has texture it can be part of a art project. I love it. And of course the lady in the video is a genius at choosing colors and placement and all that. 😊

Always such a joy to watch you create...I love love love this journal page, but Oh dear!... every time I watch you using Inktense pencils I want to just rush out and buy some, but I've had to quarantine myself from all art supplies for a while... I have far too much stashed in drawers in my tiny craft space, and am soooo disappointed with some of my impulse buys...particularly the watercolour pencil set that I've now donated to the grand children to play with!)...so have had to say ''enough!''for now. :( Thank you for sharing your beautiful art; huge hugs as always you made my day brighter!

I totally agree with you! Kids fight napping like it is a punishment, but when you get to be my age naps are like manna from heaven. Forget "Hell hats no fury like a woman scorned", that fails in comparison to a child woke up from a nap!

Awe inspiring ! This is worth another comment, haven't used intense pencils myself! But have used watercolor pencils!
They are great. I don’t live near a craft store & shipping is expensive so I ordered some from Ebay $15 free shipping. So who knows if they’re real but even these work great. I love way better than my watercolor pencils.

Oh haven't done art journalling for quite a while. Actually, had no hang to it recently. I was rather inspire by some other projects of yours and rather did some mixed media jar lids :-)

Btw: I do recognize the rice paper with the yellow roses. Got a similar, but mine is nearly used up, will need to grab some new one.
I love using rice paper as well, but it is hardly known in Germany and can only be bought online, if you want patterned ones.
