I love this. This is what real journalism looks like. When politicians are asked direct, concise questions and evade them especially to speak about something completely different they need to be shut down and called on it immediately. Debates are the closest thing we have to job interviews for politicians and we need to stop treating them with kid gloves. He's direct without being unduly condescending, mean, or rude; he just wants the truth. The only thing missing is the ability to cut the mics of these little prima donnas when they start getting all uppity about the tiniest bit of accountability.

It’s tragic that Kyle is so good at what he does. We’re probably going to lose him. Denver‘s loss will be the nations game. We need good journalists like him
For Colorado, yes, it would be a loss. But as you point out, it would be the _nation's_ gain, which is good for everybody. We definitely need more journalists like him - prepared, knowledgeable, and not willing to let politicians deny, deflect, or denounce their way out of the truth.
Unfortunately if he goes to that level they will not allow him to ask those kinds of questions. He will have to tow a line so to speak. One tough interview and that politician will be making calls to that network requesting him to "tone it down" so the network can continue to have "access" to said politician.

This moderator is the BEST!! I've seen him interviewing another Republican, I can't remember who, and I was sitting and applauding him for how he was conducting the interview. What a disservice to the American people if Kyle doesnt moderate a debate this election season

When I was an Asst DA in NY County, I would occasionally turn to the judge when doing a cross exam, and say, “your Honor, would you please instruct the witness to answer the question I put to him, as opposed to the question he had hoped I might ask” - this guy is brilliant.

Fellow Coloradoan here. I moved to MO for my job for a few yrs. I was not too fond of local news there. St Louis had decent local news, but it was still skewed. I missed Kyle Clark more than anyone. He's older than he looks and very experienced. He has been on for at least 20 years. I'll bet the Network brings him "Uptown"soon. Esp since he has a few good viral videos out there. Its so good to be back in CO
This my first time seeing Mr. Clark. I saw the previous comment, which upon viewing this clip also immediately sprung to my mind; Clark would be fantastic moderating the Presidential Debates.
Politicians in general rarely answer the pointed questions and veer to their talking points which generally have little to do with the topic.

I have served as both a moderator and facilitator in both small and large group discussions in very critical, charged environments with people who are very opinionated and it takes substantial amount of planning and preparedness to be able to keep everybody in line and going down the road straight straight..... This moderator showed one of several in keeping everyone in line and focusing on the issues that need to be heard. The other two techniques are much less direct but very effective as well
