I remember being so thrilled that Simon Baker and Sanaa Lathan did this movie together. Both such phenomenal actors and their chemistry was amazing. It was so believable and heartfelt.

Then you’ll appreciate a Oprah interview they did about the movie. The studio audience (in unison said, “…aaawwhhh…” when they found out that Simone was married in real life. It was one of those hallmark moments, because they were not “Qued” to do that.

Kenya later discovers that what she wants isn't what she needs. She needs an adventure. She needs Brian. (BTW, scientifically speaking, there is only one race - human.)

👀 I don’t think they’re ready for that type of movie 😂 after all, there was shot in the movie where a BM was kissing a WM during the restaurant scene where the female lead and her friends were talking about men.

This movie was kind of odd. I remember watching it but at the same time it feels like a lifetime
Why did you think it was odd? Did you find the characters a mismatch? I thought the script was quite lacking.
It felt like there were a lot of slow scenes that would just happen, then it ends, then another scene would happen.
@@chasehedges6775 I see what you mean. Its like they cuts out too many scenes. They didnt give these two enough scenes to establish any kind of bond to where Kenya felt she is meant to be with him.
Also the black tax stuff was overdone.
It was just a bit meh.
Good concept though.
