I could be wrong but im pretty sure the bagging should only be done on 3" or less of growth. We cut at 3.25" if the grass is over 7" we just get the rakes out or just cut it multiple times and leave it.
You’re a brave man for doing that in the grass and not on a driveway or something. I would have lost every single nut and bolt. I ordered a bagger for my 42 inch about 2 months ago and the dealer still has no clue when it will come in. I was hoping to have it by fall for leaf clean up. Have you ever used their mulching system? I was thinking about just mulching the leaves instead of bagging them but I worry all of that debris maybe too much for the lawn to handle.
LOL, that was the best place I had. I had a magnet on standby just in case! I'm sure the reason for the delay is CoVID, that seems to be the excuse for everything lately. I have never used the mulching system, but I'm sure it would chop everything up finely. I guess it would just depend on how heavy the leaves are.
Great video. May I ask... what's the overall width of the mower with the catcher installed? I'm trying to understand the width clearance needed to get into a shed. Thanks Steve
Nick Lloyd thanks for the compliment. I measured the bagger and it’s only about 41” wide at the widest point in the back. It looks like the deck is the widest part. If you have a few inches clearance on the deck you should be good.
Did you install the blades that came with the bagger or just leave the ones that were on the mower on the mower? My bagging unit came with 2 blades so I'm assuming they are the bagging blades
I used the blades that came on the mower for a long time (until they were dull), then switched. I didn't notice much of a difference when I did switch them though.
I agree with the bags being small. As long as I cut the grass when it was a reasonable length it didn't clog too bad in my experience. That being said, I haven't had it on my mower for over a year. It also sticks out behind the mower really far. I constantly hit stuff with it.
@@crab0000 hi steve i have tryed i feel everything i at fist i wasn't doing it right trying to cut to much grass at one time so i tryed cutting rasing the deck still plugged the i tryed mowing and letting the grass dry and mow same height and still go plugged i have a sweeper and looked it doesn't even have a hitch
Super helpful! Thank you for taking the time to do this
Kubota, pay once cry once 😢 Kubota is the " Toyota " of small power equipment $$$😊

Thanks for the info! That would probably cut down on the amount of grass thrown from the front of the deck.

Dang mine was only $650 + Tax
Thank You for the video
No problem, you got a good deal!
This is the biggest was of money when o got mine i thought for the price it would have bigger bags and a fan to help with clogging.

Your right about the the premium price, doesn't seem like much for $750.00
No, but it's the only option for this mower!
It's meant to bag fresh cut grass not bale clumps of 5 inch long cut grass laying on the ground
Works worse with freshly cut grass leafs are the only thing thos bagger is good for.
What do you expect when you vacuum a hay field ? I have a Z 122 with a mulch kit and I'm very impressed how well it works.
I love the mower, it is amazing still! I guess I expected a little more from the grass catcher for $800.
It does the same thing with my lawnmower Kubota needs to work on the distribution with the bags
I agree!

@@TheBerto840 Thanks!
What is the model number for that bagger I can't find one anywhere
I’m honestly not sure. I got mine from my local Kubota dealer years ago. Sorry I can’t be of more help!
Can You tell me, where I can buy this counterbalance weight bracket?
It came with my bagger. I'm not sure if it can be bought seperately.
Do you have the part number for catcher? I can’t find the right one.
I will try to find the manual and get the part number to you.
Mine is GCK42-122Z Hope that helps!
Thanks
Steve, where is your follow-up video?
Sorry for the delay! I will work on it ASAP. I am more happy with it now that I have figured out its limits.
Hi. Have you uploaded the follow up video yet pls. Thinking of purchasing one but these look so small
The follow up video is up! czcams.com/video/sfI-zF2y3JY/video.html
Plugs all the time and the bags are really small
