    Everyone here bashing a Kia, have never owned one. I still drive a 2006 Spectra with 210k miles. I bought it brand new, for $15k. It came with 4 wheel discs, Bluetooth.. 10 years later it's still going strong.
    Meanwhile, my Explorer died. Replaced it with a Pathfinder and discovered the horrible reliability of Nissan America (dealer explained American Nissans are Renault's since they own a share of Nissan.)
    I bought another Kia, this time a Sorento. I fucking love it. Don't knock Kias... this is how Toyota & Honda started, look at them today.

      BS, people do not need to own one to know the massive recall Kia/Hyundai is facing with their engines and connecting rods, usually cylinder 3 that will break. You know the thing that holds the pistons and move it up and down, yea that thing will destroy itself. They're giving replacement engines, that's how bad it is. The have major issues with carbon buildup, oil starvation, valve guides, and rotting fuel lines that leaks fuel into the engine bay. The interior trim rattles, even when fairly new, the glue used will lose it's adhesiveness, and older cars have terrible road noise. They also have a class action lawsuit on paint peeling and lets not forget the Kia boys.
      Nissan America? You must be kidding me. Nissan has been owned by Renault since 1999. It's not Nissan America, it's the entire Nissan brand. You can't compare Honda and Toyota, they started since the 60s when cars for the mass was still new and milling was still by hand. Koreans had it easier coming out during the tech age.
      Just because you own a Kia, or course you will say they're good cars. But I bet you your 2006 Spectra doesn't ride anywhere near my 2006 BMW E90, which still drives great, and interior has minimum rattles and road noise is surprisingly better than most new cars. I can still cruise at 85mph easily without stressing the engine. A Spectra will sound like a warzone at those speed.

    I have a 2016 Optima SXL Turbo. Beautiful car! Fun, fast and luxurious. Small tip, though... Get Michelin Premier tires. Gives better handling and grip to the road. No more tire squeeling when you boot it or take a turn fast.

    I bought a 2015 LX and I love it. Just wish it had a small block chevy motor and rear wheel drive, you know like cars are supposed to be. I want more grunt when you step on the go pedal. It makes a great family car, the first 4 door car I've ever owned. It's quiet, gets 28 mpg with me having a heavy foot, no wind noise and very quiet inside. I did dropped it 1 inch with a set of Eibach springs and upgraded the wheels to 18's with 235/45/18's and installed a bazooka in the trunk with 100 watt amp and replaced all speakers in the doors with 300 watt Kenwood speakers, also just changed the low beam headlights to LED's, soon to replace all the bulbs with LED's. I retired in 2015 so I don't drive much anymore it's only got 42k on the odo and is garaged most all the time so it still looks like new.

      A lot of wheel-spin on their run. Probably contributed to it

    • @DroneStrike1776
      @DroneStrike1776 Před 8 dny

      MotorTrend did a 7.3 second run and 15.4 in the quarter. 5.9 seconds is not believable at all. 3600lbs, front drive, slush box automatic, 245hp, there's no way in hell it's doing 5.9. The math doesn't add up. Kia and Hyundai are known for inconsistent performance. This car is slow. It's peak power on paper with poor delivery. It's probably a terrible drivetrain that's sapping the wheel horsepower.

  • @DroneStrike1776
    @DroneStrike1776 Před 8 dny

    How did they manage to make 245HP and 260TQ so slow? 7.1 sec to 60 is pathetic for that much power. 15.4 is .1 sec faster than my Mazda3 AWD hatch that only makes 186/186.

  • @counkev

      Fuel economy only happens to be better.... if you YOURSELF moderate the gas pedal.
      Its not the EPA numbers, or the NHTSA, or the Mags or the OEMs that make any change in it at all.

      Kia and Hyundai have built their lineup on the fact that VERY few people who buy their competition cars == Accord or Camry ever buy the V6. Most stay with the 4, accounting for over 80% of sales volume.
      NOW,
      With that said... there is no reason from their prospective to have a 6cyl if few even bother to buy it.
      ALSO, when was the last time you actually PUNCHED it enough to FEEL the V6? Past 70? Past 90? Past 110?
      I doubt youd notice the difference between the 2ltr Turbo... and your Camry.

      Terrible. If you like your car stolen, oil starvation, carbon buildup, peeling paint, interior rattles, and favor broken connecting rods, then buy it. Better how that connecting rod goes before your warranty because it requires a new engine.

  • @mitchlu
    @mitchlu Před 8 lety +1

    by the time you step up to the "hot rod motor" in the SX, for close to that price, you can get the base Maxima S which will blow the doors off of this thing in performance, comfort and looks...(nothing like a smooth V6)
