Shame this came out a day too late. Mainoo showed last night in 60+ minutes that he has the attitude and quality to make a difference in our midfield. Him alongside Case or part of midfield 3 with Bruno and Mount would be very interesting to see.

Mainoo, Mount and Bruno played for 45 minutes during pre-season during the win against Arsenal, and that was pretty exciting to watch! I’d love to see more of that when possible.

These valuations are always hilarious. You can just feel the hope in the amounts mentioned.
Part of it is being hopeful and blinded by supporting a club, part of it is not seeing the reality of transfer market on the continent. Outside Madrid/Bayern/PSG/Juve, most clubs can't afford more than €20m net spend, and only splash cash if they sell big.

Joe is off his nut with some of those fees. £50m for Sancho is insanity - unless he absolutely rips it up on loan in January. Definitely won’t be eating his hat.
50m is about their budget for the transfer window before sales. Imagine AC Milan's directors speaking about him "there's this lad at Man United who they're desperate to get rid of, hasn't played all year and hasn't been good for 3 years. Let's spend our entire budget on him"

Casemiro’s problem is that he pretty much gets hung out to dry by everyone else on the field. Bruno does nothing defensively except point and yell at his teammates while he stands there watching, mctominay runs his ass off but it’s like a chicken with its head cut off (seems to have no clue what he’s meant to be doing), and mount is soo hot and cold game to game, add that to the crap defenders behind him and what do you really expect from him at his age and mileage?
Think Joe must watch a completely different United to me with some of these decisions and valuations…

Maguire has not been shit. But that doesn't mean he's been good. The team is handicapped with him on the field. You need to play so deep with him on the pitch, that's why united cannot dominate the game.

Tbf isn't Mount injured or recovering from injury? And hasn't he been that way since Summer? I think he can come good, but he needs a period were he doesn't get injured and he needs time... not everyone will adapt as quickly as Bruno in his 1st season...
Mount hasn’t been good for a season and a half and at this point it has been so long that you have to question will he ever get back to how he was
McTominay starts because he has been in form. He’s looked a goal threat. Been outstanding at international level. Mount hasn’t performed to that standard for ages if ever

put mount in on the left wing instead of Marcus Rashford and you’ll see that he still has the talent in spades. Mount still presses and works harder than Rashford so the team could perform well. Rashford doesn’t even need to come off necessarily. Mount plays as a left wing playmaker and Rashford plays the right wing as a penetrating forward. Bruno can stay central, arriving late in the box or hovering at the edge of the box, and Hojlund plays as a holdup/poaching striker. Mainoo & Casemiro sit behind to prevent counters and recycle the play. McTominay becomes a super sub that replaces mainoo when man utd wants to push forward.

On thing to add between batane and maguire is the want to show your worth. Caramel has pretty much won everything that there is to won. While maguire has something to prove.

What is this “next 5 years”? If players like Varane, Maguire, Lindelof, Evans, Eriksen, Either AWB or DALOT, van de beek, martial, McTominay are still here in 2 years Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team have failed. They need all need to be sold and replaced.
2 RCB, 1 very good fullback, 2 good CM to replace Eriksen, McTominay (Kephren Thuram, Joao Neves), 1 experienced striker so Rasmus can develop better. These are all necessities if the club wants to compete with the likes of Arsenal and Man city.
The problem is just say we made 200 mil from all those sales, there is zero guarentee we see much of that money go back into the team, especially if the Sir Jim 25% bid keeps stalling, saying that even with SJR, The Glazers would probably pocket most of that and try taking out more loans to sign players, putting more debt on the club. Cant see them putting any money in now.

As a Liverpool fan, I'd get rid of most of the players - Keep Malacia, Mainoo, Hannibal, Hojlund, Garnacho and sell of the rest. Focus on the youth and bring in players who want to play for the club. Stop spending £86m on garbage players like Anthony and focus on young and upcoming players. Build a system around Hojlund

Let's be honest the only players who should still be at United in just three years time is a small list. Onana, Martinez, Shaw, Mainoo, Mount, Bruno, Rashford, Garnacho and Højlund.
Everyone else is either too old (Varane, Casemiro, Eriksen), or not good enough.
Players like Bayindir, Dalot, Lindelof, Hannibal, and Amad could stay as squad players or kids with potential.
That's 14 players at best to keep, which means we need a bare minimum of 11 players over the next 3 season's to have a 25 man squad. Probably a few more in reality as not all the youngsters will step up and prove themselves good enough.
Rashford is debatably not good enough. His wages are too high for how often he has his famous runs of form where he actually scores goals.
And even then, Mount is a mountain of a question mark at the moment. Plus Shaw…is he world class? On his day maybe? But in 5 years time? I’m not sure.

ouch. joe. that was awful insight. wan bissaka is one of the doziest defenders we have ever had. he is forever leaving his man and he is the worst in the prem at defending the back post. also this "hes the best 1 v1 defender" is a complete myth. wan bissakas positioning is terrible which is why he always has to do a last ditch slide. good defenders stay on their feet. for me wan bissaka is one of the worst right backs in the league. he is a failed crystal palace winger and he plays like one.
