Paint protectants have come a LONG way. This stuff truly makes a difference. I mean idk if it saves Watts but damn it'll make your paint slick and smooth!
Love the bicycle spa products (and all Silca products for that matter!) and have converted all my bikes to Super Secret Wax. With respect to applying the Ultimate Graphene Spray Wax to my frames, all the Spa products seem to be formulated to not remove wax. In the past, I have used the Muc Off Wunder Shine liquid wax on my frames. Do I need to do something other than wash the frames before applying the Graphene Spray Wax? Also, when applying to carbon rims/wheels, will the Graphene harm rubber if some accidentally comes in contact with the tires. Thanks!
Will this wax work on a matte paint finish such as the matte paint on a Canyon Grizl bike?
For a brand new frame out of the manufacturer box, any prep you would recommend before step 3 and 4 before the build?
Is this suitable for Matt finish paint?

Our graphene spray wax works on most finishes, and matte is one of them. And happy to know you are enjoying the hot wax!

Have you tried the wax on carbon wheels (disc brake)? Is that a good idea or not, in your opinion? Loving all the Bike Spa products and the chain wax is AWESOME!!!

great product. so what is the added benefit of this product versus mass produced car products like turtle wax graphene ?
Our formulator produces for pretty much every IndyCar and Nascar team as well as custom formulatons for specialty automotive detail houses.. and produces some of the top detailing brands you might have heard of. They also produce coatings for boat racing as well as paint specific coatins for one of the hyper-car brands. As a result, we are on par with pricing of those top brands, but definitely more expensive than the mass market brands. What we found in our work here was that similar to most things, you definitely get what you pay for and in the case of auto part store brands you are just typically getting less active ingredients, or lower grade ingredients, or often times, less environmentally friendly ingredients. In the case of something like our graphene wax or the SiO2 infused waterless wash, our version has 3-5x the amount of active ingredients (and in the case of Turtle Wax Graphene, it doesn't seem to actually have any graphene in it ;-). In the case of the brake/drivetrain cleaner, that's a really unique formulation that was optimized for bicycle disc brakes to be safe on common bicycle rubber seals, hub seals, brake cable housing, and it also modified to be much higher viscosity than traditional brake cleaners so that it cannot wick it's way into bearings and other key components where it might do damage.
Can the Graphene Spray Wax be used on titanium? I have a T-Lab X3 titanium gravel bike that has some paint but is largely bead blasted titanium with a variety of finishes, from a smooth matte to a highly polished mirror-like sheen.
Works great on Ti, all finishes!
Hoi Silca, i just bought the silca secret blend to go the wax route with my new racebike. I bought 2 new chains, which i will prep before waxing. Maybe a stupid question, how do i store the second waxed chain till i change it with the one on the bike? I saw on a video from friction loss that you better not store the chain in a plastic bag. But roll it in a microfiber? w
I'm gonna buy an instant pot. Should i get the smallest version (3,5 liters)? thanks in advance. Looking forward to prep my new bike with a waxed chain and do the cleaning with step 1,2 and 3.
The risk of storing your chain in plastic is that you might get some condensation resulting in rust. We ship our waxed chains in plastic, air tight bags, but they are processed in an extremely low humidity environment, and it might be more of an issue if we were somewhere very humid. Anyway, I would just wrap in microfiber towel, or if you're really worried about it, you can put it in a bag with a silica gel dessicant pack to keep everything dry. Lots of people I know, will hang the chain after waxing and just leave it hanging until it's needed, the risk of corrosion is extremely small.

I have protective transparent adhesive film on some parts of my bike. Will graphene spray wax work? Do I need to take off the paint protective film? Thanks
Graphene wax will add some protection over top of your paint protective film, and certainly won't hurt anything. Ideally, you would want to apply graphene wax before applying the film, but as you already have the film applied, it certainly isn't work taking it off, so just apply over top.
Looking at the diagram/drawing at 0:35, wouldn't applying this product "traps" pollutants under the coating if I have a bike that has seen some use? If so, what can I do to address that? I appreciate the education materials you put out with your products.
You just need to get it exceptionally clean before appliation. It can seal nano scale pollutants under there, but if you've cleaned it very well, those are in there an not coming out anyway. There are some paint prep methods from the automotive world that can solve this like clay bar followed by polishing and buffing compound, but those can take hours and hours of work and are quite difficult to pull off successfully on a surface as complex as a bicycle.
What if I have protective tape on my frame? should I spray before taping or after or both?
You should definitely do it before application of the tape, we have not tested it on top of various tape surfaces, so it probably can't hurt but as most tapes are quite soft it might not help much either.
If I want to apply 2 or 3 layers, how long do we have to wait between coats?
15 minutes between coats to allow for full hardening
Should suspension (fork, shock, dropper) be avoided with this? How about with the "Step 4" waterless wash?
No, it's totally safe for all of those things and will actually help reject dust and dirt. You really just want to avoid the brake rotors and pads as it will reduce braking power until it is burned off.
Is there any advantage to using the graphene spray on a brushed bare titanium bike finish ?
Works great, looks great, and will protect the finish from abrasion. It also helps keep the bike clean as it fills in the pores in the metal that can hold fine dust.
What is the expected longevity before this needs to be reapplied? (So many variables, but give it a shot...)
I would do 2-3 coats the first time and then another coat every time you do a full step 1 and 2 clean of the bike.. and I'd follow it with the SiO2 ceramic step 4 once dried as well. Some of the really expensive graphene and ceramic coatings claim lifespans of 1-3 years, but in practice we've just not seen that to be true in the real world.. and our coating is much, much, much more friendly to apply and about 1/100 the cost per ounce, so I'd apply it whenever you have very clean paint to apply it to.. Same for the SiO2 layer.. it's not as hard as the graphene, but it's thicker and mixed with a slicker wax base, so adding a layer over top of the graphene layer whenever possible can really only help maintain paint and cleanliness in the long term. Personally, since we've been developing all of this, I have been doing steps 1,2,3,4 pretty much monthly and step 4 weekly, but the right answer for you could range from daily to quarterly depending on your desired outcome and time available to do the work. - Josh

LOL, sounds like one should also add the magical graphene to Synergetic or Super-Secret.
Keep your eyes open for future announcements, but long story short.. the graphene that works in this application is many more layers thick than what you need to beat nano-scale Tungsten Disulfide in a lubricating environment, and those lubricant grades of graphene are on the order of 80-100x more expensive, but we may or may not know a guy (or girl..)..
I see in another comment that this can be used on raw carbon and matte finishes, but ... does it make them look glossy?
No. Modern matte finishes create the effect through micro-roughness in the surface, but this roughness is orders of magnitude larger than the ceramic coating thickness, so the surface can be 100% coated in the ceramic and still look completely matte.
Is it effective on chrome as well?
Yes, will polish and seal chrome very nicely!
can this be used on raw (brushed) Titanium frames please?
Yes, it will help seal and protect all finishes of Ti.
Can this be applied to raw carbon?
Yes, we'd recommend 5-6 coats on raw carbon as it's much more porous than paint.
