Enjoyed the video. I used to hear his voice on my scanner while railfanning in Rocky River. Always knew when an eastbound cleared the Black River drawbridge and could get my camera set up. Had 20 minutes to set up as well when a westbound cleared E. 55th street.

@1975grandville, Glad you enjoyed my father and his radio "OS's" while railfanning years ago, My Dad worked on the NKP from 1951 till retired in 1989,He worked from as far west at Runion Ave IN, New Haven IN, Latty, Leipsic Jct, North Findlay Tower, FS Tower on the edge of Fostoria, Blair Yard, Maple Grove Tower, Narlo, Green Springs Tower and his last 8 years at Lorain "RU". I spent a good portion of my childhood in the 60s with my Dad in the Rail Towers, what great fun and drama and memories

This was how they used to do it. A lost era. Thanks again...

The upper board is in Cleveland what was called CD - The Puzzle. I think it was about east 55th street or there abouts. CG was at this time controlled by the Brewster Dispatcher

Now it's all desktop computers in a central office somewhere. Like that orange square body Suburban too at 7:08.

Okay, it looks like the 55th St. to what is known as Cloggville, just west of the bridge in Cleveland.

    Correct.
If you send your email. I will send a couple of photos of the control panel and of the previous panel that only controlled Lorain before they remoted the CD panel

I take it the upper board is Avon/Sheffield and the lower board is the lift bridge/CL&W xing?
    Did he control CG?
Excellent video...learned a lot today about the NKP.

Awesome! Isn't it a shame that we let in illegal aliens and sing the national anthem in spanish yet a railfan would be arrested for being a terrorist if he even got near an interlocking tower now. What the hell happened to this country in the past 20 years? Now on to how great this is. A local operator controlling the track and the trains. Someone who knows what he is doing and not overburdened with 10 million miles of track to worry about. Thanks so much for sharing history with us.
