Bhajan 'Vaishnav Jana To' performed at 'Vaibhav' organised by the Cambridge University Indian Classical Music Society.
Written in Gujarati language, this bhajan was popularized by Mahatma Gandhi during India's independence struggle. It describes the traditional concept of ahimsa or non-violence which is associated with understanding the pain of another and not getting mired by ego. This composition was sung famously by the nightingale of India late Lata 'didi' Mangeshkar.
