Marta, you do it EVERY time! Every make starts lovely but about half way through I can’t seem to understand where you are going and how you are going to pull it all together. I should never doubt as somehow the Marta Magic takes over (just a little bit 😊) and ‘poof’ it always ends gorgeous!

Oh Marta I completely agree with you. If we don’t love our projects then how can we expect anyone else to. Some projects will always turn out better than others, but that’s just the way it happens sometimes. I have loved using rice papers recently too. Be proud of your efforts guys and just have fun creating. Beautiful page 💕💕💕

The flu is going around in the states now. So you and Dad need to take care of yourselves. You know you have so many that have grown to love all of you. You are truly a very special person, we love your crafting ideas. You know that there so many artists of the past that loved their work, but other did not appreciate it. Then years later everyone one says how great their art is. I believe many folks that craft would be surprised to see how their grandchildren and great grandchildren will treasure their crafts after they are gone. If you love it, and it makes you happy. Then it’s a masterpiece and you can bet someone will love it also. So, I’m so glade to hear you telling everyone to not be afraid to say, “I’m just loving it”. You all are in my prayers daily.

It is gorgeous! I was inspired to start a page by this video. If I manage to get it done I will share in the cafe. I have had a journaling block this year and maybe this will help me get through it. Much happiness for miss Emily and all your family being well again!
A beautiful two page spread, love the rice paper. I love your thought process which changes from minute to minute lol. I think I preferred less black and a little green, but love the overall effect. So glad Emily is better and congratulations on winning the competition

Beautiful! Blue is my favorite color. I hope Emily continues to get better. My mom had scarlet fever as a child and back then (probably early 1940’s), they quarantined the house. No one could go anywhere. Thankfully, they have better treatments today.

Hope Emily gets well soon. I had Scarletina when I was a child, I remember I was really sick with it. You hear of scarlet fever quite often, but not scarletina. I just started working in my art journal. For the longest time, I was terrified to try mixed media. I figured (after talking to a few crafters and watching you🤗) that I just had to jump in and go for it. So thank you Marta for being a huge inspiration and motivation for me to finally just go for it! Plus, taking your bird class is what really got me to go for it. 🤗🤗 I LOVE your pages!!!! ❤️❤️ I love working with rice paper and napkins, so this page really speaks to me. Lol I love the question of if you really do love your work when you say you love it. I was wondering that too!🤣 xxx

I had scarlatina when I was at a high school dance and we met the band and I remember feeling OK, but I had a rash all over my body and face but I didn't want to leave the fun. I tried to hide it from my mom when I got home because I wanted to go out the next day, but she caught me and off to the doctor we went. LOL I had to stay in my bedroom, I had my own utensils and plates, etc because my dad had heart problems, and I wasn't allowed to come out of my room. Such great memories.
Newbie here, catching up! I successfully made my own modeling paste yesterday, so I'll be buying stencils next! Thank you so much for your instruction and encouragement. If you get to California someday, I hope to take a class from you personally.

This was very inspirational, Marta. So happy to hear that Emily is on the mend and that Hannah escaped being ill. I find that sometimes when I am creating and I feel like it is beautiful and it is done and then I walk away and when I come back, it isn't quite right and usually I see what I need to do to make it right, for me. I think a lot of the time it is perspective. Can't wait for your new shop to open. Take care and love to your family.

Awww I love that =) And I like your "why not?" attitude so much. This is art, there are no rules how to do things. Art lives from experimenting and finding out about new techniques. Please, don't ever justify why you created something the way you did. You felt like it and that's fine.
Btw: I like Rice Papers a lot, too. Got a whole bunch, enough for a lifetime.
As for Emily and Hannah: Poor girls, glad Emily is better. As one of my teachers used ot say: You can't NOT communicate. So they communicated in another way than usually.

When little, one of my sons had a double ear infection (or was it strep throat) that went into scarlet fever. Once he was on an antibiotic he felt much better in a short amount of time. I am sorry it was so scary for you. I am sure it was especially hard on Emily. From now on out it will be smoother sailing. How cute the way that Hannah showed love to her sister.

I love your videos and I’ve never done mixed media and have bought some of the tools needed, however, I am turned away from starting due to the cleaning after. 🤷🏻♀️. How do you clean your tools!? Brushes, stencils, your hands 😀. Can you do a video?

I thought a scrap book is to give oneself ideas and inspiration. Then someone saw it and now I'm doing a scrap book on commission. They want to put it on a stand and turn the pages as they like. WHAT A SURPRISE. I'm really having fun with it, making each page in another style.
