      Escape from America
takes place many years after he set off that world wide EMP
everybody hates him for "killing" the world, but some see him as some kinda savior because he caused humanity to start anew.
He's old and on the verge of death when he's infected by an age increasing drug, and is on a race against time as the only cure is across the borders of mexico, which are guarded by an army of road pirates.
It'd be like Mad Max mixed with Equilibrium.

My dad let me watch this movie all the time when I was about 9/10 years old. He was a huge Kurt Russell fan. Anyway, Halloween is approaching & everyone is going around the class room naming who they were going to dress up as. Of course, I say Snake Plissken (I may have said "Blissken") & everyone in the class room give me a confused look with some giggling &whispering. My teacher asks me in a smart ass tone, "who's that"? The class bursts out laughing.
    I felt like a fool.

Back in the day during the escape from New York and La era he would have made the best solid snake character for metal gear solid

“Hey man, easy!” That made me laugh harder than it should have. I’m surprised some video game company never jumped on the Escape from (insert apocalyptic city here) craze. That would be a pretty interesting quest game if it was done right.

Russell once said “Snake” was the only character he would play twice ( escape from New York & L.A. ) Until he played Santa Claus of course

He's got a new heist movie coming out, called "The Art of the Steal", with Terence Stamp (the original General Zod), and he's shooting a horror western, called "Bone Tomahawk", where he leads a posse to rescue some settlers from cannibals (think "Hills Have Eyes" meets "Unforgiven"), hence his look here.

Damn...now I think Kurt Russell should've been the voice for Big Boss on Metal Gear Solid 5 instead of Sutherland. Especially since the character Snake is based off of the character Russell played as in Escape from New York.

If I'm not mistaken, Kurt's look here might be for another movie he's currently involved with, a horror western called "Bone Tomahawk." It might explain the longish hair and grizzly beard

The four guys testimony only validates just how badass and how well Snake Plissken was portrayed and is as an iconic character. Just think about it. Kurt put fear into the hearts of real rough street thugs without saying a word.
