  • Okay folks! I have been making a second MS660 Magnum build! I honestly am not sure what I will do with it yet! I have been wanting to make a MS460 build for a while now though! seems there is ZERO how to videos on building one! Motorized bicycle hobby is fun! If you want to get creative and try to make one go for it! But as always be safe and use common sense with any DIY project it's a must.

    So I will be building this on a 38mm Stroke PK80 bottom half! MS460 is actually a 36mm Stroke engine so this will put us in ballpark to make this all work! I am not making this for a high end super speed build. this going on a daily rider and I just want one with enough power to run 40mph in the areas I ride without having a heart attack trying! Or giving the ride a heart attack on it LOL!
    I will be building this engine in steps from start to finish! I do use a cnc mill so yeah sorry! But most people can dermal out those parts and such on the project or use drill press and such! Just posting my build process and how I did it! If you have any questions and such! Go for it! just keep it clean and polite so all can read it!
    Thanks to all the peeps that follow my channel that are liked and subscribed! All the add revenue from these videos go right back into more builds just like this one! I don't do paid promotions of items or anything like that so this channel does not end up as a crap item sales peddling channel like others! It helps a lot thanks!

    I always thought a Stihl two stroke circular saw engine would make the most reliable two-stroke build ever. Something with an external transmission, opposed to using a bottom end of a china doll. Unfortunately I haven't been able to figure out a way to make it work yet.

    • @BuildBreakFix
      @BuildBreakFix  Před 2 lety +3

      tell yeah what though! yeah stihl jugs are a boss even without a trans! Transmission would be hard on one! But!!! with that said! Suzuki Snow blower engines! with a CVT are the freaking boss when comes to gokarts! I have 4 stroke CVT build I been considering replacing with one. 160-210cc 2 stroke about the size of a 50cc 4 stroke kit motor! one day maybe one day! lol!

      Ms660 has a very tiny window for error on the bottom end cut. Honestly you need a mill for it. 1mm off in any direction the bottom end is toasted. This ms460 is much more forgiving with +/- 3mm each side!

    • @BuildBreakFix

      Can't cause ported for all speed! Like no low end power! People have tried but you have to pedal like fool to get bicycle up to speed so engine can drive a sprocket. Seen few and they fly like mofo lol but you need like tow and such to get going!

    Quick question.
    I'm in the middle of a 440 build. I'm filling the crank case studs with aluminum as we speak. How many of the 2oz packages (contains x2 tubes) of the JB weld did you need to fill the transfers?

    • @BuildBreakFix
      @BuildBreakFix  Před 9 měsíci

      1 oz tubes of each part can fill 3 bottom ends fully. Quick tip! Use painters tape to make a damn on each half where jug sits* jb weld will not stick to painters tape. Gives you a clean deck surface out of the gate with little sanding

      @@BuildBreakFix I went to Harbor Freight on Thursday and forgot to grab some. I have tons of masking tape. I know the difference is painters tape is less adhesive.

    What would happen if I use a regular 6v coil ?

    • @BuildBreakFix
      @BuildBreakFix  Před 10 měsíci +1

      The air full mix will not always burn off completely as it wont have enough spark in a higher combustion environment. These saw jugs are known for very tight non leaking rings. Think of it this way. Motorized 80cc kit run on about 130psi of compression. Saw builds run about 200psi of compression. More compression the harder it is for a spark to form. Which will overheat the coils and blow the magnetos as they work to hard trying to create spark with CDI.

    • @BuildBreakFix
      @BuildBreakFix  Před 2 lety +1

      Honestly yd100 bottom end would be better. I just dont have one at the min. But I have a cnc mill to make the one I have 54mm lol. Cause you would only have to fill the transfers with epoxy. Hole is already 54mm in a yd100 case, enough in the top hole not need any milling for ms460 build. Next video tomorrow dropping shows ripping it apart filling the transfers. One after that is the cutting of the bottom half. Most use a dremel for making them.

    • @BuildBreakFix
      @BuildBreakFix  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Not really. Deck height to low by 6mm. Bore cut is razor close to max OD. Stud spacing is kinda out of bounds for easy mounting anyhow. Doable yes. Is it easy. For sure no

    I seen someone put a 395xp jug on a bt100 bottom end with minimal modifications, i was asking them questions and they said they have built one without filling the transfer feeds in the case,i know this would probly change how it would run but is it true you dont have to fill them?

    • @BuildBreakFix
      @BuildBreakFix  Před 10 měsíci

      😂 well one bt100 case almost identical to yd100 bottom end. (Shape wise where jug mounts) no way he used a 395xp 🤣 either. Probably a 390 or 395. But not an xp. Reason I say this is how the mechanical ports work on those are changed by rotating weight expander on drive shaft in the saw it's self. Would require a custom made CNC case and a crank shaft. That there is a typical CZcams bs'er thing lol. 390 maybe. But you would still have to fill cases transfers because jug is 50x55mm 48x48 bolt pattern. The crank case transfers widest points are 60mm on bt100. You would have holes open on each side of the jug and bt100 is 50x50 stud pattern. None of that lines up lol
      I built many saw builds on my channel step by step for people to see none bs ways lol that I can assure you was bs 😅

      Actually no. They tend to break at the bearing journals on clutch side internally! Great engine normally but they use thin wall journals on one side!
