The brachycephalic dog snoring wasn't exactly healthy nor should it be considered funny. The breeds with short snout have troubles breathing because too much excessive tissue in their airways. This causes all kinds of other health problems in the long run as well. The laborious breathing can cause the airways to collapse even further and cause digestive problems such as pains and heartburn. Then there are all the other anatomical problems such as eye and skin infections, birthing problems, heart problems etc. Showing these breeds in videos and celebrities owning them makes them more popular, but they shouldn't be! They are very sick breeds. I really like watching this channel, but I hope you would show less short snouted breeds because showing them is part of the problem.
Otherwise, I really like this channel. It's good quality dog videos. :)

maybe it was adopted from a shelter?

@@imalwaysright Do you mean that the breathing issue came from the shelter or that showing this dog is more ok, because it might have been from a shelter? For the second one, in these kind of CZcams videos, where the dogs are just shown doing their thing and that being shared for other people's happiness without any context or disclaimer about the health issues these breeds have, is part of a bigger problem. Whether the dog is originally from a shelter or a breeder. In these videos, many symptoms of their sickness are normalized or even made to look cute. Like snoring or sleeping with a toy in the mouth which are both signs of constricted airways. It also works as an advertisement for these breeds as more people are likely to get them. This leads to the popularity of dogs that have been breed to be sick because they look cute to us. It makes me feel really sad.

No dog should be left to the shelter because of its breed, but I would consider choosing a different breed if I wanted to make content to advocate for adoption.
I think the biggest players in this problem are the kennels breeding short snouted dogs, people buying them from breeders and different players in society using these dogs in advertisement, cute dog videos and for example cartoon versions in mugs etc. The adopted dog owners could fit the last category, even though they are not supporting the kennels and therefore the breeding in that sense.
I don't mean to shame anyone who already owns a short snouted breed, but I wish people understood their responsibility when sharing these videos. For example in Finland, the president Sauli Niinistö had a boston terrier named Lennu. A journalist took a picture of Lennu smiling in Niinistö's arms and it went viral. After that, the breed became very popular and there was talk about the health issues after that. After this public conversation, he decided to withdraw Lennu from publicity to not advocate sick breeds.
I think he did the right thing.
