You have a heart of solid gold Puddin'. I hit 50 with 3 adult kiddos, me and the wife started fostering, ended up adopting 1 of the little buggers! She will graduate HS when I hit 65.
Congratulations Puddin! I was divorced after a 5 year marriage. I had 2 amazing boys from that relationship. Long story short she had started using after we split. I have full custody of my boys. When I got remarried I gained a 3 year old little girl and my boys took right to my wife. She was an absolute true life angel. I never would have made it without her. I offered to adopt my daughter because her dad never wanted anything to do with her. She truly was mine. She however chose not to be adopted because his parents were a large part of her life still. She wanted to keep their name. Honestly I was ok with that. She actually put time and consideration into that, and that shows a lot of respect. I was quite proud really. Now later on my youngest boy from that first marriage wanted my wife to adopt him when he turned 18. So I totally get where your daughters are coming from. Brother my heart is so happy for you. I pray that God continues to bring you blessings and may he continue to look over your family. Keep up the good work!

I had so much work to do this week to finish the floor in my new welding shop . Finished it yesterday. Got together a trailer of scrap metal I'm taking off Saturday. During this past 4 days I kept saying to myself.....Sitting on my ass won't get this shop finished. Sometimes we find motivation in the strangest of places. Thanks for the relatable content.

Puddin', congrats on Hank's adoption! Taking your last name is probably the best thing she could give you. It shows how much she loves you and how proud she is to be a part of your family. That being said, I am in no way throwing shade towards your middle girl for deciding otherwise. Whatever is printed on an ID in no way reflects what is in her heart. Change is a scary thing to the young ones, even if they don't show it. Just because she wants to keep her original name now doesn't mean she will feel the same way later. You know she loves you, she knows it, hell...WE know it! Basically, I'm saying what's Shakespeare did: "What is in a name? A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet."
