The fact that Link still believed he liked Splenda the most in the end, even though he didn't like it in the previous rounds, is amazing.

It’s kinda insane that in almost every round they liked Equal, yet kept convincing themselves they didn’t like it.
And each round they didn’t like Splenda but kept saying it was their favorite.

The power of marketing mindshare. They consistently liked Equal more than Splenda, but kept forgetting that and reverting to Splenda because it's the brand they're condition to assume is better. It's so interesting, I love it
Something similar happened with the Detroit style pizza episode. Little Caesar’s seemed to be Link’s favorite until he realized it was Little Caesars which some have a low view of. Made me sad.

I think that may be the case with Rhett but Link just has exceedly bad short term memory, you can see this in any of their 1-100 taste tests of foods and why he's so wildly inconsistent with his judging standards

Not doing coffee seems like a missed opportunity. Sooo many daily coffee drinkers who would be interested in the results.
I prefer sucralose, myself: I put stevia in my tea, sucralose in my coffee. (I prefer sucralose-sweetened soda, too, but that's just because I don't care for aspartame.)
I do think coffee would've been better for this

Just an FYI, Truvia is a blend of erythritol (a sugar alcohol) and stevia. So yes Rhett, there is a sugar alcohol on the table. It's also my preferred one, to be honest.

My dad has type 2 diabetes and he asked me this when he was diagnosed. I told him I don’t know, how am I supposed to know. Now I can tell him lol.

Guys, Truvia has Stevia AND erythritol, which is a sugar alcohol, and yes, it can upset the stomach. Sorry for your stomachache, Link.
this is important because if you use Truvia for baking/cooking it can definitely have the negative sugar alcohol-type effects. Splenda won't cause that.
Lol, Splenda gives me stomach cramps, and it's a common reaction.
The best sugar substitute is Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener. My favorite is the golden variety. It tastes like sugar in the raw with zero after taste.

I'm actually really thankful for you guys doing this. I'm a T2 diabetic and I've always just used Splenda because of all the hype. I'm going to try Equal and Truvia now and see how I think they compare. Who knows, maybe my non-diabetic husband will enjoy eating my desserts with me :). Thanks!

Can u educate me on diabetes plz? Is it true that u can get type 1 diabetes genetically and without eating sugar? Also, is it possible to get type 2 diabetes without sugar? My grandpa had type 2 but he never talked about it
@@jimlahey9253 Neither type is really caused by sugar. I was diagnosed with type one at 13 and type one doesn’t really have exact known causes. Type two can be caused by genetics and/or a person’s diet, but not sugar and it’s usually diagnosed later in life.
